Aaron Brooks and his family have always been World Class! God continues to bless them for their service and hard work to their teams and wrestling families! Can't wait to see many more championships in college and at the Olympics and World Championships! AB all day everyday!
Seems to be the Sanderson strategy for his big-time wrestlers, don't take too many chances, but get them down early and ride them out for as long as you can. The more points the better obviously, but also, PSU has 3 redshirt freshman who all are going to be big factors in this years NCAA Championship. We could be seeing 8 or 9 all Americans out of Penn State this run, and maybe 5 or 6 from Iowa, and that is an insane possibility but still a possibility nonetheless.
Unfknbelievable. FIVE NCAA national champs. Has that ever even happened before?!?! GEE, I wonder if PSU won the tournament. And four are returning next year, all with two NCAA championships. Now, if cael could pull a rabbit outa the hat with those middle weights. Good to see Dean get a trophy. Iowa and Michigan combined for how many trophies? Oh, that's right, ONE.
From an article I just read: "His seven years cover a redshirt as a freshman despite participating in three open tournaments, an Olympic redshirt as a fifth-year senior, and an extra year of eligibility from the COVID-19 pandemic."
It’s mostly because Covid took a year away from them, so the NCAA decided to give athletes a 5th year. Makes sense for guys like spencer and Yianni so they can become 4 time champs but there are definitely a few guys who should have graduated 2-3 years ago😅
And amine and his brother got into Olympics trying to say their from San Marino its a city in Italy and get this the only 2 wrestlers representing San Marino its total bullshit they weren't close to making USA team so they cheated
@Anth Romer so what! he didn't belong there. USA Russian Iranian wrestlers could say there from other countries and represent them then the Olympics mean nothing. That's what amine did classless. If other wrestlers from USA Russian Iran did this your amine wouldn't of Done shit
As far as I remember, Amine participates in European Championships under San Marino citizenship, haven’t accomplish much so far. And this rule to put the wrestler who steps out of circle in parter position should be eliminated, Olympic rules are quite good at the moment.
Iowa produces mean old fighting dogs but they seem to lack consistency and when it comes down to showtime where it all matters like NCAA finals that lack of consistency always makes them come up short. Iowa might as well just start a MMA program I feel like that would be a better fit for the kind of guys they produce
Theres the saying "the match was a lot closer than the score"... well this was the exact opposite. One of the most dominant 2 point victories for Brooks. Honestly it wasnt even close.

How bad is it that you have to be in college for 7 years to try and win a title😂🤣? Must be nice. I sure wish I could have stayed in for 7 years and become the very first 5 time all American.
Smart strategy in the second period. He knew homeboy was gonna get an escape so he purposefully takes it out of bounds. Especially when the ref won't call stalling. Cheap but effective. I honestly think the Pennsylvania State wrestler could have lost just on all the stalling that wasn't called. Ameen did an excellent job none the less. Especially with escape and great scramble towards the end. Very close match.
At what point do you think he was stalling? Amine for a majority of the time was straight running out of bounds. If you don't want to give the escape wouldn't you follow?
The only thing more inevitable than Penn State having atleast one guy on the podium each year is atleast one of them giving a corny ass speech saying its all "glory to god"
Casual wrestling fan that doesn't know a whole lot about the sport here. While Brooks' rideout is impressive - I'm not trying to diminish what he did, but don't you feel like he was stalling? I think it was obvious that all he wanted to do was keep Amine on the mat the whole match and Brooks made no attempt at all to try and get back points or attempt to pin Amine. I found that a lot of the other championship matches had a similar issue too (aside from Suriano, Lee, Yianni, and Steveson) - most guys were wrestling not to lose rather than constantly attempting to get points. It seems when some guys got a lead they were content with just not letting the other guy get any points on them rather than constant pressure and aggression. IMO that's the wrong mindset.
