how often friction disks needs to be changed with regular street driving for 335i?
Great video! Can you post one showing how to get it apart again? I want to know I can replace the clutches myself, should I burn them up.
Tone down the music next time.
I like shop noises better than blaring corporate ad music.
Hi have you now released the new kit where nothing needs cutting now I really want to order I have a 2008 335i 3.46 diff ratio
It is impossible to avoid cutting flages. But you can DIY easily. Here is how.

what fits auto 6zf speed 2009 e92 335i ? 188LW ?
That's right👍🏻 188LW it is.
Hi guys. How about BMW E87/E90 LCI diffs? Mabe you can upload any DIY video?
Would this fit a PRE LCI 2008 E90 Sedan BMW 335i? I actually have a diesal 6hp28 swap in the car now, was a 6hp21 before but can’t hold the power
If you kept factory differential, the set you need is 188L. It is available on the link below.

@@RacingDiffs ok thank you, been hearing some talk about bolted and welded ring diffs, could you check based on my cars year and everything if this would be complatible 100%? I heard something about welded ones where its a whole lot more work that needs to be done for it to work.
That is correct. Pre LCI models have bolted ring gear, which is good for you 👍🏻
Heyy
Do I have to cut both flanges 4mm or only one flange?
Both flanges for 4mm.
Hi guys :-) I bought the progressive LSD kit for E92 320d ( 2008 ). I heard that, it doesn't work with DTC system. It should be optimized ! Is it correct ?
Not necessarily. It works just fine.
Have you released a new kit where nothing need to be cut?
Still considering that option.
That would be awesome. It’s hard for me to find a shop willing to do this work. And using a grinder in my garage seems like a bad idea. I think you would sell a lot of these if it was turn key, and not cutting was required.
How to tell if this fits my bmw 335i e93 n55 2011 DCT transmission? Also the part number in your website?
IDK! If I mine are welded or blotted :/
Thanks a lot!
We have another video that can help you determine the exact model of your differential.
ua-cam.com/video/Tedvr4gLYeM/v-deo.html
Can this be done without removing the ring gear? I heard Diff for e90 manual transmission has bonded ring gear. Also since there are different size Diffs for manual vs auto, does this fit for both?
This fits in both type. It is doable to install it without removing ring gear if the gear ratio is 2.47.
scusami non ho capito se i 4mm si tolgono da entrambi i semi alberi ???
This still require cutting? I have an 06 330i really looking into one of these just don’t know how to do that part
Shortening flanges is necessary procedure. However, if you don't have access to the machine shop, you can simply cut them with a hand grinder. 👍🏻
my 2013 135i has a welded carrier to ring gear? Do you supply a new carrier to ring gear?
Yes it does. Ring gear mustn't be changed without a pinion gear. They always go in pair.
Does this set also cover bmw e82 135i from 02.2008? thought I would have the 215LW Diff but not sure...
That would be 215LW diff type. 👍🏻
Can you do the conversion to bmw f13 640d gran coupe?
If I send you my 2010 335d diff would you convert it for me? I have no decent machine shop near me that I trust 😕
Sure, but I'm affraid that shipping cost to us and back would exceed the labour itself. That is why we make tutorial videos. I'm sure if you show the video to even no experienced mechanic, he would have no problem completing the job.
HI, I have BMW 320 D 2009 , does it work for my car to? //Simon
2009 year 320d has welded ring gear, so installation is a bit different. Please check the link below.
ua-cam.com/video/nTlyS1fiNsM/v-deo.html
you says that it is new design needed no machining in description so why guy is cutting in the video the Flanges ????
No machining of spider gears.
Is the same for 330xd m57?
Hi, I have a question, there's a difference that the ends of the circlips goes up or down? The differential it's a 215L from a e90 330d 2006, there's no an oil passage on top, I'll appreciate the answer, thanks in advance.
Hi 👋🏼 groove on the c clips always goes up.
@@RacingDiffsThank you so much, there's a reason why in this diff model that the groove goes up? It's no oil passaje in the 215L bmw 330d e90
Actually i don't know. I just know that every diff I opened, groove was up. And I opened over 500 diffs 😀
2010 330d kit?
This diff will have welded gear?
Yes it will. We have a tutorial about that as well. Check more on our channel.👍🏻
2014 F30 335i Zf8 auto do you have this same kit ?
Yes we do. It is type 188LW. You have it on this link - www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set?variant=33548118524039
any reason you never checked backlash like many of the other videos out there
Actually yes. As carrier unit stays unchanged, you don't need to adjust backlash. Just pay attention not to mix up left and right C Clip/shim.
how to find out about the differential type?
Here's the video that can help.
ua-cam.com/video/WCa7zL9vm7s/v-deo.html
Hello !! Do you have lsd conversión for c32 amg?
No sorry.
Conversion for the e90 335d as they are welded in not bolted ?
ua-cam.com/video/nTlyS1fiNsM/v-deo.html
Does this kit cope with the high torque of a moded 535d?
Is the diff of a 11/2007 and a 08/2009 335d the same as this diff or do they have welded diffs.
When I search on it in the bmw parts Katalog I get 215L and I thought that would be the bolted diff?
They both should be welded ring gear type
@@RacingDiffs but its still the 215L type right? i already ordered 2
Yes.
Was that diff for a DCT transmission?
The diff is the installation procedure is the same as for the manual tranny.
How much would this cost all in all fitted
Price for the complete kit is 254€. It includes all parts. But for installation you'll have to check locally.
Do you need to set backlash after doing this conversion?
Not at all, as you are returning everything as it was. 👍🏻
Does this work on a 328i?
Yes, of course👍🏻
Could I send my diff to you? $
Depends on your location. Please send us email to office@racingdiffs.com
Hi, like I understand then it is not needed to machine any gears just bolt your kit in and it goes? I have a 335d e92 and i need one!
That's right. You just need to shorten flanges though, like shown in video. Here's the link for conversion you need. You will find it discounted until tomorrow, so a good time to act fast.
www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set?variant=33548118491271
Ma sono da accorciare le glande anche su una e46 320i?
Yes they do.
Will this fit a 328i? Thanks
328i E90 has 188L differential.
www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set?variant=33548118458503
This fits the e90/e92 330i too right?
You need 188L set.
www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set?variant=33548118458503
What about lsd%? Around 25?
Exactly 👌🏼
Hi. Its that like a welded diff? Or in normal driving the wheels can rotate independently?
You won't feal it in normal driving conditions.
@@RacingDiffs Thanks. Do you have for a 2002 e46 2.0d 110kw?
@@Christophor284 of course. That would be type 188K. Here is the link for order - www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set?variant=33548118392967
just wondering if the new version is just a bolt on and doesnt require machining?
Shortening if output flanges is still necessary, but can be done with hand grinder. 👍🏻
@@RacingDiffson Hondas if you shorten them they loose a place for the c-clamp. The differential gears are shortened as well leaving no place for them to engage. There should be a video on getting those steps completed because someone can have a major issue while driving if they install this without a c-clamp in place
All those steos are covered in the installation manual. But you're right about the video. We are planning to make installation videos for every singoe product we have, but the time is issue as always.
@@RacingDiffs thanks for the reply. I’m glad you’re explaining it on the manual. I only mention it because the spider gears also have an internal portion that will also need to be trimmed to make a new space for the c-clamp of the driveshaft for the driver side I believe. The passenger side would need the intermediate half shaft Input shaft trimmed about the same distance indicated on the manual. Hope that makes a little sense. Your product is great but would be nice to know this mod is needed included in the vids. Thanks again
what diff would i have? mine is 2008 335i
535d e60?
It is the same differential👍🏼
@@RacingDiffs 535d e60 Facelift also the same?
@@S4Limo yes👍🏼 link is in description.
Hey Racing Diffs, greetings from Bulgaria! :) Long shot but do you offer a rear LSD kit for a 335xi E92 automatic as well? Or will this work as well? Are the rear diff for 335i and 335xi the same?
Hello! We have the model. Please drop us an email to sales@racingdiffs.com and we will get back to you. And you can avoid import fees as well.👍🏻
But for 330XD m57 ?
Does this also work will my F30 335i with an auto trans?
You have a different model of differential. The kit is a bit different in dimensions. You need 188 LW kit. Check the link below.
