I used to sing in a choir for a number of years. When I saw Floor perform this song acoustically I was blown away. I described the song as a vocal obstacle course. The note changes, diction, dancing up and down the notes as you try and maneuver the staccato notes... It's like singing a tongue twister. I can see music teachers using this song as an exercise for more advanced students.
The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes van Dahl and their daughter Freja. This is Tuomas way to say thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 and making us great again
"How's the Heart" might be the best question, one can ask from anyone- everyday friends and even strangers in these days, or in fact every day, no matter what's the situation. You might get someone to burn the rope, dull the blade and keep going… Tuomas wrote this about empathy needed between people. He also wrote in verses to honor Floor's and Hannes finding each other and their daughter Freya...
"She makes it sound like one thing!" Thanks for the technical explanations you add to that. I appreciate Floor for always conveying atmosphere and narrative through her voice, and never casting stereotypical in your face emotion through acrobacy. Like some other vocal heroes seem to do so often...
This is one of my absolute favorites. The message is so beautiful: kindness, caring and love. The album version is very good, but this is more emotional due the intimate acoustic setting. Well done! ⛄👍
Might be worth your while visiting Floor's UA-cam channel where she sings some super covers and chats and gives vocal tips. By the way Floor doesn't indulge in vocal gymnastics for the sake of it. She sings what fits the song unlike people like Dimash who shows off all the time regardless of whether it is necessary or not.
Spot on, Clive! And I'd like to add that the same applies to Emppu as well. He doesn't show off but plays solos that fit the song and the overall performance of the band. Yet everyone knows what a talented guitar player he is. And basically the same applies to any other band member so that this can be seen as the special Nightwish spirit which makes them as awesome as they are imo 🤘🏻.
She made it sound so easyyy and effortlessly. I tried singing it in my room and my sister literally knocked on my door and asked if i choked and almost died or something. Damn, the shame was rub against my face is hard and far...
The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes van Dahl and their daughter Freja. This is Tuomas way to say: Thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 And, Floor can sing to your soul !!! Fact NWSU.🤘😍🤘
Grandgrandpa here (German) This is how in Germany People from the Middleage have fun. Barden (Singer) was going from Castle to Castle and Entertaining Kings and Queens.😉
To see Floor's softer side you really need to watch her version of Shallow (Lady Gaga). It is so different from Lady Gaga's and with so much emotion you will probably need tissues. ua-cam.com/video/Ff33IIjohTo/v-deo.html
Floor kills as usual. Always fun to watch you try to describe the indescribable. Your grins, mumbles, and head shakes say it all. Would like to get your take on Billie Eilish's cover of Michael Jacksons' "Bad". I think it might be one of the best things she's ever done, and Finneas slays doing the music and back-up.
Nice commentary. If you want some of that singing with a metal edge, I suggest Bless the Child from Wacken 2013. It's Ethereal headbanging at it's finest.
Thank you very much! Especially NOT trying to sing like Floor! But respecting the artists and their amazing performance. Yes this is a special song for Floor and her family. Is there anything Troy can not do?! Best regards from Finland!
She sure bangs here, y'hear. And with whole shebang she bangs too:) There it's like the heart bangs more, the heart part of this song intensifies - especially with the official video.
Please react to an all female heavy metal band from Japan called Lovebites. They sing in English and have two phenomenal guitarists. Please do their song "A Frozen Serenade" Use this link: ua-cam.com/video/v3dRckDw1GM/v-deo.html

Troy is now deaf in his left ear and the smile he gives at the end says everything 💕

Wonderfull reaction. This is FLOOR. Your analysis is great. One reason we called her the QUEEN. Greetings from northern Germany.
You should also check out her acoustic version of "Nemo" from the same session. Her and Troy along with the guitar are simply awesome!

Yeah, I feel exactly the same way about Dimash.
@@guillaumejacques-pouliot8088 which is sad because he is an amazing singer but always has to show off his party tricks.
@@clivematthews5296 exactly! It doesn't serve the song at all

Such a nice reaction to watch. I really love all the detail in your analysis. You heard exactly why we love Nightwish and Floor. A beautiful song!
Troy & Floor.
So good.
Your commentary was excellent!
I have watched this video many, many watching your expressions as you listened to it .. was a delight
You obviously haven’t watched her stuff on BESTE ZANGERS If you have not heard her sing softly before.
Nice to hear Nightwish in a more coustic setup :-) They can do it all.

I've been away from this channel for some time. Big Brain Singer changed a little bit hahaha
The Angle telling a story in heavenly notes. She's speaks from heaven.

You are impressive! Thank you!
This might have been your best review yet. I just finished watching it.
Floors heart is grand, We all fit in it.
check out the acoustic version of Nemo, I think you will like it too. And the "Beste Zangers" version of her cover of "Shallow"
Thank you for this great reaction and analysis 😊👍
Thank you so much. Great, meaningful reaction.

Why don't you stop every 10 seconds??? Oh, wait.
Isn't this recording a little bit fast? Sounds strange to me.

Floor calls herself a vocal technique nerd
Right, and once again a teacher who hasn't got a clue because a metal singer can't really sing.
What are you on about?
Wrong, she does. Floor can still supprise us all, and we all need time to discover the rich world of Nightwish and so on.
Who is this guy? 😂
