      @timmyturner6947 Glaube Feitosa more so popularized the technique in modern combat sports as opposed to outright "inventing" it. You might even say his excellent mastering of it and his setup helped evolve and perfect the standard at which it is implemented today. But it was a technique already in existence in subtypes of Muay Thai and offshoots of Kyokushin like Seidokaikan which is the predecessor to Japanese kickboxing aka "K-1" style kickboxing rules. It was actually his mentor the K-1 and Kyokyushinkai legend Francisco Filho who is credited as the first to use it widely in combat sport. He used it so often it was called the "Brazilian kick" for a long time before it was called "question mark kick."

      @@eye_man_danda_best_man4311 it’s hard to say who invented it first as martial arts date back quiet awhile, but it really is just a front kick into a roundhouse so it would exist anywhere those two kicks do. It’s really nothing special to be honest, you sorta just do it naturally when adjusting mid kick if you’re quick enough. The opposite works just as well, faking a round house into a clean front kick.

      I think it's actually refreshing they're stand up utilizes way more combo cause of the weapons they have to master, so him saying maybe while teaching how to move and don't tell someone what going to happen like sight reading in most sports possible but harder to do so instead fight with the major possibilities of maybe and don't second guess, cause maybe it'll work but defense will always get you another fight 😂 but I do appreciate this comment

    • @hungleba3996
      @hungleba3996 Рік тому +6

      That is very important, and it requires speed and that balance to get your feet back together and going for a further attack.
      Only here Saenchai re-chambering or "returning" his leg, but moreso pulling it back by snaking it. You can see when he kicks, his knee points towards the guy in front, and as the guy goes to grab the leg, Saenchai turns his knee 90⁰ the opposite way, which allows him to snake his leg out quick and get on the attack.

    • @PerciusLive
      @PerciusLive 8 місяців тому

      @hungleba3996 wont that be a risk for dislocation if the hold gets any sort of traction? (I dont do fighting and have a interest in body mechanics so i dont know what can happen)

    • @djrsbright
      @djrsbright 8 місяців тому +1

      @@PerciusLive A good question. The risk is diminished because when you re-chamber you bend the knee. And if your leg is caught you won't be able to generate enough force with your leg extended to cause harm. Most when their leg is caught have their knee bent to regain balance and to close the distance.

    • @kishfoo
      @kishfoo Рік тому

      @matthewairey3200 Mwahahaha. If you can effectively escape the impact zone of the strike, that'll work, too. Approx. 6in³ for punches and 10in³ for kicks. So, for a teep, you'd have to zip forward 5 inches in the time it takes you to notice the teep coming and 5 inches before it hits you. I'm top heavy and can flick a front leg teep without telegraphing in about 5/6 of a second. That's why a high check is effective against rib cracking side kicks. But it's only really effective if you're fighting in a square close-leg stance. When you spring your leg up for the check, the impact point will be more than 5in away from where your ribs are, and the kick will lose more than 80% of its power. Wide stance takes longer to lift and makes it difficult to balance on any one given leg because they're spread apart in a triangle against the floor. It works for low kicks, too. But only for close-leg stances. If, on the other hand, you adopt a wide square stance and you did a low-kick check, the check will be in the same strike zone as your planted foot, and you'll receive the full impact. Albeit on your upper shin, which still should be stronger than your opponents mid shin...unless they're Saenchai's shins. Oos!

    It may be a little bit harder to do that due to the context of the fight. By that I mean clothing. It's still good to know, but understand that shoes, unlike the slippery and slimmer surface of his exposed foot in the ring, shoes have more friction and material to grab on. I'm still going to practice this, but keep that in mind.

    I think part of the great thing about this technique is that you are turning your leg into a whip. Literally. So it falls back like a whip. Relax until you make the attack. Relax when you pull back. I would highly recommend that if you wanna be able to do this work on your flexibility. Because you need precision, speed and malleability.
