Wonderful animation and your teaching is wonderful . I was working as a technician at an audio and video cassette company in 1994. I used to repair italian automated machine called GIMA Bologna. As a electronic engg learned mechanical Electrical, electronics PLC,hydrolic. Pnematic in saudi arabian company. At that time there was no such teaching facility available. Italian engg teaching us little bit
first let me say that your videos are impressive, very invested and knowledgeable. I wonder, there are steppers with feedback, that makes them servo steppers. so if the feedback is not an issue, what will you choose for CNC lathe or mill? personally, I think that the stepper will go into position in a natural manner with minimum corrections needed while regular ac/dc servo will always need to resonate around the target point. so unless speed [and noise] is a primer consideration I will always choose steppers.
You are correct. A stepper motor is the likely choice for a CNC lathe or mill. They are precise and highly accurate. Stepper motors can be outfitted with feedback, which in some applications helps to detect and prevent "stall".
