I love the long unedited parts of these videos. Sometimes creators try to make everything look flashy, but production is usually anything but flashy. Nice work man!
I love how calm and polite you are in your videos, unlike those UA-camrs that are all hyped up the whole time for no reason. I can see also how this long and slow process of getting to where you are now has kept you real humble (not that you didn't deserve it before or you weren't as humble, don't get me wrong. I think people that get there too fast suddenly don't have their feet on the ground, and I think you clearly do, despite your huge talent). So I am so happy for you! loved everything in the video. please keep it up!
Couldn't agree more. I can't stand the youtubers that put on this fake hyped up persona just for their videos. It's cringe and you can see right through it. Love how Gian is just himself.
@@carlostigs as a camera assistant working with a calm, polite and porfesional DP makes my shootings a lot more peacefull and enjoyable. Would love to work with you one day. If you get to shoot here in Mexico, give me a call :) . Love your content
Gotta say, your conversation with Lee from 21:30-24:14 is of extreme value to me. The creative give-and-take and need to adapt are what I love the most about working in the field with other folks - and it's also the hardest to describe and quantify. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to dive in to the rest of your work!
Being able to watch and hear the communication and problem solving on the train platform was super educational. Also, I used to be an actor before I moved behind the camera. I was in some bigger budget commercials like this one, and seeing this made me miss it a little. haha, darn it! Great video man!
I love this BTS because it shows how us as film people work on set for various projects that most people would never guess or experience otherwise. Love your style of communicating and execution with the crew. Also your rig is dope . Thanks for this man
This is literally, and I mean literally the most I’ve ever felt like being on set while watching a video. Feature film bts included! Love the content bro!
One of the most accurate videos on what it's actually like to work on a commercial, the long uncut conversations were so insightful. Sometimes I can get a bit rushed when making creative decisions but how calm you and Lee were is definitely something I'll try to aim for in future. Thanks for sharing
I love the on going conversation between you and Lee (Dir.). I think often people forget the work is in that relationship between vision and the practical. Thank you!
Soooo good! The problem solving that took place outside referring to the train was very interesting to watch. Hope more of these will be released in the future!
Thanks so much for these videos my guy! As an aspiring DoP seeing these BTS videos are super informative and interesting especially with how you work with the director in terms of crafting shots. Really enjoying the content, hoping we can see some more of the same in future!
This video just popped up on my home page, and far out you have such an underrated channel. the long form bts is sooooooo informative. Please keep this series going, it's phenomenally educational. Instant sub
I really wanted to give you a thumbs up on how humble you work together with all the people around. You say what needs to be done but in such a kind manner. Really professional, also love the BTS examples. Really helpful
A lot of DoP’s tend to be “yes men” and don’t often offer constructive criticism, I LOVE that you’re not like that and are highly highly proactive. Also Cudos to you for such an original UA-cam video format, showing people a peak behind the curtains of a professional commercial film set. Don’t know how you have the energy for that, I work in post-production in the same field as you and DO NOT have the energy to also run a UA-cam channel at the same time 😂
This video has been amazing for me as a person who is creating a youtube video about tip to follow as an AC but also as a person with a dream of growing one day to become a DOP on such shoot I have learnt how you share feedback and how you creatively think of how the edit will turn out, thus being able to create amazing shots for the editor. Tank you Carlos
I love these day in the life videos man! It's hard for me to get on bigger video productions out here in Virginia. And I REALLY want to learn more on set terminology and what not, so thanks for giving me a taste of what it's like on a bigger commercial set. 🙏
Hey mate, I wanted to ask what was the vocal length app you used around 31:50. I thought that was a very efficient way to answer the director while not introducing any setbacks. Thanks!
This is a pretty epic day in life, and a breakdown of what's happening. The explanations of the lighting choices and their intention are incredible. Please do more of these.
So glad i bumped into you on here. This was really eye opening as my productions are way smaller for now. Seeing the crew work together, how you communicate with each other and the thought, time and effort that is put into every single shot is amazing. Thanks for showing all this! My take away is, that i can really take more time for shoots and not to try and rush through too many shots. Having had some disappointment on the editing side because we did not do another take or worked on the frame on the shoot i now know that it‘s worth it and that this is what separates the shot from being kinda ok to being really good. I‘ll be watching a lot more of your vids for sure!!
Loving these Carlo!! Learning a bunch.. you’re changing my perspective on how I generally see interactions with DP, Director.. This is really collaborative
Love it man…would be awesome to also talk to the gaffers as lighting is always a mystery to many. Love your easygoing vibe with the director especially..makes a shoot that much better when youre on the same page
Amazing Behind the Scenes truly shows how much work happens on the communication side of a shoot. I'm curios in the trainstation scene at the end (31:32) you are showing Lee what a 24mm would look like for the shot, what app did you use for that and is it available on both IOS and Android?
I love these bro, I work in the camera dept. also so it was cool that you showed what happenes between the takes and how much communication has to happen on set between different departments. Def make more brother.
absolutely loved both of these episodes of day in the life. Where can we see the commercial? Would love to see more of these going forward... super valuable
god how useful this video is!!! thanks man, i watched whole video and i found that I knew about camera. please make more useful contents like this about alphabetic expressions of photography and Video camera. thanks a lot, subscribed

I agree with that

Really appreciate you listening to our feedback and throwing a LUT on the bts footage! This series is so valuable and I’m glad I found this channel!
Man I'm not even in film or commercial, but I LOVE BTS. I'll watch this all day. Thanks for sharing these.
This is literally, and I mean literally the most I’ve ever felt like being on set while watching a video. Feature film bts included! Love the content bro!

Most definitely hahah

That light breakdown and the conversation on the train platform were so learnful in a pratical way! Thanks for this
I love the on going conversation between you and Lee (Dir.). I think often people forget the work is in that relationship between vision and the practical. Thank you!

So interesting to watch this raw authentic POV. I love it!
Thank you
i could literally watch 2+ hours of this. so good
27:49 dir: "There's maybe gonna be audio so be mindful of that"
also the dir: (mid-shot) "hehe great"
Uber interesting. It's not content we are used to see but your interactions with your director & the other departments are gold.

Hey mate, I wanted to ask what was the vocal length app you used around 31:50. I thought that was a very efficient way to answer the director while not introducing any setbacks. Thanks!
This is really good stuff. It also clearly demonstrates how close the Director and Videographer work during an average day in production. 😃👍
Please continue to make these videos. These are very informative and helpful.
This is really great content. Thanks. Please keep this exact format coming
This is a pretty epic day in life, and a breakdown of what's happening. The explanations of the lighting choices and their intention are incredible. Please do more of these.

Carlo, what did you do on 31:45 when you were looking at 24mm focal lenght on your phone if it would be okay for the shot?
When and where can we see the final result?? You hyped us so much, I can't wait to see it🔥
