Oh, for sure, Southern Food will do that to you. Soul food is also an excellent description of Southern food. It is comfort food. Panda, I haven't forgotten you wanted suggestions for an easy dessert. When I get home, I will prepare something that you can make.
Hi Helen. It’s good to see you. This video is making me hungry lol. I love fried chicken, greens, mac and cheese, cornbread. I agree it’s different for everyone. Have a great day. 💕💕
I really enjoyed this video!!! I would love to see you make some of your cornbread and also your greens. I’ve never made greens and would love to see how you do it. Thanks for sharing this ❤
Mama rarely ever made greens because Pa didn’t like them, but I remember loving them when we came to visit you all. I always remember that cousin dinner that we had at your mama and daddy’s house (Now yours), I think it was around Thanksgiving time and you and Grace had made all these vegetable dishes from vegetables that you had grown in your garden. It was just the most delicious meal. I don’t even think you served any meat. I mean, there was every vegetable under the sun. You also made fresh ground wheat bread I believe. Yummy yum! ❤
Your Pa came by it honestly, being raised in Brooklyn. You're right; it was around Thanksgiving at my parents' house. There was a hayride, too! Good times!!
I totally enjoyed your video and the subject.. I think of southern food is fried potatoes corn bread and pinto beans.. I have never had pot liquor I know that's not the right way of spelling that But I love The corn. Bread❤❤
Thank you Mrs. Peach. You describe Southern food as a meal my mother cooked once a week. Pinto beans, country fried potatoes and cornbread!! Oh, so good!!
Hi Helen, I'm from Kansas City, and we've got Southern food, but how is it (the food) like in Tennessee? I know y'all do different types of food (we don't just do barbeque, alright). P.S I like what your doing on this channel as your legacy. I find that really sweet of you. - Brett
Hey Brett, Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I went to Google to see what people in Kansas eat. Then I remembered there is also a Kansas City in Missouri. Would you share the state where you live? I saw foods for Kansas and Missouri that I haven't eaten. I would be interested in sharing about the differences in the foods we eat. What is your favorite evening meal?

I could use some juicy fried chicken right now! Lol
Hey Buzz, Fried chicken is always a good choice with your favorite sides.
Chuck being from California had never heard of Greens when I met him ! It is one of the few things he doesn’t care for !
Even after being here in the South for so long! Well, they're not for everyone. I'll make sure I don't serve him greens!
@@helencantimagine I first time he came for dinner and my dad made turnip greens he asked me what they were !!
@@SusanMann-mu7ft Oh, I love that story!
