Got the Savor One in February last year and really love it, especially the entertainment category! Lots of use on movie tickets and sporting events, especially to pay for my Seattle Seahawks season tickets. Go Hawks!!
It's an excellent stand alone card, and an impressive compliment to the Venture X. Those base multipliers are highly competitive. But that Uber partnership (which I hope renews for at least another year) is unbeatable for a no annual fee card. Awesome eaner for sure. Great vid!
Got approved for it few days ago, the student version but still will get the benefits and get 50 once I spend 100. Which now days won't be hard to obtain when food has raised. Also switched to banking with Cap1 and only thing I'm missing is a savings which I have with Amex already.
I'm with you, the Savor one is a great no annual fee card. While I do prioritize my gold for spending, this is a nice backup to have. The uber benefits work together with use of both my amex credits, and the 3% entertainment is nice as well since I don't have coverage there. I think the Cap1 Duo is simple/easy value and my VX is always on me. Enjoyed the vid! 👍
I am a the amex guy. Because of my situation it just makes sense. That being Said at the beginning of the year I Iccky shuffled my way to a saver one and I just recently got the venture x. I figured what the hell they did not cost me nothing. Since the venture x is a visa a card they've been using it at costco. I hope to get my 2% there.. Thanks for the video
This is my favorite card. In nyc Uber eats is just as expensive as any normal pick up. I put as many things as possible through Uber eats even drug store purchases and also I take many Uber rides. For 10x points on all this is unheard of and my biggest earner combined with the vx.
I got the gold at the beginning of the year and honestly, I'm probably not going to renew it next year. I realized that I'd much rather prefer cashback over getting points lol

This is one of my favorite $0 annual fee cards right now. It’s great to have no foreign transaction fee and the ability to earn in elevated spending categories internationally

Capital One customer service is terrible ! It’s been a nightmare to get a recent trip insurance to reimburse. It would be great to get your take on Travel insurances ? Pay extra at the Airlines while booking , coverage provided by paying with top tier credit cards or buy general travel insurance?
I’m curious what you mean when you say capital one is terrible with trip insurance. Which card because at least with the VX the insurance is provided by visa infinite so it basically has nothing to do with capital one.
Uncle Luke, after watching your last video, I just picked up the venture x early this month, and I just got a pre approved email for the 90k Amex gold offer. I was thinking to get the gold and in a year cancel and pick up the savor one after, you think that’s a good idea. Trying to do a trip next year and I already have the everyday card to hold Amex points if they are any left over. I also may get the aspire or platinum later in the year
I love the Savor One Card, got it around 4-months ago and worked extremely well. I accidentally switched it to the VENTURE ONE, will have to wait if I am able to go back to the Savor One or apply back to it in the future.

The SavorOne is somewhat on my list, but idk if I’ll pull the trigger because I have a few cards that overlap with the reward categories of this card such as the CSP, Amex Gold, Bilt…but who knows, maybe one day. A good suggestion might be to get the saver card which usually has a better sign of bonus and pays 4% for dining. After the first year you can downgrade to the free saverone card.
I’m debating on getting the Citi premier (Strata now) and the custom cash, but perhaps getting the Savor One might be the better way to go to pair up with my Venture X? Thoughts? Still worth getting if you have the AMEX Gold?
I replaced my Amex gold with the savor one and premier. But I don’t think one would need the gold and one of the other cards unless you’re shipping overseas a lot

The Savor/Savor One has you covered for an entire night out. Dinner, Movie, Bowling, and even the Uber home. Whether its an adults only night or hanging with the kids.

I was able to “upgrade” my venture one to a savor one after I got my venture x. I recommend trying that if you have another c1 card. No intro bonuses but no credit hit and you keep your apr and credit limit

FYI. Well Fargo Attune card has 4% back on sports/entertainment. May be worth picking up for season tix plus the other categories. I picked it up to round out my set up to now get 4-5 percent on all of my big spend categories ( anything more than 200/month).
I am considering cancelling the AmEx Gold, but I don't care for the Capital One transfer partners. I prefer the Chase and AmEx transfer partners for my current usage. We buy groceries from Costco and Target more these days so I have to figure out what I will do.

This card is the catch-all card I need for overseas expenses. A Savor One/Sapphire combo will be interesting; let's see if i can make it work for my current lifestyle.

True. I have the Venture X and they messed up my account and deleted my bookings . That trip happened to be delayed and through Visa for trip insurance has been troublesome.

This is my backup plan if the Hilton Surpass ever loses grocery.. My relationship with Capital One has been 100% solid for 12 years. BTW, I canceled the Delta Reserve yesterday, the "benefits" do not work as a sock drawer card, not worth my time as you mentioned.

Yeah I think you may be out of touch with how much a family spends on groceries. Yes I can confirm, I’m spending between $1k and $1.5k a month on groceries. We eat out a couple times a week.
If I use my Savor One to order groceries from Uber Eats at a supermarket will I get 13x? 10x from the UberEats purchase and an additional 3x for groceries?
Just upgraded from my Quiksilver one card to Savor one. Earning just 1.5% on groceries wasn’t cutting it. The upgrade was easy and I’ll be enjoying that zero anual fee with 3% purchase on those groceries.

I wasn’t aware of any points devaluation. I just got 7 points on some Viator purchases. I haven’t used it much so far this status year. Thinking of some different strategies

See if you can buy tickets through cap 1 dunno about season tix but individuals for games and concerts are often on there and they are 8x which is sweet!

The Savor One (food & entertainment) and WF Autograph (Gas & Transit)are my backup travel cards. Both have no FTF and no annual fee.

I think it’s 4x entertainment as well but you’d need to spend $9500 annually on that to benefit above the AF. It also metal. Haha.

Yeah I think you may be out of touch with how much a family spends on groceries. Yes I can confirm, I’m spending between $1k and $1.5k a month on groceries. We eat out a couple times a week.
If I use my Savor One to order groceries from Uber Eats at a supermarket will I get 13x? 10x from the UberEats purchase and an additional 3x for groceries?
You won’t earn in two different categories. You earn 10x
Just upgraded from my Quiksilver one card to Savor one. Earning just 1.5% on groceries wasn’t cutting it. The upgrade was easy and I’ll be enjoying that zero anual fee with 3% purchase on those groceries.

Hey Uncle Luke! Great video and it's timely since I'm waiting for my "application cooldown" with C1 after getting a VX in January. I guess I can wait patiently until June before I start firing off applications again. As a side bar, I'd be interested to know how your AA status method of using just the shopping portal is going. There was a points devaluation across the board on that website recently and I'd be interested to know your take on it. Have a great day!
I wasn’t aware of any points devaluation. I just got 7 points on some Viator purchases. I haven’t used it much so far this status year. Thinking of some different strategies

I had more than a year between getting the VX and s1. I’ll be taking about the gold card next week
Do you think the savor one is better than the AAA credit card? I hear mixed reviews on the bank that holds the AAA card and it’s difficult to get cash.
I’ve actually only redeemed the cash once and I basically just redeemed as statement credit. It was easy.
See if you can buy tickets through cap 1 dunno about season tix but individuals for games and concerts are often on there and they are 8x which is sweet!

That’s tough. I’d go VX because it can really stand alone.
Whichever one you can get on their pre approval tool so you don’t waste 3 hard inquiries on an inquiry sensitive lender
