@@angelopearce2420 how is that even relevant here? The ingnorance is causing the outrage, not the bliss. Btw it doesn't say anywhere that this is a soundcheck
as someone whos been a periphery fan for 7 years and seen them live countless times-this is a clinic/workshop. they are so much more lively when the play live, ive seen them and its amazing. and besides, as someone who plays both drums and guitar, its so much easier to just focus on your instrument instead of putting on the performance hat, especially when im practicing. people who call them out for being “statues,” you try to play the music they play without looking at your guitar. just enjoy the music, jesus
I've seen them live before and this is nothing like their performances. They are just standing around in this video. When I saw them they all were into the music, unlike here.
MikenikeBTS It seems like a workshop to me. They've done something like this before, just not on a huge stage. But I could be wrong. Maybe it is a sound check.
Yeah, they do perform like this in front of all the crowds they play for. They are about as exciting to watching as someone getting their teeth cleaned. The singer generally is mildly animated at best but the rest just go through the motions.
It's because they need three. One for ambience/solos, and two to always carry the weight of the sound (since Misha has stated he really likes the double tracked sound live)
In this song, theres also three different guitar parts during the verse. Misha plays the verse riff with all the fretted notes an octave up while Mark plays the regular verse riff and Jake plays the ambient/lead stuff. They do a lot of interplay between the three guitars.
Alot of drummers continue to play through parts like that so they can help the person playing the part come back into the song at the right moment and in time
Jesus people it's a soundcheck. That's why they aren't moving, and that's why spencer isn't throwing out his voice for it.

can we just quickly appreciate how accurate and tight they all are in their playing ? damn
Nolly is life...
+MeHesHovMe his fucking bass rig makes me so wet dude
The flip flops
As soon as he dipped they blew up on a realismz
i really really really really REALLY miss seeing nolly on stage with duh boys
:,(
Nolly is such an oxymoron :D
Looks like dad rock, but sounds like your son's angry music!

its looks so funny the blank expressions and their hands are so busy
it's a soundcheck :P
yup
MyNameJeff that’s why they aren’t moving, chill lmao
3:37 my heart stopped. The Dingwall almost falls.
Blast from the past. Back when Misha held his pick with three fingers!
Guys, It's a sound check. Do you honestly think that they would perform like this in front of a huge crowd?
Must be a really quiet crowd.
I've seen them live before and this is nothing like their performances. They are just standing around in this video. When I saw them they all were into the music, unlike here.

***** You're right it is a workshop. I didn't notice the description said "workshop"

The fact that nolly is playing exactly what misha mark and Jake are playing but on BASS is ridiculous
That's because he's not. You couldn't play those 3+ string palm mutes on bass.
@@Pughhead stupid comment
Must be sound check
Blame The Tyrant Obviously it is.
Muhammad Nur Ilham or, these are robots.....
Wish I could see them live.
Thanks for these material mate, love the performance
Nolly rocks it out wearing some sandals or flip flops damn
congrats con 100 subscribers!!
Fuckin' what a bass tone 😍
Never knew they went to the Philippines. or maybe u wasn't in to them back then. I was in to VOM back then.
Nolly looks cool
Nolly needs to hit the stage again. They have a recording of him playing for when they play live but it just does not hit the same
Did Nolly just tap?!
I don't really care if periphery will go without vocals someday but I really love Spencer's vocals
Hopeful to run into Mark in Subic someday
Epic song. Absolutely love it.
1:40 that drums 😩
Seriously. What an asshole lol
Where's Sponce?
I could be wrong but this seems like sound check. There's no crowd screaming lol.
JonathanAmaralMusic It's a workshop, I think. Spencer's usually at them but I don't think he performs with them during the time.
Ah okay!
Nolly for president
3:06 i wonder what that guy was doing to nollys stuff?
That's Nolly
Zachary Ahr I don't think Nolly is Filipino...
lol he was clearly assuming i was an idiot...
That outro🤘😈
Was mark the last one to get a sig guitar? misha and Jake are playing theirs.
Think so as he joined Periphery after them! That's a custom JPX from Music Man he's playing, probably on par with his PRS!
The ultimate 000 000 0 00 0 000 00 0 00 riff
good quality

having fun guys?
hayst kung nasa legal na sana ako nung nagplay sila dito noon pero hanggang nagyon 15 plng akp
i never dig the 3 guitars thing....but i love Periphery
why it just makes the sound bigger and heavier
yea why?
so lets put 13 guitars! :P

I didnt know Michael Stevens played bass for Periphery!?!?
To those to who this is their actual performance , lemme light you up this is a sound check
Is Jake or Matt playing @ 3:05?? favorite part of the song and as a drummer i wish Matt (Halpern) would stfu on parts like that lol
It's usually Jake.
Drummers can't help themselves 😂 live, their bigger attention whores than singers
Dominick Guerra i agree. Matt overplays the silent parts
Alot of drummers continue to play through parts like that so they can help the person playing the part come back into the song at the right moment and in time
He only does that live because they play to a click track and instead of him just playing the click himself he does something interesting.
You got the song title wrong - Insomia is the version without Nolly. Nolly is clearly in this.
Back when Mark was the one who wore the strap high. Ish.
They look so bored without Spencer, except Matt of course
Maybe it's just because that song along with Ji is the hardest song they have. And they've all admitted that they think it's a triggy one ;)
Oliver Gustavsen did you get that from marks AMA on reddit lol?
Actually heard it from a friend, but I guess he read it from marks AMA xD
Oliver Gustavsen
I was the one that asked him that question lol
Oliver Gustavsen
It's arguably their hardest song to play. I practiced it for a whole summer lol
Marks face
NOLLY
Mark looks so bored at the beginning hahaha
Nolly looks like the aliens in zak mc kraken. Without the head. Ok its soundcheck, but only the frummer having fun?
Statues . Move a little bit . Damn.
holy shit... these kids are INSANE! 4:20 me yelling!
I regret not listening to them when during the time of their tour here in Manila.I was listening to some stupid emo band way back. What a time wasted.
Jet lag? They look like the greatest high school band in history.
Too bad this music doesn't translate well live. Natural reverb ruins it
4 axe fs...i think they are not enaugh ahaha
@Walter B wow dude i commented a loooong ago, hope they have some money by now haha
@Ghost Heart you're wring buddy. They've got GGD, Misha has a UA-cam, and I'm willing to bet there are other ways they make money as well
@Atavistic Platypus you do realize they have plenty of money right? Lol Misha literally owns a McLaren
I thought they played Insomnia by Craig David. Okay I'm out.
Richmond Villanueva Normie
I simply love how this band sucks live, I think they need another guitar
