Hoping and praying they will turn it around sooner rather than later, as I will be going to my first NHL game in Raleigh, NC this Saturday when the Wild faceoff against the Hurricanes!
This team can compete but in order to do so they need all their top players healthy. They play a structured defensive game but need everyone to get the few goals they need every game to win.
In another month they will be fighting for a wild card position. They have zero chance without a healthy Kirill. Little secondary talent who will step up.
Exactly. We knew this would be an issue for one more year (lack of depth) until Zach and Ryan's contracts are (mostly) off the books. They are one or two years away, and one or two acquisitions away, from a playoff roster. All-in-all they are exceeding most peoples pre-season expectations, though we all would like to see more from 12 and the vets.
One thing I consistently see Boldy do lately that is hampering his game is this: when he gets a pass he “dusts off” the puck for too long before he shoots or dishes the puck off. It allows opponents to block his shot easier or disrupt his passes. The elite players make quicker decisions and that leads to more chances and goals. Boldy is capable of being an elite player - he’s had stretches where he’s played like one - but right now he’s stuck in his head and overthinking his game. It’s hard to watch.
The problem is the medicore roster outside of Kirill. Their top 6 are awful without KK. Ek is good in his role but Boldy Zucc need kirill to be effective. Jojo is hopeless and takes up a top 6 role he doesn't deserve. Their 3rd line is made up 4th liners and their 4th liners are AHLers.
I think it's less about the Wild being out of form and more about the other teams having caught up after the initial awkward starts a lot of teams have, especially those less enthusiastic about practice. The other thing is that early in the season lots of teams are playing a softer game -- no point in getting injured right off the bat -- and the Wild don't fare as well in highly physical games. That said, Boldy and Hartman have really fallen off.
They were playing way above their heads and are now regressing back to the norm. Hartman isn't a top-6 player and neither is NoJo. Ohgren has more points in Iowa than both, yet they refuse to call him back up. Haight has the same amount of goals with Iowa as Hartman and NoJo combined. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Continuing to put Hartman and NoJo in the top-6 and expecting them to contribute is insane.
What ever happened to getting a guy who can shoot a cannon from the blue line. Perfect for the power play. If the other team wants to block it then fine make them pay with pain and complete fear from the shot.
This roster has proven it can go on heaters...It also goes on long losing streaks as well... In no way do I trust this club in a 7 game series...Put a tarp on Kaprizov...the rest will take care of itself..
If we could pass more on the PP lol = take a damn shot especially Zuccarello ugh its like watching Granlund all over again pass pass pass on that PP. Now the PK how many players do we need to collapse down around the net just to let the opponent walk in and take a shot seriously change that up!! Good to have EK back (still getting mugged everytime around the net) and of course Gustavsson = contact extension hmmm

Matt Boldy needs to play up to his contract

His confidence isn't there.
He's snake bit. Gripping his stick too tight. No puck luck.
Feel free to add the clichés above
Boldy needs to get scratched for a game

Thank goodness the Wild aren't saying what's wrong with Kaprisov. Imagine if everyone finds out he has a groin injury.

It's flu season up there in Minnesota

Same crap different season.
Gotta get healthy. This team is clearly top heavy so anytime a man is down, the whole team suffers immensely.
Thats a text book definition of a team thats not good and definitely can't make a deep playoff run without a deep contributing bench.
What ever happened to getting a guy who can shoot a cannon from the blue line. Perfect for the power play. If the other team wants to block it then fine make them pay with pain and complete fear from the shot.
Not a fan of their home record. What gives? They play better on the road it seems.
It’s good to have ek and Gus back but when Kirill is out we’re kinda playing like Buffalo
Boldy is dealing something personal he's not himself

Kirill is best player
They are who we thought they were.
First round exit.

Wild is a team wich is very good when healthy and they have that "do or die" mentality.. but they are a big glass house.. that wont help.
And Juddly oh Sports Dad about time you post a Wild UA-cam post jeepers
The NHL is the worst ran pro sports league in North America. Hockey is the best sport but the NHL is a clown show.
YES!!!
Boldy is pushing me to a point if we have to trade rossi, or can trade boldy instead im trading boldy
Still rather the size than Rossi you know when it comes to playoffs, he’s never gonna show up
I don’t think there is any problem. The team is who we thought they were if you were an optimist. A play off team but not an elite team. Ex
As a jets fan, you got a good player in Chisholm for free.
Wild are playing choreographed hockey everythings predictable
because they SUCK, a no talent team, going down is where they are going.
What a wild take
Don't use the word suck it shows a lack of vocabulary for sure
@@anthonycallies piss off
Krider is the only ranger id think about but id rather go ryan o reilly 4.5 x 2 more yrs and obviously center great face offs
Jesse Pierce please don't use the word sucks that is probably the most irritating and lame word you could use in the vocabulary otherwise you're great
