The defining characteristic of the Dagar Gharana is their refined, nuanced, peaceful, and demanding rendition of the Alap, which pays close attention to microtonal inflection and brings out the subtleties of the raga.
Roman Das is a progressive percussionist who specializes in the Pakhawaj.
His performances showcase the instrument's classical music heritage, blending tradition with creativity. Roman believes that the sound of the Pakhawaj can uplift one to experience divinity.
