I don't know if this one is one of them, but he did design competition knives. That's why he loved his M4. The GB1 had no guard on it so people were worried you could slide up onto the edge so against his will, S[yderco pushed him to redesign the handle. He said it was meant to cut, not stab, but Spyderco was adamant. Today, many people prefer the one, many prefer the 2.
@@WhatsthePOINT_EDC Sal asked Gayle to design a hard use utilitarian knife using the M4 steel from his competition folder. Great 5 minute video of Gayle talking about the design, Spyderco Designer Insight Series: The Bradley folder
I went with the Cruwear, SDK micarta + MXG clip. Gave myself a little more lockbar access and softened the jimping. Not the best detent on mine, but dosen't bother me. Really been enjoying the slow roll on this one. The washers are thicker than any other Spyderco I own. The proud liners give it a really solid feel in hand. Its like a refined tank!
I picked the one up blade hq released a while ago in cruwear and in natural g10. I like it same action as yours seems like and I cut in better lock bar access. Definitely a great blade 👌
The scales are aftermarket and by the way you have unlocked the liner it has the liner lock relief modication. Do you still own it? I have the same color scales and all
Your right. I just asked the owner and he said they are aftermarket. So this knife has been modded for lock access? It’s still got horrible access if so. Lol. I definitely like the GB2. Thanks man!👊

If this knife were in Lockback or Frame Lock, I would have bought it long ago.
That would make it sell more for sure.

Good thing there is a lot of USA made blades. It performs better that thousands of USA made knives though.👊💪
