I came for the game. Stayed for the beard.
Ha! Danke!
I’m not even a big “theme guy,” but the Chicago gangland thing is so painfully tired that I’d rather play SoA despite any small improvements to gameplay or variety. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you.
Reminds me of a cross between their Son's of Anarchy, with a bit of Dune mixed in.
Dudes were members & prospects.
Prospects! Couldn't remember the name! Thanks!
Another great review!
Thanks!
Have you ever played Supergang by Ludodelire? That for me is the ultimate gang game. I especially enjoy the combat system. :-)
No, I haven't heard of that one.
Are they going to release the SOA expansions re-themed as well? Or is any of that content already incorporated in this base game?
They may release more faction expansions for this in the future. Not really sure.
I own and really enjoy Sons of Anarchy but a problem I have with the gaming group is that they are uncomfortable with the theme of selling drugs. I tried called them "Bootleg CDs" but the locations didn't help. I am loathe to purchase what is essentially a reskin but the group might actually play this one.
Both great games.
I love Sons of Anarchy: the board game. My favorite board game. I can barely get it to the table for various reasons. People are funny feeling uncomfortable selling fake drugs versus killing dudes, selling guns, etc. I received my copy of Wise Guys and it seems to have enough different things to enjoy as well as feeling and playing familiar. My only gripe so far is that I wish it has plastic pieces like Sons of Anarchy did.
Can someone tell me the title of the song at the end? Thanks.
“Sin”. Information in the credits at the end of the video.
Looking good!
Danke!
I don't understand the red gang rule. It says "win or lose, you walk away leaving the winner controlling the location." Why would you ever use this? you combine your stats with someone but get no benefit? What does walk away mean? Do you move your guys to a new location or bring them back to your clubhouse? It looks like it prevents a die roll, so is this used passive aggressively where you just ally your single associate with someone you don't want to win so they don't get to roll the die? I'm just confused.
I'd have to read it again. Haven't played it for a few weeks.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Its the chicago outfit's gang ability (arbitration). The rulebook doesn't cover it.
You can force someone to spend guns to win and lose clout. You then walk away with no damage taken. Seems pretty strong to me.
Good review. Great stache!
Thank you, and THANK YOU!
Darn, I love the theme, but i was hoping it would support 2 player
Great game nonetheless.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Could it be played with 2 players?
@@danewiskow3680 I think it would lose something.
Great new style sir.
Thank you!
It's such a barometer of where this country is right now, when a porn shop or adult theater could be "off putting" to some....in a game about theft, murder and betrayal.
I recently read "The Second World War" by Anthony Beevor. There were more than a few spelling errors in that book. It happens. Still, a great book that I'm glad I read.
Dang... you´re looking prettier day by day (I mean handsome) :)
I'll accept pretty.
It’s all about the upturned mo
You know it!
Can't believe there's a spelling mistake. "Looses" clout.
I saw loses clout on a card
Hi Cody,
I wonder how the gaming experience feels compared to other remarkable mafia-games.
More thematic, more rapid, more life-like?
- or -
gets abstract, drags on, far from reality?
E.g.
1) = = = Nothing Personal
2) = = = Bootleggers
3) = = = Mafiozoo
Sorry. I haven’t played any of those. I like it about the same as CMON’s The Godfather, but better than IDW’s The Godfather.
Ha, especially bootleggers. Still on my list but needed if you have this?!
Haven’t played Bootleggers.
According to Jesus this game is not founded on any historical facts ...
