Arroz con Leche is a staple dessert in Latin America, and many other countries! This recipe is easy to make, and easier to love! #bigmamacooks #arrozconleche #arrozcondulce
Ingredients ⬇️
1 cup rice
5 cups water
3 cinnamon sticks
5-6 sweet cloves
lime peel
1 cup coconut milk
½ cup evaporated milk
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of salt
raisins to taste
In India we call this 'kheer' (in Hindi) and 'payesh' ( in Bengali) very tasty
In Kerala too we have something similar, it's called "payasam"!
yeah kheer and gulab jamun is my favs
Its little simpler than this.
We call it kheer in Pakistan too
Thanks for sharing...
Oh! I love this! My mom taught me to replace the water with milk. It tastes so good and it’s a little more creamier.
In Brazil we call it "Arroz doce", it translates to "Sweet rice", really good, if you cook it right the rice should be soft
Raisins are delicious, especially when they're rehydrated a little like in a recipe like this.
In India we have something like this. It's called payesh/payasam/ kheer depending on which part of India you're from
I'm from Portugal and it's my favorite dessert too, we call it Arroz Doce here
Aqui no Brasil também chama-se arroz doce.
Si tambem aqui
In Brazil, we call it _"Arroz Doce"_ ( literally: *sweet rice* ). It's very typical in the middle of the year during the _Festa Junina_ or 🎉🪁 *Day of San John.* 🎊👒
Hey cousin! This was so delicious and i used my rice cooker😅 it took me like 25 minutes in total.😊
My grandma, who helped my dad raise my siblings and I, made rice pudding for us maybe 4 times a year. She's 91 this year and still making a recipe similar to this.
Once every 90 days lol i know yall looked forward to that
@anneececarter Absolutely! I'm going home to visit this spring and I'm going to make her my recipe to see how much worse mine is. Lol!
Hello I’m happy when I read your comment. I pry your Grandma will live long and healthy years. Can you tell me what’s your grandma recipe differences between this recipe. I appreciate 🙏🏼 thank you
No sé si tenemos este plato en Filipinas, pero gracias por compartir la receta, prima. ❤ Quiero hacerlo unos días.
love how so msny different cultures are talking about their countries similar idea. it most likely started somewhere in asia like china or india (they had rice and cinnamon first) but its cool how whenever something gets brought somewhere cultures develop their own versions of it
Oh, I prefer it with raisins!!🍇 That was simple!
The skin on top was always my favourite part. Same with custard.
Whenever my mom made cornmeal porridge I used to let it sit for a little just so I could eat the top lmao
That looks amazing 🤤😍
This looks heavenly!!!
Yummmm!! Thank you prima!
My sister in Christ how can you add raisins to Arroz con Leche
OPTIONAL
In poor families it’s a cheap sweetener to add . Try it with dry fig
It taste very good with raisins and goes well with cinnamon spice.
In pakistan we call this "kheer" and damn this is such a comfort food esp with silver sheets and almonds and esp when served with mud plates
In india it's a really famous dish usually prepared for birthdays for good luck we call this payesh
That sounds really delicious
Def a PR recipe
Arroz con Leche looks awesome and tasty..!! Thank you for the update, Tasty..!!
Feels like Indian kheer, but things were different a little, kheer includes milk rice and sugar with dry fruits optional, and this is pretty different but similar at the same time😉❤️👌
Me sube la bilirrubina!!❤
In Brazil people love rice pudding! But with raisin... No way!
Very nice
This is my fav lol
My mom just made arroz con leche
Rice as a dessert 🤔never heard of that before, definitely looks yummy, i wanna try it
It’s good!!! Milky, easy and sweet. Yum
In England we have rice pudding (but it doesn't look as nice as this, ours is basically just rice, cream and sugar)
Even tho u hadnt heard of it, there was enough sweeteners added it makes sense its a desert
I always stir the skin back in as opposed to removing it
In persian we call this “sheer birinj” or atleast my family does😅 and that translates to “milk rice”! In Swedish it’s “risgrynsgröt” which just is rice porridge!
Not the "top milk layer" 😂😂 i hate that part
Oh hell no
IT LOOKS SO GOOD 🤤
i i recommend Turkish sütlaç too
What kind of rice do you use?
Any white rice will work but I'll say long grain rice.. idk what y'all call it but we indians call it Basmati Rice
The joy I got when she called me cousin 😂🥲 I was like yes girl, we’re family! 😂😂❤
Looks jummy
nah here in Albania🇦🇱 we call it Sytjac and it is delicious
You didn’t remove the cloves??
So damn good.
This is actual sütlaç but more complex
Milchreis is so amazing ❤❤
In Trinidad we call this Sweet rice or Kheer
In spain we dont use coconut milk, just milk.
Hey COUSINNNNNNNN!!!!!!! 💕🙌🏽💕🙌🏽💕💕💕💕🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
We eat the same thing in India. It's called many names but in south India it's called Ari payasam (rice payasam)
Hello fellow Mallu 😁
@@841-zainabshanafarook7 Hello back at you, even though it's been a year.
Umm imma try this
Looks good in the making but leave the raisins out it just doesn't look right almost like raisins in potatoe salad
OPTIONAL
Nice version, we don't add lime peel
I love how she try’s to say arroz but say aros
Boil em, mash ‘em, stick em in a stew
Naaaasty why raisins
She said it was optional. Idiot
OPTIONAL wtf is wrong with ppl
🎉❤🎉
Hey cozzin
Kheer
I've never seen with a lime peel
So um this is boujee all that my family has ever done for arroz con leche is:
Rice, water, cinnamon sticks, in the pot. Cover till rice absorb. Milk and sugar in the rice.
That is it.
Vos sos de los que le ponen pasas a la empanadas también, no?
We call it Kheer in Pakistan. Pakistani one is without the initials; cinnamon or lime peel.
Why not use powders for clove and cinnamon?
The flavors aren't the same, it just tastes different. Although to be honest we've never used cloves, raisins, or limes for our recipe, but to each their own I guess
The flavor isn’t as potent with powders it’s very I guess you could say watered down hope this helps😊
Uuuuummmm.
Raisins ?????
Aluminum pan?
known as kheer in South western Asia.
Just did it and 5 cups of water was way too much, had to take rice out before mixing the rest of the ingredients…but good overall
Don’t ever call it “hispanic” just call it what it is “Arroz Con Leche”
Pudding should smooth not chunky
Cookin with Cardi
This is called kheer in India
The worst arroz con leche that i see in my life…
Nice try, but the recipe it’s fully wrong.
It’s simplier than this folly
Wtf its how she wants to make it..thats a ridiculous take.
Me sube la bilirrubina
In Mali we call it seri
I hate raisins in mine. I don’t recommend adding them
No just Nooooooooo signed 🇵🇷
😍👌🇵🇷
Hole lee fhuk that’s a lot of sugar
why the raisins 🤢
Some people including myself like it with raisins
In india kerala we call it "aari payasam" also known as"kheer"it is mostly made in celebrations like eid, onam etc🫶🏼
You lost me with coconut milk
Easy to make arroz con leche. Proceeds to add all these extra ingredients not even in the original dish.
Never have I heard of Arroz con leche being called Hispanic Rice pudding. Why call it Hispanic?
its hispanic cus thats generally how they make it and the name is in Spanish.......
Never add coconut or raisins, that’s gross. Always stir the mixture until it setups. Do not walk away from it. Never walk away from it.
Dont yuck her yum..talking about its gross. Hush man
Adding Raisin is not gross and goes well with cinnamon
En cuanto he visto el agua ya me he cagado encima. Vaya mierdón de receta te acabas de sacar de la manga. Mis ojos.
ETA PAYESH!! JODI KONO BENGALI ETA "RICE PUDDING" SONE, BHAI CHAAD THEKE JHAP DIYE DEBE
No
Como le vas a agregar pasas de uva, no puede ser. Como arruinar una receta tan deliciosa. Ya c que es opcional pero ya que lo suguirieras arruino todo el video.
She said OPTIONAL relax dummy
That's the worst recipe of Arroz con Leche that I have seen in my life. I am from Spain and this is not the original recipe or not even close.
No one cares where you’re from. Not everything needs to be exactly like the original recipe.
Mf doesn't know Arroz con Leche has no oficial recipe
Maybe coz it's not from Spain
Each country has their own versions 😐
oh cause you have the very first original recipe for arroz con leche😊🙄😒
I downvoted as soon as I saw raisins.
She definitely has a dad
True Hispanics measure with their eyes
