Tugboatpb really? The terrible turbo scavenging, increased engine heat, unequal back pressure, terrible efficiency and partial cause of ringland failure caused by unequal length headers is more then enough convincing I would need to buy EL’s if I ever bought another EJ powered Subaru

Sounds good. I've bought the bc 272 from a fellow wrx owner who had to sell his project due to funds. but got a great deal on them being brand new. but just saying your car is really dope. and hope to see more vids of it

Definitely sounds better cammed with equal length headers. Still maintains that subie rumble when driving but it doesn't have that farting idle.

Ran great till one of the timing belt idler pulleys seized up and snapped lol it now has a built 2.5 short block from iag and built 2.0 heads from headgames motorworks 👍👍👍

I made the one in the video lol bought a sheet of aluminum from home depot, cut it up and painted it black :-) I needed it for the wrc hood vent, it keeps the rain off the engine.

what kind of oil did u use for break in and what oil do u currently use? bc recommends NOT to use synthetic oil and I just got these cams for my 14 sti and was wondering if i can still use motul synth oil after the break in period
Motul break in oil then Motul 8100 x-cess 5w-40. I'm on a completely different setup than this now. Hybrid 2.5 w/chamber matched 2.0 heads. Still running bc272s in the new setup too

Andy Kane twin scroll is a completely different system. This header is made for single scroll. Hit up www.importimageracing.com they have amazing customer service!

@@MrSubyguy82 Oh yeah definitely. I bought all the rollers, tensioner, and water pump from Amazon, but they are all genuine Subaru parts. I read too many things about the gates kits having cheap Chinese or Korean rollers in them

Why would you put ELHs on a Subaru? Now it sounds like a cammed Honda
Why would you leave the uelh on a subaru causing issues with cylinder 4 which are prone to failing because of it.
@@MrSubyguy82 It only causes slightly more heat in cylinder 4. With an EJ20, less than half a degree centigrade. That is pretty nominal. There is no evidence to suggest that it causes unequal cylinder wear.
I would say the slightly less efficient exhaust scavenging is worth the sound.

msk nuked the 280s are more for race use, they are pretty aggressive. the 272s are more streetable :-)

Sir Naysayer he would have lost power and dealt with pistons 2/4 overheating if he stayed UEL. UEL’s are a inefficient design plain and simple, no real WRC car uses them, and no reputable tuner recommends staying with them. His car sounds like a REAL WRC car.
