@@centennialgirlspodcastscgp197 Wtf? No way. Zoe helped save my life. Mia? LIED our entire marriage. Turns out I made the right choice as even after the events of RE7 she had continued to lie and lie by omission to her HUSBAND!
I think RE 7 has my favorite story out of all the Resident Evil games because it made me feel sorry for the villains. The Bakers used to be just a normal family who were taking in survivors from the storm; Jack and Marguerite used to be loving parents, Zoe was immune to Eveline’s mind control and had to watch her family turn into insane monsters that scorn her, and even in Lucas’s case, he might’ve been an asshole even back then, but he could’ve gotten help for his psychosis in another scenario. And yet, even though Eveline is responsible for corrupting the Baker family, I can’t help but also sympathize with the fact that she never chose to be a bioweapon; she never had a normal childhood and was instead just a test subject engineered by an organization that just wanted to use her powers. It’s debatable on whether she truly did want a family or if she just instinctively saw as a means for control; I personally go with the belief that she did want a family of her own that would love her, but because of how she was raised, she never understood that a family’s love was not the same as having total control of them. It’s why she gets upset when people reject her and refuse to be part of her twisted “family”, because of her own loveless upbringing, and in her eyes, if no one will choose to love her, she’ll force them to. It doesn’t make her any less sadistic and malevolent, but it is still sad to think that any chance she had of being a normal girl was robbed from her.
Even though it is a good game dosent mean that its a good re game, it has no ties to the past games besides blue umbrella and Chris, I barley call this a re game, I call this a new story really, setting up re8 that is re4 but Re7, the story is also kind of week compared to RE2 and such but thank you for sharing
@@fearmycrabs I think it does stick to the RE formula though, the game still has its puzzles, you still fought giant mutated monsters, and the threat was still a bioweapon; it just so happens that said bioweapon was the mastermind behind that plot instead of their creators. It was something different but still familiar, and with Village coming soon, there’s also the possibility that RE 7 was setting up a larger story that does have ties to the previous games; after all, it was said that HCF was working with the Connections, the organization that made Eveline. And I personally like RE 7’s story based on how depressing it was.
12:13 Thank God Joe wasnt with the Bakers when they started to become infected. I dont think you can beat Joe if he got infected. Lmao Imagine him being a boss, he'll be an equivalent to a Tyrant.
@@theepic1944 he was infected but he was only infected for a night, so Eveline couldn't force him to become her dad, before he killed the bakers, alongside herself.
A thing you forgot to mention is that Lucas was actually really smart before being infected, he was still sadistic tho considering he killed his childhood bully when he was younger
You know, I highly suspected the Mold was useful not merely as a form of Eveline’s mind control, but some limited form of telepathy amongst the rest of the infected/Bakers. It is my personal theory that the vision Ethan saw really did consist of the real Jack and Zoe - why not the others? Because Marguerite is dead and Lucas is able to resist the Mold. Zoe didn’t have to be present with Jack in the vision, but she was - because they were still alive (the End Of Zoe DLC confirms Jack was alive at that point in time). Zoe was there because she knew she was slowly being infected with the Mold and couldn’t stop changing. Her presence is important. What if the Mold retained the memories and subconscious of those it infected, a bit like a hive mind? It means the real Jack was still in there somewhere, even if he couldn’t be saved. That’s what truly saddens me.
I’m pretty sure it is actually a hive mind. It also explains how Zoe (and later on, Lucas) was able to call Ethan through the telephones in the house. Zoe is a part of Eveline’s hive mind, and Lucas is still able to see Eveline’s child form despite having been cured, so that means he still has some kind of mental connection to it. Lucas and Zoe are able to act with more clarity than Jack and Marguerite, who have progressed into the late stages of their infection. Since Ethan is also infected with the Mold, both of the Baker children are able to know when Ethan is in front of a phone and can call him that way.
@@angeliccreeper1486 Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense, although knowing what a ratshit bastard Lucas was I expected him to put cameras everywhere (because...he creeped on his sister before...which was disgusting) and Zoe hacked them. But yeah, that makes much more sense so thank you!
@@foongern1071 I honestly hope that Lucas wasn’t actually deliberately leering at Zoe because that’s really gross, but given his creepiness, it wouldn’t be out of character... I’m actually quite curious on how Zoe and Mia were able to resist Eveline’s mind control despite having been infected for the same three years as the rest of the Bakers. Did their infection from the Mold just progress slower for them? I would say that Mia’s in the mid-stage part of her infection since the serum doesn’t kill her, but she also doesn’t have total immunity to Evie’s control. Would that mean that Zoe is still in the initial stage despite having been infected for the same amount of time as her family?
@@astolfofansunny4047 Ah, that makes sense. So knowing about Eveline’s mind control gave them more of a chance to resist it. It seems like Eveline was able to give Mia amnesia, which is how she was able to progress to the mid-stage. Zoe still remembers, and because of that knowledge, she was able to prevent Eveline from taking over her mind.
Actually I believe that the DLC's banned footage tapes 1, 2 and three were all showing the camera man survive through it but we know he died because in the tape during the main game he died to the birthday trap from Lucas (By cameraman I mean the cameraman in the Demo)
I think it goes like this, Clancy escapes Marguerite who was trying to bring him into their family, but because Jack didn’t want Clancy to replace him, he tried to kill him in the basement but Clancy survived it all, then Lucas took Clancy to play 21 with Hoffman, Clancy survives again and is killed in Happy Birthday

21:47 Evelyn is truly the most sympathetic RE Villian this series has seen yet, This girl got ripped from normal society for her powers and only wanted a family to be with but maybe out of fear she won't be accepted or only knowing emotional connections to be her moldy friends. She infected the well meaning Bakers and infected them aswell turning them into psychos and "part of the family" the real villians of this story should be The Connections that made her in the first place. She didn't ask to be created as a weapon, but she didn't have a choice, did she?

Honestly it’s both a horror story and a tragedy with happy endings, but also sad ones, I have to say the main villain does bring up an interesting idea on how creations react beyond what they’re created for with some old design still lingering in them. Wonder if ever an e-type weapon will be good and knows why they were made and they don’t want to hurt anyone and like helps the player out with escaping or save the others...

Zoe not dying could mean she returns in some fashion, but with Chris being now "evil", Blue Umbrella might've become the new "Umbrella corp" and she and Joe are effectively test subjects
27:54 talking about that I feel like probably Jack didn't get fully controlled by Eveline Evidence 1: When you are chasing by back (Ethan story), you will kinda hear him saying 'Just shut up', surely there's no one around except us and obviously he isn't talking to Ethan so it must be Eveline Evidence 2: After the first boss fight with Jack he suicided, probably that's because he got his mind a bit clear and wanna stop himself from being manipulated by Eveline to hurt or kill more Evidence 3: When u got ur leg severed by Jack, he will stop attacking u and give a bottle of first aid med (Besides in the chainsaw fight, if ur leg is getting severed he will stop attacking u and let u fix ur leg by yourself) Evidence 4: When u injected the serum into Jack, he will say 'Oh god that's good', so is that because he wanna stop everything from happening (Before he calcified he was still trying to kill Ethan so it's probably not cause by the serum) Evidence 5: In the DLC, Jack has lost the ability to talk and looks like he was fully a walking dead, but even though he kidnapped Zoe for a couple of times, he was never intended to hurt her, instead he put her in an abandoned church and the Baker estate, so what if that's because he doesn't want her to get attack by the molded outside?

@@feryfrost8572 one of the best games i played in a while besides the last of us
I think RE 7 has my favorite story out of all the Resident Evil games because it made me feel sorry for the villains.
@@fearmycrabs It is an RE game, though. It is a horror and has the same creatures (Molded) and the substance mold.

I always wondered what happened with lucas. I finally got my answer. Cant wait to see RE:8. Mike! you seriously make great content. Keep it up.

@@soulreaver6546 Oh much worse
I think it goes like this, Clancy escapes Marguerite who was trying to bring him into their family, but because Jack didn’t want Clancy to replace him, he tried to kill him in the basement but Clancy survived it all, then Lucas took Clancy to play 21 with Hoffman, Clancy survives again and is killed in Happy Birthday

Evelyn is truly the most sympathetic RE Villian this series has seen yet, This girl got ripped from normal society for her powers and only wanted a family to be with but maybe out of fear she won't be accepted or only knowing emotional connections to be her moldy friends. She infected the well meaning Bakers and infected them aswell turning them into psychos and "part of the family" the real villians of this story should be The Connections that made her in the first place. She didn't ask to be created as a weapon, but she didn't have a choice, did she?

Evidence 1: When you are chasing by back (Ethan story), you will kinda hear him saying 'Just shut up', surely there's no one around except us and obviously he isn't talking to Ethan so it must be Eveline
Evidence 2: After the first boss fight with Jack he suicided, probably that's because he got his mind a bit clear and wanna stop himself from being manipulated by Eveline to hurt or kill more
Evidence 3: When u got ur leg severed by Jack, he will stop attacking u and give a bottle of first aid med (Besides in the chainsaw fight, if ur leg is getting severed he will stop attacking u and let u fix ur leg by yourself)
Evidence 4: When u injected the serum into Jack, he will say 'Oh god that's good', so is that because he wanna stop everything from happening (Before he calcified he was still trying to kill Ethan so it's probably not cause by the serum)
Evidence 5: In the DLC, Jack has lost the ability to talk and looks like he was fully a walking dead, but even though he kidnapped Zoe for a couple of times, he was never intended to hurt her, instead he put her in an abandoned church and the Baker estate, so what if that's because he doesn't want her to get attack by the molded outside?
