    Great sewing project. Now I know how to attach elastic to a waistband. Thanks for the tip!

    Wow! I’ve been watching a bunch of videos but this on is the best so far. It doesn’t look TOO difficult... would you recommend this for beginners?

    • @LaurenJohnson
      @LaurenJohnson  4 роки тому +5

      Thank you so much Olivia! I would recommend it for beginners! The best thing about this style is that you don't need to sew in a zipper or buttons which are often tricky if you're new to sewing. I'd say the hardest part is adding the elastic, but it's not bad. I hope you give it a try! :)

    hi Lauren. thanks for sharing this video. because it is cut on a bias, after a few wears, did you notice one side longer than the other? apparently for bias skirts we need to hang them up for a day to allow for the fabric to stretch out. I havent done one but I will soon. I just got really cool satin and velvet fabric

      Hi there! Thanks so much for watching my video! I haven't noticed an issue with this particular skirt, but the bias on this fabric isn't extremely stretchy. I think if I try it again in a silk, I'll definitely allow it to stretch. Your fabrics sound lovely!

    How do you do this if you don’t have an overlocker? I’m new to sewing! X

    • @LaurenJohnson
      @LaurenJohnson  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Harriet! Your sewing machine should have the capability of doing a zigzag stitch which is a great substitute for an overlocker. I used it for years before I got comfortable with the overlocker. Hope this helps-- good luck with your sewing!

      Lauren Johnson Hi Lauren, thanks so much for replying! Yes my machine has a zigzag, I am looking forward to trying this skirt! Xx

    As a plus size girl, how would I adjust for the amount of fabric needed?

    • @LaurenJohnson
      @LaurenJohnson  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there! The pattern has a size chart that should include the amount of fabric needed based on size and measurements. I hope this helps!

    Is this a kit???? I went onto the link to see if this box is a kit but it’s not?? Love the fabric but $13 a yard is a little much, I think 🤔.

      Hi Charmaine, thanks so much for watching! This was a gift box that they sent out to some sewing bloggers, sorry for the confusion! The fabric is a little on the pricey side, but it's really good quality so I splurge on it occasionally. I've found a lot of great more affordable options on fabric.com! :)

      Hi Lauren, yeah I've been to that website Fabric.com but the shipping is a killer for Hawaii, still looking for a fabric place with a lower shipping rate. Thanks again!

      @@Momzie808 Ah, that makes sense! Best of luck finding somewhere with a good shipping rate!
