'Scar Tissue' (RHCP) with delay. So I'm learning this song tonight for Thursday night's practice, and I came up with alternate shapes... because I stubbornly refuse to use a capo. Regardless, this is the first church song in nearly a decade that I've had to refer to a tutorial, lol. (Before that, it was a Lincoln Brewster song.) So I will give you that - it's a fairly challenging piece... especially when using the lower root notes. I tip my hat to you, Jesus Culture guitar dude. PS. If anyone in the church finds out *I* had to refer to a tutorial for a *worship song*, I'll never live it down.
I always tell people "there's really nothing new under the sun," but it's a cool piece. I play I-IV-vi-V progressions for church (and a small few worship bands like Jesus Culture and a couple others are actually enjoyable to listen to while learning), but as far as listening to music, these days I'll go for bands like Toska (Rabea's band, featured on UA-cam). It's good stuff, and it has a fresh originality to it.
onevoiceinc I hope you can know that our gifts and talents God gives us are for his honor and glory (if you are Christian, if not then hope you come to Jesus the only way to salvation)
So I'm going to guess you're a piano player first based on the fact that you referred to your pinky finger as the 5th finger... that would make your thumb your first finger, which most don't use. Am I right?!?
Even after five years, that riff still gets me and gives me chills. To this day, it remains my favorite worship song.💖💖
It’s a praise song
