Yaesu M-1 mic diy remote with ssm-75e mic

I can now use the hand mic to lock, unlock the vfo knob. Switch between vfo and memory. Vfo A & B.. I can go through the QMB channels.. And also scan the freqs with the two top buttons with long pressing them to go faster. Also can use the PTT in both mics to work TX... In order to make this work without getting feedback in between both mic speakers you will need to open the hand mic, remove the clip and then use a straight pin to remove the "white " wire. Which disables the hand mic microphone . I just used a little electrical tape folded over the metal pin to cover the metal end and layed it to the side inside the mic.. If you want it back to stock just slide the pin back in place..

Do you have the monitor function enabled on the radio? That will cause feedback too. I learned that the hard way.

I do...haven't tested that..but haven't had it so that in a long time..but I also haven't been using the external monitor

I thought the M1 needed a wall wart?

It's powered through the radio through the rj45 jack.

@@thomashenderson603 I sure don't... I tried it once. But to be honest I set it back to factory and used the audio settings in the ftdx10 instead.
