My son left 28 Jan for basic at Ft Jackson SC. He got sick with the flu his 2nd day. They put him on quarters for a week and let him start when he was better. I got my first letter from him yesterday. He said he is doing well and loves the food. Lmaooooo!!!!

I went in for school and decided to stay, reenlisted, but I got tasked with the mind control bs and now don't have an IQ high enough to go to school anymore, not that I was ever smart, just less dumb. The VA has taken care of me so far. Still... we signed the dotted line.

I joined the Navy the day before Saddam invaded Kuwait, and the way my CC's were talking I knew my ass was going to Iraq as soon as I graduated from boot camp. Turned out that "inevitable tour" didn't happen until 15 years later!
