  • Good day all. Im so excited to share this video with you. I love sewing and nothing frustrates me more than sewing with flowy slippery fabric, which is why I decided to share a simple pencil skirt which is cut on the bias making it a simple diy bias skirt using only an elastic for the waist band. This project is completely beginner friendly, I do hope you enjoy this sewing vlog or tutorial and leave me comments below if there is anything specific you would like me to make such as a dress or some pants and t shirts.

    I love diys. I have no sewing skills. Just hand button repair or a simple hem but that’s about it. You did such a great job! #newsub😀🎄

    Thankyou 😊Nice and clear, except for the folding part at the beginning, which was a bit fast for me.😅

      Perhaps it is time for an updated video of the same. ☺️

    So for the back do you have to put the fold on the 90 degree angle from the first fold. So the bias doesn't twist ?

      Yes exactly. But can I tell you a dirty little secret? Most bias skirts sold at fast fashion stores are cut at 60 degrees or less angle to save fabric. As long as the cut is made off an angle of the fabric, due to the nature of the stretch of the fabric, it will still fall nicely. Of course once washed, they will twist weird. So 90 degree is best for home sewing because we’re better than that!

    How do you find the bias?

    You sew so straight. My sewing is crooked a lot of the time. I even bought a magnet to sit on the throat of the sewing area

    I tend to hang my pieces overnight before I sew the side seams, to let the bias fall out. Is there a reason why we sew it first then hang it over night? Thanks.

      Great question. I’m not sure. Lol. But I would assume it would be better to hang them first then sew.

    Did u use the same measurement you use for the hip for the down part, because it is looking wider at the down part

    • @SeetalMD
      @SeetalMD  Рік тому +1

      I just went a little wider like an A cut
