Can I say I'm new customer I did my 1st order it went spot on just had look it says delleverd and the itoms was outside waiting for me a big thank you 5stars from me to milk and more
Delivered milk for 37 years, took early retirement due to my depot closing....franchisee of the year for my depot twice back in the 90's....started with Unigate in 1979 then taken over by Dairy Crest and then Mueller..
where was your unigate depot?

250 customers in a night bloody hell thats crazy
my son delivered to shops for Walkers crisps, Central London and East, for 2 years. This job looks much much easier. Little traffic, no or few parking issues, minimal customer interface *although my son thrived on that, and enjoyed the banter with the mixed business community). But night shift takes it out of you - I did 24/7 shift work for a good few years. Brilliant that this man's children have parents at home and are not farmed out. Milk is good. Support UK farmers!
This guy is currently training me, and he really does love his job and is a credit to the company.

@@johnlongwood5709 why? I’m in my second month currently. 6 nights a week is draining and I can feel my social life becoming non existent. I am considering looking at other jobs too. What were your reasons though?

What is the hourly pay rate ? For about 250 deliveries, how long would the deliveries take ?

Why?
Easy run that, doing 300 plus at the Min for another company and as above, I spend most of my day asleep after school run. Anyone thinking of being a milkman, seriously find work elsewhere because it's not worth it. Oh and you definately don't get a break time
300 actual drops a night??? How the hell do you manage to get around?
That is ridiculous!
@@joeleadbetter8736 changed job since then but yeah 300 drops a night, literally ragging a VW transporter flatbed around from 9pm till 5-6 in the morning. Heard of McQueen's dairies? Slave labour, literally

@@joeleadbetter8736 theres barely an support where I was. I injured my knee one night and all I get from my team leader was "see what you can do". Would say it's one of the worst jobs I've had. No benefits apart from free milk, poor sleep, bad management, salary so get paid the same regardless
@@joeleadbetter8736 to be fair 300 is easily do able. depending on your area. i am a milkman and average around 250 to 275 per night start at 9.45 at the back home in bed by 3.30 to 4.30 am
How do they fit product for 250 stops in that tiny little truck? We hit about 200 customers a night here, but 700 plus products.
The load on that truck looks like it'll serve maybe 50 customers at best.
Can fit about 3000 pints of milk on
@@wsmproductions5872 Wow, impressive. Our trucks here in the states are quite a bit bigger. But we only carry slightly more, about 600 half gallons, 150 quarts, and 30-40 pints. Plus bread, cheese, yogurt, seasonal fruits, and few dry goods on a normal night.
With room for about 50% more if needed.

Are the vans all Manual driving? I have a manual license but driving a manual van makes me a bit nervous
Vans are electric no way there manual
how long do i have to hold my car licence before i can apply? my licence entitles me driving 3.5t
Are vans automatic ?
So you have to deliver to over 200 homes and still have to work in the warehouse and fill your own van beforehand. Ridiculous!
Don't you like work ?
I’ve been doing this 2 months. The loading isn’t great. It would be so much better if drivers could come in to the stuff pre loaded. I especially on heavy days where there’s around 180 customers. I think it’s Ocado that provide pre loaded vans which is nice.

Days off your spend time sleeping so really no time for family
6 nights a week . No time for family as you finish SATURDAY MORNING you spend most of it sleeping and then back again for Sunday night.What he loves about it i don't know????

@@jctv108 M&M have said it is 40 hours per week but I noticed on some of their job adverts that they offer a salary rather than by the hour??
Probably lying about how many drops. Then there is the Saturday morning finish and Sunday evening start. Why would anyone want to do this job? It's looks worse than being a Hermes/Amazon delivery driver!
It's worse than any delivery job I've done, and I worked for Currys nearly 10 years
If you have no family and literally no social life this is for you. If you value your sanity and self esteem stay well away. Pay is bad, management are even worse. This video is propaganda

That is ok pay for a peaceful job, just driving round delivering milk during the night lol.... And he said his misses works throughout the day so im sure they're doing just fine for themselves.. Not all about the money tho mate, its about finding something that works around you and your misses and your child like in his case
They wake the whole neighbourhood up at 4am, they leave their engines running, sort out the milk right under your window, so clink clink clink for 10 minutes. The vans pollute the environment with their noisy diesel engines, terrible company.

@@joeleadbetter8736 Most are, some are still diesel as the runs are further than a electric range allows. And drivers take time to ensure they don't disturb anyone.
