@@TheTroutGuy1 anytime.... careful with the pliers, you'll break a few hooks, the more you do it the less you will break. Hooks can also break on your vise. Be careful, take your time. Only requires a little pressure.
Man that looked like an awesome experience in a beautiful town. Im glad you and Tyler got to bend the pole down a few times. 🔥 Video brother... and Go Vols beat the gators!
My family and I visited Gatlinburg in August and the water was so high from several storms and water in that area was seriously moving I didn't even try it. How was the weather leading up to these conditions. Just trying to plan a better trip time. I enjoy your videos...thanks.
Last weekend of September I’ll be trying my luck. Looking forward to it. What weight reel and rod you use? Bringing my 6 weight but was going to fish with my 3wt. Thinking it will be better for the small streams
I use my 5 weight. I have a 4 weight but it’s to small for the fish in Gatlinburg. I would use your 6 weight when fishing downtown. And 3 weight for the park! Let me know how you do
We went up to Gatlinburg 2 days ago and got skunked. There’s fish in there. But the water is very low and the fish are very very picky right now. I would suggest hitting the park and using dry flys.
I’m planning a trip with my dad to gatlinburg for the first time. I’ve trout fished in WV before but I’ve never fly fished we usually use rooster tails, eggs, or small hook jigs. Do have any advice so I can try to make sure me and my dad have a good time fishing in october?
Sure! It should be pretty good in October. I think they start delayed harvest so they’ll be plenty of fish. The biggest tip is to move holes. Don’t sit around in one hole. Catch maybe 2-3 in one place then move up river. Beaded eggs work well. Squirmys Stone flies Flies that are flashy. Rooster tails work great also. I think during delayed harvest you can only use artificial bait. And one hook. So keep that in mind. If you wake up early you can find some free parking on river road. Goodluck!
Y’all, I have something amazing I wanna share with you guys! It’ll be in the next video. It’s a game changer.
Got him on some fish and another solid video, love to see it.
Thanks dude!
Heck yeah, that was a great day. I'm sure Tyler really appreciated you putting him on some fish.
It was fun!
Great video and lots of trout! Thanks!
Getting it done bro!
Awesome video Matt very good very very very. You guys got on some fish absolutely awesome
Thanks dude!
Come on dude,,, get those barbs pinched down. You catch just as many fish. Enjoyed watching.
Do you take pliers and squeeze them down?
@@TheTroutGuy1 I use needle nose pliers, or my tieing vise to pinch barbs. All barbs get pinched before any material sees the hook.
@jimgollach6202 nice man, I’ll definitely do that from now on. Thanks for the tip!

@jimgollach6202 thanks again Jim. I’ll practice!
That was some 🔥 looking insect photography on the moth and stonefly man!
Hi I came here from Old Biker Dude’s channel. It was cool watching you two fishing together on his channel.
Thanks! I have a video from my point of view. It’s 2 or 3 videos down the list. That’s for coming over 😊
Great video as usual!
Thanks Glenn!
Those burg stockers spoil them for park trips :) nice video TG
I know! Unfortunately I’m not allowed to guide in the park 😒
But it’s easy practice for someone that’s new to the sport so that’s a plus
Darn, Gatlinburg's got some nice fish! Gonna have to make a trip up there one day. Great video dude!
You won’t regret it! Thanks for watching

Usally if we get .5- 1 inch of rain it’ll get high.
Type in Gatlinburg water level in on google and it’ll tell you how high it is!

Goin tmrw, have you ever had luck in the creeks or do you mainly just fish the west prong?

@ yeah they got a little rain yesterday but also that’s probably the worst day to fish since they stock Thursday
