While Floor does of course use some nasal resonance when belting, I think she uses much less nasality than most vocalists do in their upper belting range. Her belting uses much more epiglottal twang than nasopharyngeal, excepting cases where she specifically wants a more nasal sound to fit a particular part in a song. I think that's a significant part of the reason her upper belts generally have a darker and rounder timbre to them than most vocalists belting in that range, who tend to sound *very* bright in that upper belting range.
@xtjx Low belting is done in chest voice, but mid-range and high belting are done using mixed voice, which is a mix of both chest voice and head voice, with less chest and more head voice needing to be used in that mixed voice as one goes higher and higher in their belting range. That's a separate discussion from what I was commenting on above, and I wasn't suggesting that Floor uses any more or any less chest voice in the mixed voice she uses in her upper belting range,.

I absolutely agree! Marko seems to be quite often overlooked by reactors.Floor is an awesomely powerful,versatile singer and I cannot rate her highly enough but Marko is uniquely talented and has added so much to the Nightwish sound over the years.He and Floor complemented each other so well and I am so sad that he is no longer with them.
I always dismiss those kinds of reactions as not genuine and just trying to please the masses. It's as if they were given a homework: 'react to Floor'. Floor deserves every bit of recognition she gets, but to treat Marko as if he doesn't exist is unforgivable.
Thank you for your analysis. I would also recommend you listen to this song as it's originally performed by Tarja, and every old Nightwish song. Not for the reaction, bc I am aware that there are a lot more Floor fans (and so it's better for you to do a reaction on Floor), but for yourself, to have a starting point. I think it's always good to know the original, so you can hear the change in style and listen to how the new singer adapted to the old material (for me this is a valid point not only in Nightwish, but with all bands who changed vocalists and also with the covers of the songs).

I like other singers or bands, but Nightwish has something unique. I'm really hooked to them since their second album.
