Great video guys! I'm not someone that's really interested in VR headsets but my wife is. Apple's vision pro is definitely not a ripoff by any means. The argument versus the Meta Quest is fair but I don't see them as even close to the same product. The Meta Quest is only a single snapdragon processor vs Apple's using both a M2 and R1 chip. The chipset alone is already so expensive it offsets the $3500 price tag. It also seems like Apple's headset has so much more capability potential (as you've agreed on the video). The sensor array is already much more than any of the existing headsets that we've seen it has 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones. That's a lot. True it would be nice to have a hand/wand to work with it but I imagine that's in the pipeline (not to mention it already does work with a mouse and directly with any of the mac products). Also have to agree with you guys, this is a "PRO" model eventually there will be a much more consumer base model, an "Air" version which will be closer to the price of the Meta's offering. One fun thing to think about, in 2015 Microsoft sold their HOLOLENS for $3500. If you think the Vision PRO is expensive...look at the HOLO LENS 2. The regular version is $3500, but there's two models more expensive than that!
Excited to see Apple throw their weight around in this space, even if this iteration isn't for the average consumer. Re: Battery, pretty sure I've read in a few spots that the battery itself plugs into a power outlet, so you can get unlimited time if at a desk or near a plug. It's not something that will require an add on. The real question is about comfort in long term sessions. I love the idea of editing photos or videos on this thing, but wearing it for 4 or 5 hours straight? I can't see that with this iteration of the product. In a few gens when it's lighter and thinner maybe.
Sooo are you saying that after the dad captures the moment with his kids, he can’t remove the device and enjoy MORE moments with his kids?? You honestly think human beings lack the capacity to do BOTH? C’mon guys 🙄 No doubt, in the future viewers will be watching SOMEBODY’S podcast on AppleVision in 3-D shot by their camera-person, if not yours 🤷🏾

Exactly... not sure if this is the version that would be best for long 8hr edit sessions... still exciting nonetheless!
