with the " . . Shane Wright and a 1st" tagline in mind and being brought up a few times, a cool question for the bonus round in a future quiz could be something along the lines of how many players can you name in 30 seconds that have been traded for a 1st round pick. .
Oh damn, that’s my bad. Totally misread that! Yeah that makes that trade impossible unless Buffalo can keep winning on this west coast swing and really show they’re taking a step forward towards challenging for the playoffs (and even then…)
I’ll give 2 trades as a Sabres fan. The first is with Chicago To Chicago: Mattias Samuelsson, Anton Wahlberg, and 2026 Sabres Second round pick To Buffalo: Connor Murphy and Tyler Bertuzzi. The Sabres can add an experienced middle 6 presence on their left wing, and settle their right side of the defense with Murphy, Clifton, and another player (more on that in a second). The Blackhawks get a 24 year old left shot shutdown dman who just can’t stay healthy, but needs to be in this deal for cap purposes (even if it hurts me), a 19 year old center prospect drafted 39th overall in 2023, and a pick. The other trade is, To Columbus: Noah Östlund, Ryan Johnson, and a conditional 2025 Sabres second round pick that turns into a 2025 Sabres first if the Sabres make the second round of the playoffs To Buffalo: David Jiricek Jiricek has looked awesome, but there’s grumbling Columbus is shopping him. The Sabres offer 2 former first round picks, both in the AHL, and both 22 or younger, and get a stud right hand blue chip player. The Sabres defense is finally rounded out with a lot of youth on the left, but a ton of skill and skating.
Same here. I would cry if they gave up a 1st or 2nd for Hall. We just bro7gh back Eller. If they bring anyone else in they need to be either a really strong D man or a under 25 year old, proven point scorer.
Would've liked to see some goalie mock trades too! As a Ducks fan, I'm curious if they can end up moving Gibson to a desperate team. Gibby has played well and has started 3-0 this season.

Here is a crazy trade. Anaheim aquire: Trouba Brennan othman 3rd pick Rangers aquire: Gudas Vitrano Im a ranger fan, obviously dont think this would happen during the season. More of a summer trade. But i think this could be benificial for both partys. Ducks get a solid defenceman who is a leader. Cen help on and off the rink. Plus a decent prospect and a third pick. Rangers would get a solid defenceman with better salary, and familiar face to fill that 1st line right wing spot with zibinijad and kreider.
Think gudas says no tbh he turned down contenders to sign in Anaheim in the first place because he wants to play in a market that isn’t 24/7 plus now he’s captain makes it even more unlikely
Thoughts on this trade Leafs acquire: Ryan Strome Ducks acquire: Nick Robertson 4th round pick (conditional) 4th becomes a 3rd if the leafs make it to the ECF. Also love the vids 👍
@@andyholland2130 he’s not that high of a cap u can bring in a 3rd party team and give them a 3 or 4th to retain cap. And we could also send dewar away Aswell wouldn’t be that difficult to do.
The price for Nelson to go to Minnesota might not be super high if he plans on signing there infree agency in the summer. He has a 16 team no trade so if he really wants to go there, he can block the other teams in the market for him.
I don’t think Brad would give up that much draft capital with the picks being that high. Maybe 2 3rds or a 3rd and 4th, that will turn to 2 seconds if they make ECF or the Stanley cup final.
hoglander and elias pettersson bowen byram and henri jokiharju.. hockey trade. sabres eats the risk with that EP40 contract - but get a high ceiling center, canucks get a top 4 defenseman and cap space. sabres get a depth forward, canucks get a RHD who can play up the lineup.
I had a trade idea: To Philly: Morgan Geekie 3rd round pick To Boston: Morgan Frost Philly is just wasting his potential and he would be a good fit for the Bruins
As a Pens fan who saw Grandlund as a throw in on the Karlsson deal just to get rid of him because of how bad he was in Pittsburgh to then be traded for a 1st would be WILD
As a wild fan, I think we need someone who shoots right. We are stacked with lefties at the moment. That and his age are things that make me hesitant to say that I'd trade for him
Blackhawks-Sabers trade: Yeah, sure, why not. From the Blackhawks perspective, it's another relatively high draft pick. They don't have a 3rd going into this upcoming draft. Either draft to replenish the minors that are about to be raided for the next gen core or trade a few of the extra picks for a big name down the road. They need to do something with Bedard, and this deadline/offseason might be the time to start loading up. Also frees up a spot to bring up someone like a Nazar or Slaggert for more NHL time if wanted.
1. Kandre Miller for John Tortoell and a conditonal 4th. Turns into a 2nd if miller has a + +/-. 2. Gibson (50%) for wood 2nd and 4th 3. Mike Matteson for a 1st 2nd and 3rd (NYR)
As a pittsburgher I agree with everything Jesse said. They are trapped trying to rebuild AND win now while sid/geno/letang see the ends of their careers. Sid is untouchable, if the others get traded I’d be sad but I’d get over it lol.
As a pens fan if simply want picks for pettersson ill take a 1st and then a 3rd or possibly a 2nd round. Right now petty is playing 1st line minutes and is doing stellar and I'd hop to get a stellar return for him.
As a Bruins fan, at this point I'd rather see them run with the young kids and sell at the deadline to re-stock our prospect and pick pool. Guys like Frederic, Geekie, Johnson, Peeke and Wotherspoon. Coyle or Zacha too if we can find a partner not on their no-trade list. Hell, if Korpi keeps playing well he could fetch us a decent return as well.
Trade ideas To Tor: Brock Nelson (50%) Retained To NYI: Calle Jarnkrok, Nick Robertson, Topi Niemela,2025 3rd pick becomes 2nd if leafs make conference finals Seems like a overpay but with islanders lack of cap and leafs needing a 2LW/3C I think it is a fair deal
In all my 26 years of life, 20 of them watching the bruins, I’ve never seen such a disconnected, underperforming, disappointing start. I know everyone’s hard on us B’s fans for reacting so harshly but like… we really haven’t seen this happen in decades 😂. All we have to hold onto rn is the idea that we always seem to find a way.
Being a Bruins fan, I want to see the team get back into a divisional spot in the standings and make a hopeful push this year. This is probably far fetched but with the Preds struggling to start the year and Bruins needing a change. What would you say about this. NSH trades : Nyquist Schenn Tomasino BOS trades : Coyle Peeke 1st 2026 3rd 2025 4th 2026
The trade to finally help him win that elusive Cup that he should have won in 2022 with that Avs. To Ottawa - 2026 1st round pick (Top 10 protected, slides to 2027 if Colorado is in the top 10 picks), Jake Fisher and a 2025 2nd round pick. To Colorado - Claude Giroux Colorado is hurting for forward depth and can use a known playoff performer and Ottawa is hoping the Avs get worse in the next few years and can have a top pick to add to their team.

Don Waddell has supposedly been shooting down Jiricek offers for weeks, had a plethora of young goalies, and wants a 1st + for Provorov. It's probably fair value, but CBJ would want an NHL ready shutdown RHD in return for Jiricek.
Idk where that subwoofer bump noise is --probably the micstand base - but it's very distracting. "Even if they are a wildcard team..." they are [nearly] always a wildcard team! No way Rasmus would play in WPG either.
Here is a bit of a blockbuster for you Maple Leafs Receives: Brock Nelson (50 Retention) Islanders Receives: - Nick Robertson - Mikko Kokkonen - 2026 1st (Top 12 Protected) - 2025 3rd You may need to throw in a guy like Topi Niemela in place of Mikko Kokkonen. Isles are looking for LW and a change of scenery could be what Robertson needs. Love the videos, Jets < Leafs
The trade is 1 for 1: Mason McTavish for Brady Tkachuk. There were whispers OTT has loved MacT since the draft when he played there in juniors and Marc Methot just stated that he thinks a changeup in the core is coming soon. No world that it’s Timmy or Sanderson and Chabot has the NTC and his contract is arguably net negative. So it has to be Brady or Norris (who is playing well right now) if you believe they eventually have to make a change. McTavish has captain written all over him and has won at every level so far as the captain of his team. I don’t think Canadians need to be sold on how good he is stats wise and intangibles wise. Has had two decent seasons in the NHL and is the closest younger generation equivalent to Brady other than maybe Ryan Leonard. You can lock him up for 8 years next season compared to Brady’s 3 years remaining. Drafted 3rd overall vs 4th overall. The only reason McTavish would be on the table is his concerning start to this season and the barrage of penalties he takes. OTT could lose if Brady does what Matthew did and becomes a playoff monster with the rest of the Ducks young core. ANA could lose if McTavish eventually becomes Ottawa’s 1C/captain and Brady walks in UFA in 3 years. Who says no?
Sens say no. He’s OTT captain and the type of player he is is rare in the league that makes him more valuable. Ducks would to add smth like Zellweger and a 3rd to make up for it
A truly WILD trade proposal, that probably won’t happen, but fun to dream! Min receives: Sidney Crosby Pitt Receives: Marco Rossi, Marcus Johansson 2025 1st and a 2026 2nd, (if the Wild make the conference final it turns in to a 1st) This would depend on if Pittsburgh decides to blow it up or not. Rossi is only 23 and in, my opinion, a future 30 goal/70 point producer in the league. A good young piece for a rebuild. He is on an expiring contract and the Wild believe that Danilla Yurov who is coming over next year can play center, leaving Rossi as the odd guy out. Johansson is thrown in for cap reasons and I think Liam Ohgren should be playin in his place already. For Crosby, his buddy is playing is final year in the league, and his other buddy is the GM. Wild are in a great spot with a Hart trophy candidate, along with a deep prospect pool. If he wants to win now and be on a team on the rise, at the end of his career, Min is a good spot to be. A line of Kaprizov, Crosby and Zuccarello/Boldy would feed families!
As a Pens fan, I don't love that Pettersson trade. I'm kind of in aggreement with Jesse that you can probably get a first for him. But I'm fine with the second if you're getting more "real" prospects. Getting two young guys that haven't been good in the pros is just not a good return. I tend to agree the first and Turcotte or the second and Akil Thomas makes a bit more sense. There has to be a centerpiece to beat your chest over if you're Dubas, the first can be that or Thomas can be that, but nothing in the submitted trade moves the needle like that.
Trade proposal To SJ Sharks: David Jiricek To Blue Jackets: Filip Bystedt, 2025 2nd, and 2026 4th Alternatively if that’s a no then what do you think about 1 for 1 Jiricek for Quentin Musty?
As a czech and Sharks fan I would love to see Jiříček coming to Sharks but I wouldn`t give away Musty. He is the winger we need. I would go that Bystedt or Gush/Bords plus the pick.
@ Ya I’d strongly prefer the Bystedt and picks offer, but not convinced that would get it done. Don’t like the idea of Musty, but it might be worth it for a good Right D prospect that’s going to be in his prime at the right time for the team… plus it’s ultimately harder to get a solid top 4 right D than a skilled top 6 winger.
Montréal has an expiring contract in David Savard, and a promising young defensemen in Logan Mailloux, so with that in mind, they could probably get more at the deadline, but Savard to Winnipeg to really help reinforce that blue line for a deep playoff push for a 1st round pick and possibly a 4th round pick with it
As a Sharks fan of going on 30 years, the ONLY way Granlund gets moved is if Granlund has specifically asked to be moved. Which there's no way for any of us to know that right now. But as GMMG, no, I would not do this deal. Especially because who is the veteran leader of this team if Granlund gets moved? Couture is BADLY hurt, and with each passing day is much closer to medically retired than to rejoining the lineup.
Granlund with salary retained for kappo kakko and a 3rd. Rangers get help on the right side and he can play center and sharks get a prospect who needs a chnage of scenery
I think the bruins will sneak into the playoffs but even then adding granlund is probably not going to make the difference between a cup and a 1st round or 2nd (if they play the leafs in the 1st) round exit. He isn’t worth the first to them but as a sharks fan I’d be happy if Grier made that trade happen
I would love to see this podcast weekly

Min receives: Sidney Crosby
Pitt Receives: Marco Rossi, Marcus Johansson 2025 1st and a 2026 2nd, (if the Wild make the conference final it turns in to a 1st)
This would depend on if Pittsburgh decides to blow it up or not.
As a wild fan no we don’t want crybaby Crosby at all like no one on the pins sorry
Taylor Hall and Bertuzzi back to Boston for Morgan Geekie and Charlie Coyle seems fair one team probably has to include a pick
My trade suggestion is the Goalie Tarasov from Columbus in exchange for Georgiev from Colorado + Kovalenko if Columbus gets the Wild Card
Trade proposal
To SJ Sharks: David Jiricek
To Blue Jackets: Filip Bystedt, 2025 2nd, and 2026 4th
Alternatively if that’s a no then what do you think about 1 for 1 Jiricek for Quentin Musty?
As a czech and Sharks fan I would love to see Jiříček coming to Sharks but I wouldn`t give away Musty. He is the winger we need. I would go that Bystedt or Gush/Bords plus the pick.
@ Ya I’d strongly prefer the Bystedt and picks offer, but not convinced that would get it done. Don’t like the idea of Musty, but it might be worth it for a good Right D prospect that’s going to be in his prime at the right time for the team… plus it’s ultimately harder to get a solid top 4 right D than a skilled top 6 winger.
@@SharksOregon Absolutely agree. I just love the name Quentin Musty so much😀 Would love to see him thriving along Celebrini in line 1😎
You guys nailed all the trade props imo
ya, totally, calling bertuzzi a rental is nailing it
What was even so funny about the squeeze water out of the towel thing
''Cola Rado'' -Jessi
Big no for me on hall for the caps
Granlund with salary retained for kappo kakko and a 3rd. Rangers get help on the right side and he can play center and sharks get a prospect who needs a chnage of scenery
nick schmaltz 2026 1st round & 2025 2nd round for elias petterson & 2025 1st round* (*only if vancouver makes the playoffs)
The Bruins wouldn't have the salary cap space for that Granlund trade.
it's also a shit deal lol
It's a bad deal, but that shorthanded goal though 😎
