I have this on my GX460 and it works wonders onroad. Very stable when make turns at speed despite it being a tall vehicle. Feels much more stable than my Sienna.
That's true. I experienced this in the Land Cruiser Prado (Toyota equivalent to the GX). Cornering is so flat and composed like in a sports car.

Don't make my mistake. Get kdss. It makes a difference. I have the 2021 4runner trd off road premium. At the time toyota was offering kdss but there was a waiting time.

As much as nice to have this feature on your car as it is headache to maintenance the suspension of car that have this feature .. you will pay double what you pay for the normal suspension
With XREAS, this is true. KDSS however is very reliable.
@@andybub45 well, I mean at least you can toss the system if you choose to replace the suspension with something else.
3” lift is fine if you have KDSS. You need to find a shop that knows what they’re doing.

That’s where you start to run into problems.
Also, kdss requires no maintenance, just check for leaks anytime you get under the car
@@miggyv6856 had my 3” lift since 2015. No issues whatsoever. Make sure you go to a reputable shop. You don’t want to go more than 3” but you can get away with 3.5”
KDSS Is only for Toyota Trucks and Toyota SUVs
Sounds great in theory, but in practice it's a really bad idea.
the hardware sits low so reduced your ground clearance by about 2 inches in the front
insanely high repair cost - $4,000+
worst of all is in most off road conitions, unless you're crawling at 5 mph, the ride quality will be atrocious. going down any dirt road with washboards will feel absolutely horrible, due to the kdss system locking up thinking it's on a paved road.
You cannot go wrong with a regular suspension system, this kdss was a band-aid toyota made to try and reduce rollover accidents. You don't want this.

What year and vehicle? Gx460 or 4Runner?
@@crunchyblack2224 2012 4Runner. It was the entire KDSS system, I just bought Bilstein 6112 and 5160 for $1800 CAD. Much better ride and still provides the stiffness on road

I recently bought a 2023 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS replacing a 2016 SR5 Premium. The control and ride is much better in my opinion.

How can you correct the lean caused by kdss? I have a one inch lean towards the passenger side. I’ve tried every gimmick I’ve seen and nothing works

yep, its all marketing lies, for driving fast on washboard roads, it's terrible. normal non kdss is best.
KDSS is terrible if you lift your 4runner higher than 2.5”
Just get spacers for the kdss system and it’s back to original geometry
@@erichdiebenow4727 Kdss spacer only gives u more wheel travel when offroad. It does not fix kdss lean.
@@godzilla633 so I just lifted my gx460 with bp51s 3inches in height about a week ago. So now I can actually see what happened. the spacers definitely helped but like you said there is still a little lean however it isn’t nearly as bad as other non spacer kdss lifts I have seen.
@@erichdiebenow4727 That's because the person that installed your lift opened the KDSS bleed valves to release pressure on the front swaybar, but didn't rebalance the KDSS afterwards. Most "techs" that install aftermarket suspension systems on KDSS-equipment vehicles follow this process, but have no clue on how to re-balance or reset the lean.
Had a shop install a Fox 2.5 system with a 3” lift and they know what they’re doing. You need to find a shop that works mainly on Toyotas.

Let's sell the Genesis X, the cheapest entry-level vehicle, by making a gear rod. The hyundai 2021 Grandeur, k5 and 2019 k9 designs aren't that bad. If you put the gear bar on and make it the brand's entry line, it will sell quite a bit, and the reason why you don't want to buy a car from a Hyundai is because there is no gear rod. And it is broken.
Does Hyundai/Kia even make a suv with a full frame? with a solid rear axle? I dont think they do. So its a four wheel drive car (crossover)for all intents and purposes.
