Really nice build. I just did mine very similar, I just used the old body mounts to hold the body together on the side where the nerf bar goes. It looks awesome
Yeah, I've seen that set-up but I already had the body done with holes cut for the posts where they normally go. That seems like a more secure way to mount the body but I like the traditional way
The body is a Hot Bodies HB D8 Lightweight Clear Body. The mounts were made from already existing traxxas mounts. I just cut them to length and drilled a screw through them. The chassis had 2 perfect spots to mount them to - one on the front of the chassis and one on the gear cover near the rear. You definitely could use the Slash to start, heck, I think there is even an STRC kit to do it with. I used the Rally because of the chassis and the foam from the rally bumper was overwhelmingly useful for the build. I used the foam on the side of the body and to mount the nose of the body, just like with 8th scale buggies
It's just a basic Proline Wing with a Vorza mount. To get it to stay on the tower I used a license plate that I had sitting round. it's great, cheap, and flexible metal to use. Mounting to the Slash should be very easy. Just take off the body mount that is connected to the shock tower and drill a few holes in the tower corresponding to how your wing mount is situated. For the Vorza mount the top two are a little wider than the lower two (I think). Just remember that now the tower will be a slight bit weaker and will also have more leverage put on it when it's hits something. If I could do it over again I would start with an RPM tower. When you say minimal adjustments, do you mean to the mount or the vehicle? With this setup you won't be able to keep SC bodies on anymore so that's a pretty big adjustment. If you've already picked out a buggy body to use on the Slash 2wd, let me know which one you went with in case I ever come across one for cheap
Billy McGrath By minimal, I ment not having to machine my own things, like making the mounts from a license plate, because I really dont have the tools or materials lol. I think I'm just going with a Traxxas E-Revo 1/10 wing and just drill my own mounting holes into the bumper. I do want to get a Jconcepts BAJR SCT body though.
I-Know-My-Username-Is-Really-Long-But-I-Dont-Care-Because-Your-Opinion-Isnt-Worth-Jizz a couple things to consider: the first is that the Revo wing mount isn't anything like other mounts and i have no idea if that would be easier. Check out the Tekno mount it bolts to the body mounts I think. However, with the mounts being spaced differently on the Slash and Revo I'm not sure how that'd work either. Consider mounting to the shock tower if you can. Second, that's a cool and unique body but you'll might have to carve out a couple slots where the wing mount is going to go. It'll look really cool if you get it right though
well the Rally and Slash are 1/10 but converted to a buggy puts it at nearly an identical size as most of the 1/8 buggies on the market. Body and wing are 1/8
2wd is a whole different thing. Different mounts, different chassis, and usually student shocks to start. Consider if it is worth not just using a Bandit or Rustler
Sick backslash conversion. Those shocks look like they're a bit overkill for this car since it's so light but it seems like you made them work well for you. Thumbs up bro. If you get a chance check out my channel!!
It's a Hot Bodies HB D8 Lightweight Clear Body. Not exactly easy to find in 2014 but still out there. There probably are better fitting ones but that worked great for me. I did have to shorten it by about 1/4" or so. It is quite wide and airy.
Oh!! Yeah !! an another badass Backslash !! The d8 shock fit pretty well, i'm opting for the proline pro spec shock. Chek my video is m'y second build of that beast !! ua-cam.com/video/Q_zr3GG135o/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for the feed back. And honestly that backslash is the cleanest looking one I have seen yet.
Great job! I’m looking at doing this to my slash. Thanks for the help and info. Keep bashing!
Very nice build! I have a 4x4 1/8 Backslash with Tekno and STRC upgrades. Still my favorite build.
+RC401Central thanks. Yes, that STRC kit makes me REALLY want to revisit the Backslash build.
Absolutely brilliant
Best backslash ever! Looks sick dude!
thanks man. It drives pretty nice too. Not the same power as an 1/8 scale but it was almost half the weight
Really nice build. I just did mine very similar, I just used the old body mounts to hold the body together on the side where the nerf bar goes. It looks awesome
I'm really feeling it.
AHHHHH
Great build. I’m interested on converting mine.
Thanks. There are conversion kits these days but it's still fun to do something on your own
I converted mines with the STRC KIT. I also got the STRC FRONT/REAR SHOCK TOWERS. All aluminum. Now I can't decide what color to paint the body!
Wow, I did not know that is a thing. Very click kit. If only it came with a specific body, that would be amazing
Yeah, I've seen that set-up but I already had the body done with holes cut for the posts where they normally go. That seems like a more secure way to mount the body but I like the traditional way
Looks great!
Nice build man, what shocks are those? Tks.
I think they were off the Vorza. Not sure. They had to be the same length if I remember right
nice build
Nice backslash! What is the name of that body?
Looks Awsome!!!
Nice setup sir im in the process of doing my backslash question is there a website where i can get a truggy canopy?
very very nice love it
thank you, sir
Could you tell me what body your using, where to get the mounts for it and if it would work for a slash Vxl. Appreciate the feed back.....

Just a couple questions, how did you mount the wing, what wing is it, and do you think it'll fit on a Slash 2wd with minimal adjustments?

What wheels are those? I really like the style instead of a standard buggy dish wheel.
+David Fox HPI wheels. They usually have the best wheel options
Is the car 1/10 or 1/8 scale
What scale is the body and wing
well the Rally and Slash are 1/10 but converted to a buggy puts it at nearly an identical size as most of the 1/8 buggies on the market. Body and wing are 1/8
What type of body is that I'm sorry if you mentioned it but I was in a hurry sorry
How do I do this for a 2wd like we're will I put the body mounts
2wd is a whole different thing. Different mounts, different chassis, and usually student shocks to start. Consider if it is worth not just using a Bandit or Rustler

What body is that I can't find it🙄
