- YS-11 is a turbo prop aircraft designed and manufactured by NAMC(Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Company), which was the first commercial passenger aircraft developed in Japan after WW2. The YS-11 were built on 1962 - 1973, and some of them had been used for 30 or 40 years until around 2000s, because of their robustness and reliability. The last (commercial) operator of YS-11 in Japan was JAC(Japan Air Commuter), they were used until 2006. A few of them are still used in JASDF(Japan Air Self-Defense Force) for the special purpose.
I love the YS-11. The sound of this Rolls Royce is the best! !!
When I first got on the YS-11, I had a different enjoyment than a jet plane.
Since it flies at a lower altitude than a jet plane, it was fun to see the scenery from the plane window and the movement of Provera.
Thank you for the video !!! Days of my youth ! ❤️the YS-11 !!!
Í was so fortunats to have worked on these in the 90s. And being engine and taxi qualified, made me not forget that beautiful engine sound. Great memories. So long rice rocket.
LUV the YS-11 ! Flew on them many times!
I rode in many of these with Piedmont Airlines in the US.
I love the YS-11.
Fantastic video 😃👍 , I flew 1 time on a JAC YS-11 from Osaka to Tokushima , only have pictures of this flight
It just looks right!
In Brasil they flew for Cruzeiro an VASP, the nickname of the aircraft in Brasil was “Samurai”
It was also called "Dog Killer (Mata Cachorro) because of the high-pitched noise of the engines.
very beautiful.
Muito bela a aeronave 🇧🇷🌎
I wish I was around to fly on her, The only time I've saw her was in the Aeronautical Science museum near Narita Airport.
Eu só conseguir voar nele aqui n japão demais.
The Saab 2000 would have been a great replacement for this aircraft if only they didn’t go broke.
