The placement & yellow/orange color suggests it's DSTC which lights up if you disable it manually, you can do that in most Volvos. Many car enthuasts do while "test driving" because they think it limits power, which it doesn't.
@@nov2263 There are two overlapping methods for TC in these Bosch ME7 controlled Volvos. The short term is timing retardation. The long term (relatively) is load request reduction (practially this means limiting boost). Timing retardation is trimmed in 100ms intervals. But the load request trim is slower. I don't remember exactly how slow, but somewhere in the 1s mark. This means that when you regain traction, your boost is limited and you need to rebuild it. With these tiny 16T compressors that isn't really a big problem. But you'll notice it for sure and it will impact your performance. Besides that, DSTC is a little bit too aggressive in these cars at times. If it thinks you're sliding the tiniest amount (if you really want to be fast you want the car to rotate in a controlled manner), it will interfere. Usually sending you in a different direction then you anticipated, harming both fun and speed.
Fantastic sports cars, great 5 cylinder turbo growl and the seats are incredibly comfortable
It still looks great!
Did you notice the warning light at 3:05?

@@Laylander so.. did I get this correct: ON = safe, OFF = fun
@@n00blamer well, yeah. But isn't it useful to understand why?
@@Laylander It was interesting, thank you
