See you today Blood Ceremony in Thessaloniki Edit : Definitely one of the best Occult bands out there . Go see them when you can . Very polite and kind people you can talk to after the performance too which is a great plus for me . Worth every goddamn euro I spent on the ticket , would see them again in the future for sure !
Top 5 favorite band now! Been in to them since their live videos starting popping up on UA-cam years ago (before the record deals came along). Finally got to see them live opening for Kylesa in May and BC stole the show, amazing! To bad it was a smallish crowd the entire night. Got The Eldritch Dark recently and it does take a few spins but after 4-5 times, it sinks in and grabs you! Amazing album - Ballard of the Weird Sisters is the highlight of the album!
amazing how many fucking great bands there are out there sure i buy whenever i can but i could never stop and i am 40.........................new album is for Rise Above by the way............
Anyone who likes this should also check out Jex Thoth and The Devil's Blood. These three should really tour together. The ultimate occult rock experience.
The new record is great! (This song is one of the definite highlights as well.) On the new one, Blood Ceremony sacrifice a lot of the campy atmosphere and production value that was actually a great appeal on their debut. "Living with the Ancients", with great production by Sanford Parker, shows the band branching out from being a Black Sabbath/Jethro Tull amalgam. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. Witchcraft better look out! The classic/occult doom bar is set high.
Theodorus Cult The following is from Wikipedia and is just a guess at a possible source: "The Magician is a novel by British author W. Somerset Maugham, originally published in 1908. In this tale, the magician Oliver Haddo, a caricature of Aleister Crowley, attempts to create life. Crowley wrote a critique of this book under the pen name Oliver Haddo, where he accused Maugham of plagiarism. Maugham wrote The Magician in London, after he had spent some time living in Paris, where he met Aleister Crowley. The novel was later republished with a foreword by Maugham entitled A Fragment of Autobiography. The novel inspired a film of the same name directed in 1926 by Rex Ingram."
That intro is actually from a Spanish Horror Film : HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB. It stars Paul Naschy, Helga Line and Vic Winner, was directed by Carlos Aured and made in 1972.
I can’t remember how I discovered them-probably via the “similar artists” lists on Apple Music. I looked up one Satanic rock band, and then found other occult rock bands through them, and now I’ve got my top seven bands of all time.

I respect other peoples opinions, but however based on just the technicallities of musicianship itself, Blood Ceremony beats ancient vvisdom and ghost by a long shot. So... I went to the Roxy last night only for blood ceremony. Hell even hearing from some Ghost fans they were great, me and my friend stayed to give them a shot. And in my opinion, they sucked.
I fucking love this band. I just discovered them and can't get enough. Rock on brothers and sisters.
Yeah they are pretty good

Can we have a new album now please. I’m playing the old ones to death. I love this band sooo much.
Oliver Haddo being the Crowley-esque character in W.Somerset Maugham's 'The Magician'.
The intro riff reminds a lot of electric funeral by sabbath . This is some good stuff
Alia is wonderful!
Smart, talented and beautiful!
She rocks!
Without Blood Ceremony we are lost
Haunting vocals, mesmerizing riffs, trance inducing percussion, darkly melodic thumping bass, is this not fantastic?!

Wondering that too...
I hate listen to people saying that they discover band on youtube when the band has a label like metal blade records behind of it!!
I can’t remember how I discovered them-probably via the “similar artists” lists on Apple Music. I looked up one Satanic rock band, and then found other occult rock bands through them, and now I’ve got my top seven bands of all time.

Hard to please, isn't he?
He asks only you let him take your mind
Harvester of souls is he
Necromancy and subjects of that kind
Far beneath Paris streets
Our coven meets - the Sabbat is nigh
Haddo waits so patiently, before the altar of sacrifice
Oh, will you walk away?
And no, it would not be a good idea for you to stray
The rites of Haddo have begun
He's calling on the ancient ones
There are strange worlds hidden in his sorcery
Many things have come to be through devilry
Both wicked and divine
As nothing ever comes for free
Our gods will need your blood as sacrifice

Riffage!!

Electric Funeral
Blood Ceremomy >> Purson
The intro is totaly ripped off from the bass line of Electric funeral, anyway, good song.
