Update from SLH November 2022. Our loaders have been super successful and are beating what was once an impossible kayak loading problem for a lot of people. No other loading device handles a heavy kayak, especially a Pro Angler as easy. We know our workshop has struggled to keep up with demand but we hope to smooth that out soon. Thank you to those of you that now own our SLH Kayak loader for your support. On a side note : Adding a strap around the middle of the kayak when perched on the loader for assurance is a good idea. Especially if parked on broken ground. For me, so far, I haven't felt a need to use a strap as the kayak stays put and its easy to monitor it as you load. Also, as far as accidents go there have been no "Zombie Kills Of The Week" so far. Cheers, Scott
Id prob use a strap mainly if there was a strong wind whils loading or unloading it could easy push the kayak off it..i mean when your under it wheeling the winch you cant hold it
Sorry mate, we keep selling out. We are waiting on components to finish another batch right now. We have a waiting list if you like. Note : Australia only at this stage. Cheers
Hi JS. If the Rubicon has a standard 2x2 Tow Hitch socket then it can work. The distance from the centre of the hitch pin hole to the inside of the upright shaft of the loader is 64cm. If this doesn't give you enough space from the spare wheel then just add a tow hitch extension piece. There are plenty on Ebay and Ali Express.
Hi Ray. We can do it and have some new stock right now. Shipping to the USA is expensive though. Expect an added $500 AUD. Email us at sales@slhobie.com.au.
The circle of life. Heavier kayaks mean newer and more expensive loading systems. New/expensive loading systems only encourages them to build heavier kayaks. More weight, more money, more solutions, more weight, more money, etc., etc. There's a hole in the bucket Dear Liza, Dear Liza.

We need to be able to get that here in the USA.
Cool idea. But I think Id at least want to use a strap to hold the kayak because it sure seems like a could slip off of that and fall pretty easily.
Great bit of gear.
Bloody brilliant cobber!

Would this work on a Jeep Rubicon with a 37" spare tire on the back ? How far is the 90 degree up from hitch?

Does it pull apart to shove in your car?
Yes, the cradle has a single pivot screw that can be removed so it will pack down flat in two pieces.
