I grew up in Detroit, my dad would take me to the auto shows in the 50s-all that chrome under the bright lights was something to see ,you would have loved it-thanks for the video of your beautiful Buick
What an INCREDIBLE amount of fine detail ; the Production Costs must have been horrendous ! I'm glad that a few of them survive however - we will never see it's like again .
Good job on the video! I used to polish the chrome and stainless trim on my Grandmothers 58 Buick. It was gold with white top and had clear seat covers. It was quite a polish job for an 11 year old at the time.
A great video again! Well done. Harley Earl put enough chrome on that car to Sink a battleship. The Buick Limited for 58 actually cost a little bit more than a Cadillac
This came from the period when GM's divisions were encouraged to compete not only with the other Big Three but with one another. Chevy competed not just with Ford and Plymouth but with Pontiac. Pontiac competed not just with Dodge and Edsel but with Oldsmobile. Oldsmobile competed not just with Mercury and DeSoto but with Buick. Buick competed not just with Chrysler but with Lincoln/Imperial/Cadillac. And Cadillac was the "Standard of the World".
Ive been in the market for these for the past 22 years, sadly nobody wants to sell me my dream car. Kind sir, i come to you today to ask if i may purchase this car from you? Id like to baby this beauty till the day i die and pass it down to my son who is awesomely enough a 1958 Buick die hard fan as well 😊
With the '59 Cadillac, this assault on good taste will unfortunately be the legacy of the decades of Harley Earl's work at GM. Bill Mitchell dumped all of this old man's taste pronto when he took over, giving us the '63 Riviera, '66 Toronado and '67 Eldorado.
Could you imagine driving this beautiful vehicle through downtown Palm Springs on a warm evening with the top down?

KING OF CHROME 👑 KING OF CARS 👑
very nice.. AC was super rare on the enclosed cars in that era, it's extremely rare on a convertible.
Great color on a beautiful car

Actually, no. Remember that there was no safety equipment, no emission controls, no crash testing.
Love all the Chrome !!

If I ever win the powerball, I'm getting one of these.

Thank you. You always show such beautiful cars, impeccably restored. I notice that you seem to prefer GM. So do I.
Thank you so much for watching! Yes i prefer GM’s and aspecially 1958 GM’s!
Just excellent
The chrome on that thing weighed as much as most modern cars.
2000 POUNDS OF CHROME BUDDY

I wonder how many of the 839 had air suspension?

Built for export ....??? Why else a 200 km speedometer ?
You need to pull a tanker behind to keep enough fuel on hand
