In the book, in addition to a _Deinonychus,_ there was a _Tarbosaurus_ (which was the "main" dinosaur instead of _T. rex)_ a plesiosaur that attacks a party yacht, a _Scolosaurus_ that fights a motherfucking tank, a _Dilophosaurus..._ and a sexually frustrated _Megalosaurus._ I am not even making that up.
I remember when my Dad brought this home, After I begged him to rent it, we looked at each other halfway through the movie and just laughed so loud it was hilarious I looked at him and said can we watch Jurassic Park again?!!
Well to be fair, this was before the term "carnosaur" was redefined to encompass a more specific group of dinosaurs. At the time, dinosaurs like T-rex were indeed classified as carnosaurs.
Decker Shado Can you review the Carnosaur (film series) Carnosaur (film): The first film in the series, Carnosaur was released to theaters on May 14, 1993. Loosely based on the John Brosnan's 1984 novel, Carnosaur. Jane Triptree (Diane Ladd), a mad scientist specializing in agricultural genetic engineering, uses chickens from the plant she works at to breed dinosaurs, eventually attempting to create a virus containing dinosaur DNA that will impregnate women with dinosaurs and kill them after birth, so they can wreak havoc and exterminate all of humanity, which she believes needs to be destroyed, so that the dinosaurs may essentially rule the planet once again. Now it is up to the alcoholic security guard and an environmental activist to attempt to stop her and the rampaging reptiles before the military kills everyone in town to quarantine the virus, or before these Mesozoic monsters can achieve their goal in world conquest. It was a modest box-office success, reportedly grossing $1,753,979, despite a limited theatrical release. Carnosaur 2: Directed by Louis Morneau and written by Michael Palmer, Carnosaur 2 was released to theaters on February 23, 1995. Starring John Savage and Cliff De Young, the film features a group of technicians called in to investigate the power shortage at a top-secret mining facility, only to discover it is actually a remote nuclear dump site where the government transported the dinosaurs from the first film. The dinosaurs got out of their holding area and ate the scientists, and now the technicians must try to survive while avoiding a radiation leak and trying to keep the dinosaurs from escaping the facility. The film was released to DVD on April 18, 2000. The Deinonychus was replaced by the Velociraptor in this film and later on. Carnosaur 3: Primal Species: Released direct-to-video on December 17, 1996, Carnosaur 3: Primal Species was directed by Jonathan Winfrey, and starred Scott Valentine and Janet Gunn. The film involves a group of terrorists who attempt to steal a large shipment of Uranium from a cargo ship, but they instead are all chased and killed by cloned dinosaurs that were being contained there. Then a military team is sent to investigate the disturbance, when they encounter the vicious beasts themselves. The film is the last in the series, but was followed by an unofficial sequel, called Raptor, about dinosaurs attacking a small town. Raptor was released direct to video as well, and used a heavy amount of footage from the original trilogy. Raptor (film): Released direct-to-video on November 6, 2001, Raptor was directed by Jim Wynorski. Using recycled footage from the previous three films as well as some new footage filmed in Agua Dulce, California's Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, the film focuses on a small town sheriff (Eric Roberts) and an animal control officer (Melissa Brasselle) investigating a series of deaths by genetically engineered dinosaurs that escape from a nearby laboratory (mainly Velociraptors), while also dealing with their creator Dr. Hyde (Corbin Bernsen). The film has since gone out of print and is largely considered to be the hardest film in the series to obtain, however, it can occasionally be seen on the Syfy channel. The Eden Formula: Released direct-to-video on September 1, 2006, Was directed by John Carl Buechler who did the special effects in the other Carnosaur films. The Eden Formula used recycled footage from the first three films, but also uses its own footage as well. Starring Jeff Fahey, Tony Todd and Dee Wallace. The plot revolves around a group of spies who accidentally release a cloned Tyrannosaurus onto the streets of Los Angeles.
Remember how the clamshells at Blockbuster used to say "You'll love it, guaranteed!"? I had to take them up on it after this one. This was before the days of Asylum of course.
Another great review as always! I say again, why you aren't famous is beyond me. Not only are you entertaining as hell, but I love how you correct scientific inaccuracies also. Something I've been known to do myself. Keep up the good work! I am sure it will pay off and get you somewhere. :)
Also fun relations facts: -This film's villain is played by Diane Ladd, whose daughter was the female lead in Jurassic Park. -Clint Howard has a small role in this movie. His niece was the female lead in Jurassic World.
Hey Decker! How I started watching you? I was just looking for reviews of classic movies like Starship trooper and you came up! I then notice the awesome hair and your magnetic personality! The review was Spot on everything about it was right on the money I really enjoyed that review so then I said, "lets see if he got any other good reviews and you did!" So far Decker Shado you're my favorite reviewer on youtube besides AJ because he does Raging game reviews lol I watch Chris and Jeremy and while they are entertaining for some reason I like you and your content a whole lot more! Keep up the good work oh and 1 more thing! I would luv if you reviewed old school games ^_^
20:15 regarding what u said about needing herbivores you’re correct Maybe the plan was to do carnivores first to wipe out humanity then do herbivores, maybe in containment till they reach adulthood so they had somewhat a chance at survival Even if it’s not stated what the plan was other than wiping out humanity with dinosaurs
@Decker Shado I think the girl was trying to act like she was going into shock, which can happen from rapid blood loss from losing a limb if a tourniquet isn't applied immediately
Interesting little tidbit. The Eunice corporation actually was a central (and evil) company in another Coreman produced feature. The 1990 film Brain Dead. If you haven't seen it Decker I highly recommend it, as well as Frankenstein Unbound.
It could be a shot at anyone really as it’s an overused trope popularized by AVGN(way back in 2004). Joe is honestly probably the last in line to use it.
I remember this wackadoo movie the ending disturbed the hell out of me as a kid it was my first time watching a movie where both protagonist die and there is no happy ending
In reality...this was my first horror movie, since at a young age I became nerdy over dinosaurs...my family went to the old video rental store and it was in the good ol buy one get one free area. They picked it up, let me watch it...and despite being around three, I fucking loved it. I guess I must've understood it was fake or something, as despite all the gory and horrifying scenes (Fuck the jeep scene...) I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen
I see you have found and saw this...franchise....yes....welcome to the dinosaur mockbuster world Decker. nothing will prepare anything for the second or third one.
So, let see if I understand. In Carnosaur there is a Deinonychus and a T-rex but no Carnotaurus? Which I (wrongly)presumed is what the movie was named after
Another great and funny review of a movie I used to watch back on the late night Sci-Fi channel, waaaay before they changed it to SyFy. I have to say though, Carnosaur 2 is actually a true guilty pleasure of mine. Mainly because in my opinion it is like Aliens but with dinosaurs, granted I haven't seen it in a few years but I highly recommend at least a viewing of it.
Someone please tell me how Gene Siskel gave this a thumbs up and Silence of the Lambs a thumbs down. Siskel actually praised the goofy plot. I mean, from a So Bad, It's Good perspective sure, but that's like saying The Room is a good film because it's funny - it's plainly obviously that goofiness is not intended in either case.
I actually praise this movie for calling the Raptors what they actually are, Deinonychus as far as their size goes for the species about 12ft long about 3ft tall, LOL still over exaggerated in this movie, but it's what they should have called the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park, seeing that real Velociraptors are actually roughly the size of a large turkey at about 1.5ft tall and barely 6ft long, bigger is always better I guess, and the name is just flat-out easier to pronounce for the masses, but neither of the actual Dinosaurs are remotely close to the almost 8ft tall 250lb dinosaurs featured in the movies.
I enjoyed this movie. I thought that the idea of the virus that makes women lay dinosaur eggs was a rather unique idea. Frankly the movie could've escalated even further if more dinos managed to hatch from those eggs. In the end, the movie is entertaining as a simple B-Dinosaur-Movie; not holding a candle to Jurassic Park, but pretty unique in its own right, and fun enough to watch.. Unfortunately, the Sequels to this movie got more and more lazy, to the point of Carnosaur 2 completely ripping-off the climax to this movie.
well at least the way the dinosaurs are created is more realistic via reactivating dormant genes still though your only end up with at best an archaeopteryx like creature not a damn deinonychus or a t rex
I wasn't the only one who noticed the Eunice Corporation in Brain Dead, right? Does that mean Brain Dead and Carnosaur take place in the same universe? Man, Roger Corman attempted a cinematic universe long before Marvel popularized it!
Oh my god I love this horrible movie such a guilty pleasure of mine. Do you plan on doing the squeals too? On a separate note do you have any plans for another "Let's play" series?
Christopher Fields I do have one of em, but I am not sure exactly where to fit the others just yet... and yes, I do plan to do a Let's Play of Alien Isolation.. and then, some other things.
The Carnosaur book is hilarious. Most of the dinosaurs kill because of sexual frustration, one thinks a semi truck horn is answering mating calls and ends up stepping out in front of the truck and gets killed. The book is fantastic compared to all the garbage of the movies. Also a lawsuit happened over how in Canosaur (which came out before JP) used chicken DNA to fill in the gaps of the dinosaurs and frog DNA used to fill in the gap so they stated theft or something
Heh, was hoping the NC would review this as some point, though, I enjoy your videos to, especially with he Aliens series. I rememebr on the NC forums every one was suggesting to use the joke "he tried to kill me with a forklift."even though those are skid-loaders.
I'll admit Kinda Liked this one: it has a very Dour Tone even for a Horror movie which mix well with its high tech meet the south setting, and deep tint of Sexism. Sbarge and the rest of the cast is all pretty good and there is something creally creepy about Ladds Work and her death is pretty fantastic-so i think i would rate it higher. Your right to compare it to the assyulum but this assylum giving a little more shit.
They seriously need to re-shoot shitty movie in theaters for a cheap price. I'm fairly sure there has to be an audience for these. Back in the days we had a small theater that projected older movies. Costed only 2.50$ per person and at that price it was risk free entertainment. Sometime they featured very bad knockoff and that is when I'd go spend my money there. Man, the shit I've been exposed to in that theater was prime quality. Laughed my ass off everytime I had that chance. Seeing a bad movie is one thing. Seeing it on a giant ass screen with ludicrously loud volume is even better. Sharknado also proved that making a bad movie ON PURPOSE can totally works out.
Hey, Decker. Been loving your reviews as of late. Just a quick one; was it my imagination, or did u post a vid of u & Creepy taking on that god-awful DBE movie, cause I saw it a couple of days ago, and now it's no longer on your channel.

I am not even making that up.
Safe to say the book was better
And there was two T-Rexes at the very end of the book
There was also a baby Brachiosaurus that was left alive and is to be exhibited at a British zoo.
Can I know how to buy the book?
I am from Asia.
The one time Tarbosaurus got its time to shine over its more famous cousin.
And the movie replaces it with T.rex anyways.
RIP Tarbosaurus.
I remember when my Dad brought this home, After I begged him to rent it, we looked at each other halfway through the movie and just laughed so loud it was hilarious I looked at him and said can we watch Jurassic Park again?!!
I imagine the internal damage and bleeding from laying a giant egg is fatal
That thunder clap reaction was GOLD!
*The myth, the legend, the film that had it’s footage reused more than any other.*
Cough cough gamera movies well the 70s to early 80s
Yeah gamera super monster was almost entirely stock footage
T-rex and Deinonychus? Those aren't even carnosaurs! We need Carcharodontosaurus up in here!
Michael Meyer i love you
And my boi, the Allosaurus!
Well to be fair, this was before the term "carnosaur" was redefined to encompass a more specific group of dinosaurs. At the time, dinosaurs like T-rex were indeed classified as carnosaurs.
Glad to see someone with the same idea.
Carcharodontosaurus is one of my favourite Theropods
i love how many videos you produce in so little time. Thank you!
Michael Lena Mainly I was catching up to where I was supposed to be.. now, I just have to get back to having them on time every Wednesday.

Clint Howard (you should know who he is if you're a b movie fan ) is also Ron Howard's brother (the lead woman from Jurassic world is his daughter )
Ron Don Dadda G Yeah I know that. Howard also appears in his brother's movies like Apollo 13.

Hey Decker,
Thanks for doing this series mate. I recall I requested this a while ago, so glad to see it now. Good job bro.
Cheers
I think I remember Fangora magazine declaring this movie to be "What Jurassic Park should have been!". True story!
