Mr. Dave C. - I just found your channel recently. I've been watching your videos relentlessly since finding your channel. It makes me happy to see the things you do and to learn from you. I think you are a great man of wisdom and strength both in spirit and body as one would have to be to have gained skills such as yours. I hope one day to have a cabin in the woods or some such thing and to live more self sufficiently and maybe even teach others to do so as well. I guess that's just a dream of mine but dreams are attainable if we work hard enough towards them. Thank you for inspiring me. I also enjoy your website, I hope to see one of the knives come back in stock the bushcraft basic as it seems to be the most appealing to me for the price point. There as so many awesome tools. Anyways I'm starting to babble but hoped you might see this comment as it's one of the early ones cuz you just posted this video. I am twenty seven years old and living in Minnesota. Signed, A fan, Tony P.S. dual survivor was never the same after you left, couldn't watch it.
Dave, I've been following your channel for a short time and today I saw something I was longing to see, that is someone skinning and swishing game. Two thumbs up and a million thanks.
Oldie but goodie, thanks to you Dave I got my certified trapping permit and licence and can't wait to get out and get some food and fur .Thanks for all the great videos I've learned so much and it helped in my test as well .
Really enjoyed this vid Dave. I am an extreme novice when it comes to hunting/trapping, you give confidence through your vids & teaching. Keep up the good work. Thx.
Love these types of videos. I'm a huge hunter and trapper, but last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer and it's made it hard to get out and do that sort of stuff simply because I'm out of shape and the chemo kind of drags me down. But watching these videos and with my dad's help it really gives me the strength and motivation to get out there and keep going. Thank you for making these videos.
Awesome video Dave. Man I like that axe you were using on the squirrel. I'm a sucker for a good axe. Great trap set up. Looking forward to the other videos. Stay safe brother.
Looks like a forest axe. Not sure about the maker but Granfors Bruks and some of the other swedish dudes make some damn good axes. I think Dave has videos about his preferred pack axes.
[ thumbs up!! ] Though I haven't had the time I'd like, I can't recall a channel within the genre conveying more real world, pragmatic value proposition that doesn't shy away from the nitty gritty / down and dirty. Dave Canterbury, splendid content!
I've been killing and skinning squirrels for 30 plus years- and I think his way is better because its faster and would definitely be easier for someone new to learn. I'm gonna try it next time.
You'll never starve, you shot, skinned and redy that squirl to cook in under 3 minutes! ..I like the short montage with music (adds professionalism) and various shots...Drones are really cheep now...you could show us the pathfinder property from the air! Like the 'NEXT DAY' shot in this video.
i've always followed an ancient policy to never eat the viscera of other predators. it contains too much vit A, and there's skeletal remains of ancient man with a fibrous growth on their bones, believed caused from doing this. it was probably a debilitating condition, which would be fatal in a hunter gatherer lifestyle.
After seeing how short your hair is here, I had to look at the upload date again...what year was this originally shot?...I've been watching your vids from the oldest forward.
I always wondered if the people who hunt coyotes ate the meat...I thought they were just after the hides. great video man. me and my son love it. wales, uk.
I hope to see how you cook the squirrel. I cooked a couple i shot with a pellet gun over a fire on a spit with old bay. Kind of tough but 40 grams of protein is worth the chew.
do you get a lot of pushback from animal activist or UA-cam for this content? I personally want to do it on my channel but don't want to deal with legal issues
outdoorstech you can make a video where you thank the animal for its life and you can even show that you eat all the meat and some people would still call you an animal abuser
totally agree it's just one of those things I was curious about. I know youtube has been doing some stuff about not being suitable for ads and I hate that because we are just showing our lifestyle
It’s a survival channel based on surviving in the woods and if ur gonna try to do that u better get some meat in u ounce in awhile or die with ur principles in tact
theman1477 well it's part of it and if he'd included it it would have been for learning purposes. They don't just lay down and die for you once they're trapped.

A classic right there! I've watched it about 5 times and just watched the whole thing again.

That was so gangsta man!!! "I've got something for em". Love this guy!

Nice to see the "coyote it's what's for lunch" the way it was really filmed.
[ thumbs up!! ]

Dave Canterbury, splendid content!
Thanks Dave.....
Really as a youngster in SW PA I'm trying to get into Bushcraft and trapping and primitive skills. You are one of my idols!!!
Thank you for this video. I am just learning about this kind of stuff. You sir, are a bad ass!!
Thank you Brother for the Awesome video. It's been awhile since you have done this type. Looking forward to more
Thank you for teaching me such great skills. I will most definitely put them to use
Oh what great memories of the years passed. Thanks for reposting.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing this Dave. Looking forward to more.
Da da da da Dave, in loving it. Give a little refresh to things we all may have forgotten. Thanks!
Looking forward to another season of trapping videos!
Dave, I am glad that you are posting to the pay channel again.
Finally someone who knows how to quickly skin a squirrel
I've been killing and skinning squirrels for 30 plus years- and I think his way is better because its faster and would definitely be easier for someone new to learn. I'm gonna try it next time.
Most brutal bushcraft I ever saw, most guys bring the steak from the supermarket for their videos lol!
Great info, Dave. Thank you for the lesson.
Interesting video Dave and very Mountain Man/Trapper style, my era of interest, I like your Hudson Bay axe 👌🏻, cheers and atb, Paul. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Great video. This video reminds me of the 21st century long hunter series, which is still my favorite series.
My ex always gave me a lot of grief for loving Old Bay so much. It's really good on popcorn!
Old Bay & Tabasco are always in my pack. 👍
Nice work man!

How is avoiding it an ancient policy if there is evidence of ancients doing it.
No homo but I love this guy
John Smith no so sure about that.
John Smith Do you like Gladiator movies
Best video I seen you put up in long time.
After seeing how short your hair is here, I had to look at the upload date again...what year was this originally shot?...I've been watching your vids from the oldest forward.
I’ve seen a couple black bears in southern NH was surprised at how big the black bears get they look smaller on 📺 luv the vid ✌️
Good film dave. I need more like this.
You've taught me a lot on this video partner thank you
I see you wearing that hooded pullover a lot. Is it the ones made from wool blankets? Do you sell them? Thanks
Was interesting to watch on how you clean them since we dont have squirrels that we can hunt here in BC Canada
Dave I was wondering what pieces of a coyote you can eat? Are the backstrap ok along with the front and hind quarts and neck meat?
After having skinned the coyote and cut some meet of it, what did you do to clean your knife before cutting and eating a piece of boiled meat?
I always wondered if the people who hunt coyotes ate the meat...I thought they were just after the hides. great video man. me and my son love it. wales, uk.
Thank you sir
is this a video taped last year or do you already have snow in Ohio?
Liked and subbed keep the videos coming!
What do you think about JACK from blackscoutsurvival?
Also whats the eBay page for your gear or not selling on eBay???

We got lots of wolves here in north idaho and always taught my boys you don't kill unless you going to eat it. what do you think about wolf meat?
I hope to see how you cook the squirrel. I cooked a couple i shot with a pellet gun over a fire on a spit with old bay. Kind of tough but 40 grams of protein is worth the chew.
Chris Cal mom always boiled wild game before frying it it made it tinder
Has Ohio gotten any snow this year.
Good to know.

Do you have a patreon?
when was this video filmed?
2 years ago for Pathfinder TV
nice video! love the meat. I.want to learn also these things buth in my country its not legal.
was that barrel on that gun rifled or smooth
smooth.
I was surprised you dig at all perma frost
love this one
do you get a lot of pushback from animal activist or UA-cam for this content? I personally want to do it on my channel but don't want to deal with legal issues
If you do it legal in your area then you have no legal issues to worry about.
outdoorstech what "legal" issues? Nothing about this is illegal.
outdoorstech you can make a video where you thank the animal for its life and you can even show that you eat all the meat and some people would still call you an animal abuser
People that value animal lives over human are just hypocrites... Where did that hamburger come from? Definitely not a once living creature!
totally agree it's just one of those things I was curious about. I know youtube has been doing some stuff about not being suitable for ads and I hate that because we are just showing our lifestyle
what about mountain lions?
You have snow already Dave, or is this an old video? snow already in ohio?
JoshuaApathy Miller This and old video he is moving vids from UA-cam Red back to this one.
*This is not a vegan channel. It might seem like one somethimes.. but believe me, it's not*
you don't say...
It’s a survival channel based on surviving in the woods and if ur gonna try to do that u better get some meat in u ounce in awhile or die with ur principles in tact
What is PF TY? Ty
"Path Finder Television" I believe.
what axe is that?
Some sort of Hudson Bay axe, maybe Council Tool. I have a Snow and Nealley axe thats very similar but a bit different.
Its a Collins apparently.
Wait.. So you can eat coyote?
Mitchell Kuske ua-cam.com/video/siCV3-NstCg/v-deo.html
Pay Channel?
Karson Cornell there is a channel called Pathfinder TV that Dave and his other instructors post more detailed videos on. I think it's $5/month.
Thanx for not having the kill shot of the coyote in the video
theman1477 well it's part of it and if he'd included it it would have been for learning purposes. They don't just lay down and die for you once they're trapped.
Also that dog would tear you apart given the chance. We have em in NE OH 60+ lbs.
The audio just stopping is throwing me off
look on you tube people are using those 360 vr cameras look on UA-cam
hunt and cook way to go men....
Cook the head, that's the best part. Use the rest to fish or put in a trap. Waste nothing.
Too bad them old reds skin dont come off like that
Ohh BTW what does squirrel tastes like man?
It's one of my fav meats. Next to jack rabbit.
