He's been married to his Lady in Red for 43 years now.
And their daughter won for Ireland..Miss World.
That was Our song..... my husband passed away 2 years ago after 31 years together, but it is still our song. Thanks for playing it. 💕💕
May he rest in peace.
I know your feelings, this song became our song, and I miss her every day.
oh wow!!! cant say nothing.
Im sorry, to hear, be strong ❤️❤️
Knew this would be perfect for your romantic heart. Enjoy your day India, you sweet human.
I clicked super fast ngl
This song holds special place in my heart and I cannot listen to it without tearing up. lol Us old dudes are ridiculous
That's sweet. I found The Tower felt so tragicelly romantic. Chris always makes me feel like I'm in a fairytale.
Being sensitive is not ridiculous! I love it too!
I feel it too even after all these years. I become a mess listening to this song. It also holds a special place in my heart. Another older dude feeling it!
Yep.
Nothing wrong with tears. Us old dudes know love and pain can be close companions.
I've been with my wife for 20 years, we've raised our kids, I love, cherish and adore her still. I buy her flowers, always buy her gifts and tell her I love her every single day
nicola reilly She is one very lucky lady!
I remember the first time I fell head over heels for a beautiful woman. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I went to a friends house after work and as soon as I walked through the door, i saw the most amazing, most beautiful woman I've ever seen. When she looked back at me and gave me that smile. A smile mixed with a blush as she could hardly look back at me.
The radio was playing and people were sitting and talking, drinking wine. I remember sitting there trying to find the courage to approach her and wondering how I was even going to mutter one word to her without making myself look like a complete fool. I finally got up and my heart was pounding and I had millions of those butterflies in my stomach. That walk to her was like in slow motion. I looked at her and she looked back at me. I asked her if I could dance with her. She gave me her hand and smiled but spoke nothing.
Seconds later, this exact song came on and I remember thinking how perfect that moment in time was. It was the longest slow dance of my life and I loved every second of it. I remember looking into her eyes as she pulled me closer.
It was the most passionate moment of my life and I'll never forget it. We didn't have to speak a single word but we both knew we had to be there at that moment.
We finally started talking and just sat there all night. I don't even remember who was around me or what other songs were playing but we just sat there and talked for hours.
The memories of that very special evening will forever be in my heart and I'll never forget.........
Just what every woman wants to hear. 🎧🎶
Yes!!!🥰🥰🥰
Pretty sure men would like it too. On that note: You look great Rick, hope you're doing well.
Flossie710 Well thank you for the kind words. And you are right, men want that also. 🎧🎶
@@ricktassone6529 💋 I used to think this song was embarrassing and cheesy. Listening to it now, I find myself thinking that it conveys one of life's greatest feelings very well indeed. It's quite lovely in a cheesy way. We should all be so lucky to feel this at least once in our lives. Peace out my brother
Flossie710 Not cheesy at all and you are right. 🎧🎶
This is mine and my hubby's song. I'm currently in and out of the hospital due to a mass on my left lung. Last time I was in I pulled this song up on my tablet and my hubby and I slowed danced in my room. It was magical. For that brief moment in time it we just he and I, no fears, no stress, no tears, just love and peace. Loved your reaction as always beautiful girl.
How are you doing now. I have been battling cancer. I'm in a 3 yr following after pulling through when I wasnt given a day to live.
Hope you are doing well.
It is amazing how vast is the library of undiscovered music which lays waiting for the newer generations to discover. Of all the Reactionaries spread across the world, India is one of only three I like to watch as she truly appreciates the music she hears
He wrote this about the moment he saw Diane, his future. It’s sad that most men have no recall of what their wife was wearing the moment they met.
After my husband and I married, he told me about the first time that he noticed me. He had glanced out a window while I was moving into a nearby apartment. I had on a nice red dress and my hair had highlights, that’s one reason why I love this song. As soon as the song started, the memories flashed back.
Because in the real world love doesn't work like that lol.
This song tears me up. It reminds me of my daughter when she went to prom. She looked stunning In her red dress. She really took my breath away. I'll never forget how beautiful she looked.❤
Awww!

My late husband loved this song. I remember when we were on a cruise he ask for it to be played so we could dance. I miss him so much.
Chris de Burgh and his wife Diane have been married since 1977. Still together :-)
Wow they got married the year I was born neat!
This was played in every mall at all hours in the mid eighties.
😂😂😂
I think of my wife, every time I hear this. 35 years, now.
When I first heard this, I just longed for someone to feel that way about me. It blew me away!!
This brings tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart...so beautiful...reminds me of my parents..ALWAYS dancing..holding hands...Even when my Mom could not walk on her own..They still had a last dance on their last anniversary together..my Daddy holding her up ..swaying to the music..my Mom smiling the biggest ever❤ Daddy was gone 2 months later😢 Love and Miss them...
Valerie Jo Jimenez What a beautiful memory! Your parents were lucky to have such a love!
So beautiful and so painful.
This song was a hit the year I met my husband. We have been married 32 years and we danced to this at our wedding
Chris de Burgh has made so many great songs, he is very underrated.
He sold over 45 million albums. So i think he is not underrated. In Europe he is very famous. I'm German and i can say, here he was In the 80s and 90s very popular
@@t.kupper7903
True, Chris de Burgh has more sucess in Europe than USA, also very popular in South America, at least here in my country Chile, in argentina as well, in fact he was born in argentina.
@@Alejandro-pg6ng Oh, that's new for me, that he was born in Argentina. Thanks for this Information. But i know he is Irish and many good music comes from Ireland...By the way, sometimes US people have no idea for good music (sometimes more often than sometimes) ;-)
Not in Montreal, we love him here!
Spanish Train 😍
This guy is seriously talented. "A spaceman came travelling" is one of his best.
Music Man oh yes!! Thanks for reminding me!! :).

Music Man hard to choose his “best” but Spaceman is up there. Also really fond of “Spanish Train”...
Dana says- My fave is Patricia the Stripper. Just sayin'.
What a classic!!
1987 - started dating my best friend Amy O. I couldn't have been more in love and this is one of the songs from that time that still makes my heart swell. I can still see her sweet, fun smile. She always could make me laugh. I was fortunate for the time I was able to spend with her. Over 33 years ago and seems like yesterday. 80's music.......nothing else like it.
Who disliked this? Emotionless humans.
I did...
Ladies in other colours.
@@willhayford8748 You have shitty taste then.
@@willnicholson18 😋
I have always thought that this is one of the best romantic songs of all time. My favorite part of the song is when he whispers "I love you" at the very end.
Love this particular song 'Lady in Red' by Chris de Burgh. Actually writing this from him is so beautiful for the gorgeous Lady in Red, lucky them...........xxx
They played this at my senior prom back in 87. wow im old!

The 80s were a time of real love songs.
I danced to this at high school dances back in the day, I'll never forget who I was with then.
He is one of the best singers and songwriters. You should listen to The Girl with April in her Eyes. The Last time I Cried is also very good
Chris de Burgh has so many fantastic songs!
Don't Pay the Ferryman, A Spaceman came travelling, Where Peaceful Waters Flow, Missing You, Up Here In Heaven, Here Is Your Paradise... Just to name a few 😏
It's not only a romantic song, it sounds like a confession. True. Confession.
I loved Chris de Burgh's 'Spanish Train' as a kid...it sounded so haunting and epic...
My wife of 23 years and I had our first dance to this song.
Chris is my all time favourite artist. It actually makes me swell with pride and emotion to see you reacting so positively to his music. Thank you.
I have a great story for you. It was 1987 and I was Not quite 17. Dirty Dancing had come out in theaters and we all wanted to dance with a cute boy like that!!! I worked at a teen dance night club ages 14-20 only, on Friday and Saturday nights. I sold the tickets and welcomed people in. It was the best job!! I wasn’t technically supposed to be dancing but if “he” came in (He is a different story but a good one). I would either wait for him to or request it myself. The Lady in Red. It really was magical. Without a word I would race from my register and we would find each other on the packed dance floor. Held me so softly but incredibly close, so close. He would kiss me and my knees were weak. It was always so hard to let go at the end of the song. When the magic is shattered we wordlessly separate and I (still not knowing if this one was the last time)continue working. And hoping. I did see him again 3 yeaylater but that is also another story. I always requested a jam song for after to lift me up. Prince “House Quake”. I have many stories and songs to go with them if you like. I’ll give you a suggestion for one interesting thing to know, story or song to hear for each decade of my life. This was a song and a story so I will add a funny. Watch The Mackenzie Brothers From the Great White North. “Don’t Kill Bugs” without laughing. SWAK
My last dance with my late wife was to this song.
It must be close to the perfect love song
Great reaction, love your channel.
Yeah the later affair was a tragedy that a lot of people found ironically am using, but the song remains true for a lot of people

I just realised how beautiful this song was through your reaction! I used to listed to Chris de Burgh with my Dad when he was still alive. Brings back some happy memories!
Greetings from Bavaria!
Remember this song dearly and will always love it =) Brings me back about 25 years on school dances.. Oh what a time! =) I felt then it was TIMELESS and wanted (as many other times) to hold on to a moment in time,,,, This feeling* makes me come back to these kind of songs over and over again =)
Love your reaction in this one India, this song is so moving and pure!
All though this I kept wondering when India was going to cry...... There is is. Makes my eye's mist up every time I hear this. Gotta go cry now.
this is definately one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard.
Beautiful song. Every time I hear this now I think of six times DWTS dance champion Derek Hough's exquisite rumba with Nicole Scherzinger, to the Harold Wheeler orchestra.

Chris de Burgh Trivia: His daughter, Rosanna, won Miss World in 2003.
Saw Chris De Burgh for the first time in concert in 2018. He gave us a great performance. Such great energy and such a rapport with his audience! Loved it so much that I regret not going to see him the other times he was in our city.

This is a Love Song that so many folks have Slow Danced to. The Movie was a Box Office Flop but Stevie Wonder won an Oscar for Writing & Singing I Just Called To Say I Love You. HIs Buddy Lionel Richie won an Oscar for Say You Say Me for White Nights.
Absolute classic! Now way you didn't know this before. Another fantastic legendary British music artist.
