Well you can just click everywhere until you find which square you can go, make it so you can move anywhere, if it's an illegal move, you lose :)

It's super difficult to follow this with all the cuts in the video, if you would allow the time the opponent takes to play their move to stay in the video, it would be more natural and easier to follow the position

Make a chess variant where every piece can always capture every other piece 'en passant.' For example, if a rook moves from b1 to b8, any piece can capture it by moving to any square from b2 to b7 on the following move (moving to b8 would also capture this rook, but that's a normal capture)
Knights are the only pieces that can't be captured this way
Pawns still capture diagonally. A pawn can still move forward to the square that was crossed by an enemy piece on the previous move; it just doesn't capture that piece (but if pawn do diagonal move to said square it would capture that piece)

It doesn't tell you which squares you can move to, so by checking if your piece can move to a square, you risk playing that move
