Great great great solution. Using a treadmill requires manually adjusting speed anyhow so this takes an extra few seconds and without connectivity or accuracy issues. Thanks for the great recommendation!
Hiya, is it possible to use this App on the Apple Watch without Zwift? Just being able to run on a treadmill and manually select your running speed and add that to the other metrics picked up from the apple watch and export
Yip it does. You can find a screen shot of the main landing page for the app in my blog post: mountain-road.com/blog/zwift-running-tss-app You’ll notice that there is a toggle to switch between Metric and Imperial.
Thanks for sharing this! Is there a similar app to this for a non-smart stationary exercise bike to be used with Zwift? Would be nice to be able to translate power on the real bike into power in zwift when I'm traveling and have to ride in a non-connected gym bike.
I’m not aware of any app that can do this. I think the main reason why there isn’t something like this available is to prevent cheating during Zwift races. You can see how some riders will broadcast a fake power to Zwift while using it in a race.
I guess inflation has taken its toll. Still a great bargain even at $2.99. Yep you can manually adjust the incline input on the app. When the Zwift world shows say a 5% grade, you can set that same grade on the app. This data will then be stored and uploaded to something like Strava after your run.
Hello, My Zwift is installed on my MacBookAir and the Treadmill Smart Speed App on my Iphone. I followed the steps of your video, but Zwift doesn't recognize it, even if you active bluetooth in both places. How should I proceed? Thanks
What year model is your MacBookAir? Your iPhone can only connect via BT to newer Mac models. My MacBook Pro from 2011 does not support it, but on a 2018 iMac it works.
I did some more research and it seems that 2011 might be the cut-off. MacBook Airs made before then does not have the technology needed for this app to work. I know of another app (called Treadmill Speed Transmitter) that works on Android devices, but I don’t think there is a substitute that will work with the older macs.
This is an iOS only app. You can try this app for Android, but I’ve never used it, so I’m not sure about how well it works: bipr.fr/treadmill-speed-transmitter

Should work. This isn't something that I've tested, but if you're elliptical provides a speed reading, then you'll simply match the app's input to the speed reading.
I've never tested it on a non-apple device. I suspect that the connection between the phone and the other apple device works kind of like Airdrop in the way info gets exchanged. The app developer only listed this on the app notes: "*Connection to MAC Requires BLE 4.0 - The Mac mini , MacBook Air were both updated with Bluetooth 4.0 support in 2011.The MacBook Pro Mac 2012.The Mac Pro in December 2013."
Hello! I use this app but does it allow me to still reach running levels and receive rewards? My level won’t go up when I use this app does anyone know why?
That is odd. I’ve been able to receive all the rewards and level-up just fine while using this app. The only place where the app might “disqualify” you is on Zwiftpower when you use it for races.
Total waste. try hitting the phone button when you are running at 12 mph or doing high intensity intervals There is simply no comparison to likes of Stryd...a totally different league! Then again, you get what you pay for!

Thank you the pod I been using kept cutting in and out and was frustrating this is a game changer.
Oh this is awesome!
Thank you so so so much!!!
Thanks for the informative video! I plan to use this app with my non-bluetooth treadmill.
So glad that it was helpful. Enjoy your Zwift runs!
Amazing now I can win all the race running at 50kmh ;)
Does running on zwift cost the monthly subscription ?

Helped me a lot, I used on my Android to transmit to my computer
That’s awesome. So glad that you found the video helpful. Enjoy your Zwift runs.
Hey! How do you go about connected to it. I am using Android phone. Thank you.
There is another app called the “Treadmill Speed Transmitter App” that works on Android: bipr.fr/treadmill-speed-transmitter
Thanks!!!
@@MountainRoadRide how much for that app?
Can I do it not on the treadmill?? Like can I get run down the street with something?
does the app support miles per hour? That's how my treadmill reads speed

You just saved me 150$... thank you very much
Glad to hear that! Enjoy your Zwift runs.
How accurate is the app, compared to the runpod?
Thank you! I need this.

Is still working?
Does anyone know if this still works with Zwift? Got a treadmill coming and looking at cheap ways to Zwift with a non compatible treadmill
Just tested this. Still works perfect on my end.
Is not sending the speed to my Zwift
Does the application has been block/ban from Zwift?
its not working out of a sudden i dont know why , it just cant send the speed settings to zwift
Your best bet is to start with a Firmware update. Download the Configurez app and make sure you have the latest update.
app stopped working
Tthank you. saved my time! ㅠㅠ
The App is now $2.99 as of November 8, 2020.
Can you add incline on the app as well to match the Zwift incline indicator?
I guess inflation has taken its toll. Still a great bargain even at $2.99. Yep you can manually adjust the incline input on the app. When the Zwift world shows say a 5% grade, you can set that same grade on the app. This data will then be stored and uploaded to something like Strava after your run.

My MacBook Air is from 2010 and my IPhone 5s. So it is not compatible. Understand. Do you know of a similar application that is compatible?

I don't have a choice for running- My only choice is for biking with using the Zwift app

I haven't tested that particular setup yet, but I'm thinking it should work. Please report back once you've tested this to let us know how it goes.
@@MountainRoadRide I’ve tried, it work well! Using iPhone SE for the TSS and iPhone 8 for zwift. No any issue at all.
So u can use this without a treadmill 😂😅
