  • In this video, I show how easy it is to paint WW2 Italian Alpini Uniforms on 28mm miniatures. The techniques shown in this video is something that any level of painter can follow and all you need is a steady hand and a pointy brush. This guide will go through all the steps I took to achieve my iconic Italian miniature. The miniature shown is from Warlord Games - Bolt Action Range and were kindly provided to me by the awesome team at Warlord Games.

WW2 Italian Infantry can sometime seem a little confusing to paint as a lot of the equipment is similar in colour but hopefully this tutorial will help with that.

From Italy: really a great job! Just this: the feather on the hat should be black for common soldiers and withe for officers.

Thank you so much! I know the colours are off but I'll be redoing this tutorial soon to be more historically accurate! Thanks for the information too, it's something I had no idea about!

@@paintingpanzers Thanks, I'm glad being of some help for a great painting job! I add just this about Alpini's feathers:
"The feather on the felt hat has been the emblem of the Alpini since 1872, the year the corps was founded by Captain Giuseppe Perrucchetti. About 25-30 cm long, it is inserted on the left side of the hat, slightly tilted backwards.
It is a raven (black) for the troops, an eagle (brown) for the non-commissioned officers and junior officers, and a goose (white) for senior officers and generals.
The wool disk, or tassel, on which the feather is inserted distinguishes the battalions of each regiment: the first battalion has a white tassel, the second red, the third green and the fourth blue."

Looks great, the blue-grey is a more interesting choice than a neutral grey. I have seen some examples painted in German Field grey as well.
