I had a 2020 SR+ sold it during the pandemic. Got rear ended by a semi truck a week ago in my work vehicle. I went that weekend and ordered a UR LR RWD Model 3.I don't feel safe in my little Mazda anymore. Estimated delivery is the 20th to the 30th of September. I got $8,500 off the price of the vehicle ($7,500 tax and $1,000 for being a previous owner) and the 1.99% APR it's a no brainer vs a used vehicle. I want the range. Don't need the AWD really. Range always depends on load, temperature, driving habits and a number of other factors. Higher acceleration will lower range and running other accessories like A/C, sentry mode, ..etc will lower range as well so rarely is the actual range going to be what the estimated EPA range is especially if you doing a lot of start/stop driving as opposed to highway driving. But, I can tell you that driving back and forth 20 miles each way to and from work, my wife gets almost exactly what the mileage is supposed to be. In other words, if she drives 20 miles mostly on the the highway, she uses approximately 20 miles worth of actual range.
Yup. While it will be my first EV, I rent Teslas for work trips often. The frustration is that Christmas got delayed a week. Was supposed to get it on the 20th, but maybe not til early this week.
I currently own a 2019 SR+ and essentially my only complaint is the range. I've made it work just fine with charging for 20-30 minutes at level two chargers and grabbing a bite to eat if I need to, but this LR RWD variant would solve 99% of the range anxiety I have with my SR+. Don't really need AWD or the increased amount of speakers for the sound system. This video showcased the range quite well so thank you for that. I think I'll be pulling the trigger on one in the Spring/Summer of next year. 👌
Thank you. Im awaiting delivery on mine. The 1.99 is a great deal these days. I'm not the norm, I prefer a manual transmission in traffic and the regenerative braking lets me enjoy the on off throttle feel a manual has. Though, so much stronger.
Thanks for the video! Im coming from an 'older' vehicle as well (2012 Chevy Volt) and man it felt like I was truly in the future test driving this thing. I just got this car in Vermont and bought the self driving package and it's been great. The nav data is the biggest issue right now for FSD out here, and a few other edge cases like caution tape which it didn't see, dirt driveways and then the usuals like parking lots and speed limit decision making. I also noticed the car tends to cut into the other lane in turns when nobody is there which I'd imagine is because people do that a lot but it's not good driving although it's not a risk necessarily. If they solve those and add reverse support it's basically ready. I think it also needs to be able to read road signs better for lanes as I've had it change lanes too slow when the sign clearly showed which lane it should be in.
Do you like the non felt panels in the interior? I purchased a long range RWD model 3 after test driving the AWD and I am sure I will love it when it gets delivered, but would love your impression.

Look from abroad but the RWD LR seems a great sweet spot. They seem to have improved massively on build quality or we can hope so. The fact the range estimate is good some other brands are way off. If only you could get this for £30k in the U.K. or even close to the US price it would be on the drive. Many happy and safe miles in it and enjoy the new purchase.
This will become the best selling car/trim in many countries I’d wager. The amount they’ve probably sold this month alone in the US with the 1.99% APR and the tax credit could be staggering. The absolute best value by far. There’s a reason they held it back for a bit. As far as the interior, the major differences between this one and the AWD LR are the lack of the PREMIUM audio system, no alcantara on the doors, and no floor mats (everyone should buy the all weather mats anyways). All in all, this trim is gonna destroy.
Awesome, i bought one too exactly like yours last week, will be driving from California to Tucson on Labor day to checkout ICBM Museum. Love the performance.
