In Seattle from 12/26/21 to 1/2/22 we had snow and ice on the ground due to constant snowfall of about 8 inches. It was beautiful but we couldn't go anywhere and services like trash were cancelled. People in the midwest laugh but they live mostly on flat lands. Here it is all hills. So it gets old fast. It is now all gone and I'm glad.
LOL, here in Oregon, we had a forecast of a substantial snow storm during that period but it turned out to be really wimpy. I think it lingered up near you guys for too long and lost most of its power before it made its way south. My brother used to live in Seattle but moved to SF a few years ago, was actually in Seattle with his fiancee’s parents for the holidays and he got slammed with the snow. It was kinda hilarious because usually we would have snow but Seattle wouldn’t. It was a nice change of pace. (We ended up getting about two feet in a day a week later though so we weren’t spared in the end. Probably karma for us laughing at the people in Seattle.)
National News likes to ignore Washington weather. No mention of all our passes being closed and record central washington snowfall. The rest of the country has no idea what weather we deal with! I was surprised that they even named Hatcher so soon. Ellensburg wa got its yearly average snowfall in a single 24hr period! Not a peep on national news 😒 stores are completely empty because trucks have been stuck on the Seattle side for days!
@@kristinem9171 Yea, I have noticed that most weather channels either ignore WA or say almost nothing. East of Mississippi bias.
Always good to have 30 days worth of food stocked away. Hope the trucks start coming soon.
Oh my god same here. I usually drive for work about 40 minutes out of my way and let me tell you I still had to come in when it was snowing. Snow is only beautiful when you just have to stay indoors and not do anything. Now commuting in it is a whole different story.
I wouldn't risk driving in that weather even if your a good driver with the best tires , Its the driver coming ahead of you that you have to worry about ..
YES!!! When we get snow here in Portland, OR we never drive. Both myself and my husband grew up in areas that always had snowy winters. So far we have had a little dusting of snow. I always want more. Hubby works from home so it doesn't matter really for us. Stay safe everyone.

I thank GOD this storm moved so fast. Maryland got hit too! 6 inches from this storm, after 2-4 inch snowfall last week. The speed of the storm has been saving us from crazy totals
It stopped in eastern Canada for a long long break ... Its been storming here since 11am or so. Its nearly 9:30pm! Intense.

Love the name Ginger😁 The Storm is just BBrrrr so Horrible for everyone, I could never understand people living in such harsh climates and going through such freezing cold weather and snow storms every winter year after year as it effects every aspect of their lives, heating, transportation, jobs, family's, income, health, basically survival 🥺 lose your power, you freeze...can't get to work you may lose your job...😬

After all this time and with all sorts of new technologies there still is not a hover vehicle that can be used for safer traveling. The dog sled and reindeer sleds are still the safest way to move around in winter.

This was NOT a major snow for most Northern NJ we got 3 or 4 inches. once streets were cleared smooth sailing. Wait for your plows to do their job and then go in. The vast majority of jobs really can afford to open a little later except for emergency workers who are on call.

I watch Ryan Hall on you tube. His prediction went out 4 days ago for people to be prepared. You guys should really not be surprised and sound so alarming. This storm started in Nashville and rolled its way up.

Kind of need to with this kind of weather… but here’s the thing… over here in the Midwest, most school districts IN THE RED RIVER VALLEY either had 2 hrs. late, canceled schools, or had virtual learning… but my school in Moorhead seems to have lost their common sense, Moorhead Schools decided to run on time! Apparently it’s the parents decision on either they want their kids at the risk of frostbite or keep them home
