I have found a new love to making stuff out of 2-4 and dimensional lumber, built bunk bed , bed frame, 9.5 wide book and entertainment stand, it give a rough unique finnish look
Question... I've decided I'm going to be building some deck furniture, and I like this design. That said, and I ask because I haven't seen anyone do this, why not connect the armrest and front leg with two 45s? Then the grain isn't exposed and the sharp edge can be rounded over. Is this a bad idea? Is that why no one does it?
You speak perfect american english ; clear, tidy sound and excellent pronunciation ! Very helpful video for any wood works learner and english learner as well.
Just built several chairs in the shop of treated lumber in a different style. Thought I would check out U Tube see what others were building. Great video. Nice chair.
Great work, simple, cheap and practical. (Wood) look nice on most all patio settings. 20:15 was so me. I used to always take Dads hammer, break rocks to see the marking inside. I finally got my own at Christmas along with a rock polisher. Fun times it was.
Love the design. If I hadn’t already made some last summer I would’ve bought and built these. You’ve been making a lot of great stuff lately and it’s nice! Great job and keep up the good work!
Pine’s not great outside, but you can make them last longer by putting a little foot under the legs, will hold the end grain up off the surface so it absorbs less and can dry what moisture it does. Looks good thou!
@Thomllama that is a great tip! Mine will be under my covered porch so will never really be exposed to standing water but definetly a great thing to do to add to the longevity of it.
Hey Brady, I've watched all your videos. Some of them more than once (that outfeed table video is crazy) I look foward to your next video. They get better and better each time. Keep it up, you're on to something 👍👍😎
I bought the plans. They are very well done and easy to follow, especially when augmented with the video. I intend to use 3/4” hickory after milling. Do you think this thickness is sufficient or should I laminate up to 1-3/4”?
Pressure treated lumber contains chemicals that you don't want in contact with your skin (don't put your arms resting on it). If you do use it, you would want to paint it and don't breathe the dust of it when cutting. It's also going to look rough as the pressure treatment has indents on the outer edges and won't where you cut it. It's also more expensive. If you're going to pay more, then consider a more durable wood. The material used in this video is nice and inexpensive.
Oh dude I use that drill all the time. It is my most used drill. It is plenty capable for more than just screwing pocket holes especially with a high output battery.
Nicely done Brady! 😎 Patio furniture is stupidly expensive...and the irony is that your 2x4 version ended up looking better than that $1,500 one. Good grief - they're getting away with murder on that one. Anyways, great video as always! Well thought out build, clearly explained, and a good looking finished product. 💪 Might need to design a matching 2x4 patio table to go in-between them for the another video idea?
Thanks a lot man! Your not kidding, it's a nice chair but not 1500 nice. And that's on sale from 1900! Haha. Yes I like the idea of a matching side table!
I'm considering this project. But wondering howany hours this took. I wouldnt be doing planing or joiner. Has anyone made these and can share the hours?
You an find wood patio chairs for a lot less and ones that look better than these for under $300. I think the poster just looked for the most expensive chairs for this video.
I noticed you have holes in your work shoes. I also noticed you have nice tools, they and your shop are well taken care of, your child wants for nothing and your wife got a new set of patio chairs. I like your priorities. That alone is worth you making videos but the plans are pretty nifty, too.

Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road? We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
I need some great lighting for my 1999 Jeep Cherokee. If you supply me with lighting, I would allow you to put a decal or wrap on my hood for a set period of time. Let me know if you're interested and where to contact you. Thanks!
Those look cheap and cheesy when built with 2x4s...and pine will not last outdoors... This IMHO this is a waste of money...Next time use cedar, redwood or even white oak. This way they will last for years.
All much better options of wood yes. And all much more expensive. I think people like the idea of grabbing 2x4s for a simple project. Mine will be under a covered porch and I guarantee will last 10 plus years. People can use whatever lumber they'd like though it's not like I'm saying 2x4s are the only way.
@100%truth If you don't like this guy's video, go watch something else. Or, maybe film yourself doing something and watch that. Go be negative somewhere else!
@@BradyHommel Why did you say that these chairs are SUPER expensive and show a pic of a chair costing $1,535? When I search the web, I can find these and even sets of Adirondack chairs for less thatn $300...5x times less than the over priced pic you showed in your video.
@@dizzydreamaway There is labor cost to consider, probably took this guy 3days, 8hrs a day to build these. At $40 an hr. which is cheap it would of cost him $960 in labor.

So it doesn’t look too two by foury 😂 love it and know exactly what you mean buddy . Love your videos and your woodworking. Thanks

Hello. I love you extensive , elaborated, and transparent presentation. I wish other people would learn from you. Thanks for educating us. educating I
I purchased the plans and look forward to tackling this along with coming up with more options off the simple design…
This is good, easy to follow even though I’m baked and this fits my design & build vibe for my current outdoor project.
Just built several chairs in the shop of treated lumber in a different style. Thought I would check out U Tube see what others were building. Great video. Nice chair.
Thanks a lot!
Great build! Love the simplicity and how you show that someone could make something awesome out of framing grade lumber. Cheers!
Thanks a lot! Glad you like it
I love it!! I'm gonna make this and add round over on the edges. I'll send pics when I do.
Thanks! Awesome, can't wait to see it!
Thank you you give great great instructions you show so much respect !!!! Did I say thank you :)
I think a patio lounge made like this would be awesome!
Sure would!
I’m definitely going to try this for my little motel

Thanks so much! Haha yes I used to do the same exact thing as well.
I took my dad's hammer one time when I was about 9 years old and beat the heck out of his workbench.
He wasn't too happy with me!

Hey there! Great to read your comment. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I look forward to sharing more!

I had the same thought, but for cedar. I think 3/4” is probably fine.
Looks like the kids could give you a new pair of shoes for upcoming Father’s Day 😂 Nice simple good looking chairs 👍
😂 yes I am in need of a new pair. I tend to not buy new shoes till my feet are practically falling out of them. Haha
These are fantastic!! I can't wait to make some for my new deck. 😊
Glad to hear that! Thank you!
Good stuff. Do you get raised lines on the wood from your DeWalt planer?
One question, what is the weight that this chair can hold? Great video and you’re right $1500 for a chair I would never spend 😂
Oh man I have no idea. I never tested it. I would imagine 300ish pounds but don't quote me.
🙏
Would you recommend using pressure treated lumber if it was going to be put on an uncovered patio?

Great video!

I see you used the installation driver. Would you recommend it for more than just setting pocket holes or does it show enough power for more jobs?
Oh dude I use that drill all the time. It is my most used drill. It is plenty capable for more than just screwing pocket holes especially with a high output battery.
Definitely entery level woodworking, anyone with half a sense could build this

This is an amazing thing to make to make money and I almost did it until I saw that the pillows were $50
Haha. Yes those cushions are so expensive. I need to make these then have my wife start sewing up cushions. Then we're talking.
Where can I buy plans
I'm considering this project. But wondering howany hours this took. I wouldnt be doing planing or joiner. Has anyone made these and can share the hours?
I’m distracted by this guys face he’s handsome
Dang kids 😂❤
Gotta love em. Lol
Just buy s4s lumber, if you don't have a planer
Who in the world would pay $1500 for a wood patio chair?
Not me. Lol

You'd honestly be surprised...
More money than sense...
