Freaking love refrigeration, best job ever..
Standing on a roof in the morning with a cup of coffee, enjoying the sunrise. Can't believe they pay me good money for that.. HVAC / refrigerator it the biggest life hack there is
I know exactly what you mean
The greatest job in the world retired after 38 years. Mainly supermarkets and marine refrigeration
I’m going g into summer 37. Still have 6-10 years left. Lol
I retired after 34 Years mainly light commercial/ residential. I miss it everyday. In fact I'd like to go back if I could find someone willing to hire a 67 year old.
I need me a hook like that! Going up & down the ladder 15 times is getting old dude 😂

Loving refrigeration, didn't like hvac much.
Our install guys have the navac power flaring tool. They like it so far.
👍👍👍
🤘⚡️🤘✨✨✨
The vapor port on the recovery tank works really good for blowing out condensing coils when you ran out of nitrogen! Haha just kidding.
I overloaded the motor on my Hilmor recovery pump the other day and now it won't work, probably my fault but still I'm not impressed because it's only about a year old. I had a G5 TWIN that suffered so much abuse before it stopped working. I might need to try the NAVAC one next, I have the NAVAC cordless flaring tool and cordless vacuum pump and both of those are awesome.
I love Refrigeration but I would be lying if I said it hasn't Flucked me up mentally a bit, It can whoop your butt sometimes.
Indeed
Mini split hell !
Haha
Nice work done, where is this place?
Several 480v new RTUs have 120 transformers in them
Good point 👍
🚓🚨 someone didn't purge their hoses before opening recovery tank
Never do if I’m not re using it 😂🤘😂
@@NorCal-refrigeration me neither. i'm never reusing refrigerant. why waste your time. tanks just going to the recycler. tiny drop of air bubble. 😂.
No need to. You'll pay the same whether or not the tank has air in it.
Is there an actual supply house that'll pay for pure refrigerant like the EPA tends to get newbies to believe?
@@natepeterson7145 I get charged 75$ for the tank exchange
I am going on 61 age .l got out of the service van in year 2000 before I was in service van sine 1983 now just passing time in till retirement. In work they aren’t to concerned as yet of passing all the knowledge of what learn since construction phase of a building.
Hooking your cord to that will smoke that suicide cord😂
🌴🤘☠️🤘🌴
I was gonna ask where to get that hook. I work rooftops everyday at a school system.

Perfect Job for " Dave's Portable power supply box ? " You should do a vid & see if it will run the NRDD. i'll bet it will.😉
At work, that is...😂😂😂! La Bueno vita!
I had a helper hook up my cheater cord to a 480 unit one day, but i stopped him before he plugged my recovery machine to 277.
Btw Dave have you tried the Milwaukee top up 120V inverter thingy , would it power the Nerd ?
I have not. You have to see how many watts the recovery machine requires then match your inverter and battery load to run it.
uh-oh, supertech card point deduction. you didn't purge from the unit to the recovery tank first. 🤣
even though you're not reusing it. lol
Busted. 🤘😂🤘😂🤘😂
Hopefully I’ll be retired before all that VRV stuff spreads everywhere. Doubt it though lol
The NRDD only *just* beats the MR45 going by the spec sheet, interesting you think it smokes it. I can't get the NRDD in Australia anyways.
Question for you though, how do you deal with hacks? New place I started working for as an apprentice seemed alright at first, they do a reasonable range of work and all that. But we swapped an evap on a big pallet storage freezer the other day, and the boss made us open the system back up without even a vac. Made the excuse it was to protect the product, but the freezer was still running fine on the other unit in the room.
Called him out on it, and he said the dryer cores would sort it out, wasn't going to pull the charge, and properly vac it.
I've watched enough guys on here to know that's super hack level workmanship, but I can't keep job hopping till I find a good company...
Your boss is just showing you real world 🌎 stuff in all honesty. You try to do your best every time and in some cases you have to make stuff work. I’ve built txv s at night ( wrong power head ) to get units by. Job hopping is a killer. But in the real world we all hack a bit. Just being honest.
@NorCal-refrigeration appreciate the reply. In my opinion it didn't need to happen, the room wasn't struggling, and a 30 minute vac would have made the world of difference.
I get where you're coming from, though. I think I'll stick around, and just try to do better than the examples they've set.
@@Thermoelectric7 exactly 👍
Dave, I noticed that there was a disconnect for the condensing unit. Is the unit not 208/230V ?
It was demoed
As fate would have it, at least you had the long extension cord. I always look forward to watching your videos.
Ole Samsung DVMS's on your adjacent roof. Yes lord help us with more Samsung.
Just let me work on a roof top and don't rush me with no bullsh*t paperwork and I'm happy like a pig in sh*t !
Exactly
