As far as Christmas tracks go, it's stuck in the middle* of decent and pretty darn good, the heist itself is also pretty good considering just last week we got a two-day heist.

For all you wondering why the tune in the stealth part sounds familiar, it's the Christmas hymn "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". Although, it shouldnt have been hard to notice. Also the very end of the assault part echoed "Carol Of The Bells".
Whilst you're here and Twitter is too many clicks away can I ask why this track has a stealth intro that only contains a whooping *one* (yes, one) piano 'beat'*? (the file is also only 80kb) You can hear it right at the beginning of the video before all the other instruments kick in with the piano. It's literally just one hit of the piano. How comes this track has a stealth intro that lasts about a 1/4 of a second? Lol??? Even weirder when *usually* (at least recently from what I can remember) your tracks have been split up into 7 different phases and this rogue 80kb file extends it to 8.

The stealth part of this song is one of my favourite tracks in the entire game. The rest is cool too, but the lowkey piano is so chilling.
I know it's taken me several years to come to the realisation, but this heist track's Control portion seems to use the same drums from the build-up of Locke And Load, and the Anticipation and Assault portions are similar to that of Drop Zone - both of Locke's first heists. Brooklyn Bank marked the first proper heist by Locke post-Reservoir Dogs heist and, therefore, post-beginning of the Kataru saga. It's pretty much showing the start of a dire situation for the gang under Locke's leadership, and the track reflects on that by being a dark reprise of both Locke And Load and Drop Zone.
Talk about telling a story through music. Viklund's a clever musician and it definitely feels intentional.
I would love to see an extended part of the stealth, by far my favorite stealth tune since Pulse.
And Pulse needs the "And now we run" treatment and get its own assault track one day.

Actually part of the reason why I started with the soundtracks, heist voice lines etc. videos (but admittedly not a big one :^) were to help you popular UA-camrs. I know at least one (James Black) who uses my vids and doesn't directly credit me and I have no issues with that (this isn't me being petty I honestly have no issues with him not crediting me), so it's the same with you.

Wholesome to an extended level
This song....it feels so...Payday 2 you know?, like back when razorback and kicking ass and taking names and where is the van were a thing.
No nostagia blasts, no super obvious references or remixes, no songs that only could work in the heist the were made for, this is a song that works by itself, that has that simon touch and that fits the whole artistic direction payday 2 underwent went it switched from gritty "new in the business" idea to the "veterans return to the playground" feel payday 2 has, fun beats, i might just keep them as heist music for a while no matter the heist.

Maybe they're waiting until they've released every heist to make sure to get all the new songs in at once? If so that's kinda frustrating but it makes sense at least.

It's amazing how tension and suspense was added to a Christmas carol. You can feel the layer of uncertainty of who or what awaits along the way of the Payday crew - but it's nothing good for sure!

I'd say I feel a bit bad doing a bank heist around Christmas. But the banks never felt bad about hittin' us with cops. So let's hit 'em hard and hit 'em loud.
For some reason I find this one track a bit weird - but genuinely great -, no idea why, also reminds me the songs/remixes used in Project Eclipse maps. It feels eeriely familiar in some way. But eh it fits the whole secret thing I guess, finally an interesting story arc.
Assault sounds like good old release PD2 tracks, actually the last two heists feel like Overkill are finally coming back to the roots of Payday (2), and I can only be excited for that. Hopefully the Secret isn't an ad for the sequel this time (who am I kidding, it will).
