"The devil's teeth stay sharp and they leave there mark and everything you built fucking falls apart if you made it this far your right back where you start" is the most truthful verse ever.
Listened to this when I was 15 and had just gotten through overdosing on Pain Killers and Sleeping pills. I'm 27 and came back to tell you it is possible one way or another. Just stay alive and keep trying.
I'm a coke head, I've lost my friends, my family and my motivation in life. Yet when I listen to this song, I have hope that I can fix my life. I stopped doing coke a week ago, deleted all my contacts for it, and I'm trying to make a mense with people. Music is my religion.
im also a cokehead and an alcoholic. i went to a nice rehab facility and i heard this song during yoga. i was about to burst into tears. one day at a time man you can do it. god, grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage to change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
A buddy of mine died last week at the age of 33 and he would always say" When the dust settles down and all is said and done... I never really knew what he meant, Until know. I think he lead me to this song. Miss you James.R.I.P.
I lost my mom in 2012, these guys got me through it. I come here from time, time when feeling down, feeling lost or want to quit. Thanks Redlight Kings
Sorry for your loss Friend. Even psychiatrists have down days , they know better not to dwell . which is the secret. There's a book out there called "mind over mood" . If you read the book in it's entirety. You will find It's the title of the book that is the answer.. an it's what the author of the book is trying to teach us. It cured me for life. Despite being on deaths door myself and my own mother dying who I loved dearly. I new the difference. The sad time will pass if you let it and not to dwell .. having said that I am good natured person who carries no malice in the first place And I've never been dependent on any drugs which I believe will alter the chemical structure of one's mind .( It took me 2 weeks to train my thoughts ) my cure was instantaneously in reality when I read the title of the book . The 2 weeks was not to think about being down .
The red-light kings are truly something for the pain. They get it, and sometimes all you really need is for someone else out there to get it. Thank you red-light kings for existing.
These guys are awesome, they have a message that kids these days need to hear...when you fall down and scrap your knees, get up and do it again! I can't wait to see them go to the top!
This is a really thought provoking song. and I think this song will age really well, as the more life experience you have the more power this song will have on you, and the more it will mean
I am no fan of rap music~I detest the profanity and the vulgarity~but my oldest grandson convinced me to listen to this song. I like this song because it's done by an artist who can actually sing, while also telling an actual story. It sounds like it was written by someone who lived it~give it a listen if you're interested.
this is the personal story of the singer. he had a hard time with his cocoine adiction... this music got him out! i really love the rest of the album two! his special song for Neil Young.... Also a great story behind this song!
Amen and good luck man. I’m a ex junkie two inches from the vein of relapse. This is first time I heard this jam and I don’t comment on shit. Great jam and sometimes that’s all we need. And each other. Good luck
I want to know if this amazing song has already a video, and if it hasn't, know the reason of that, but damn, this song is fu**** sentimental and deserves the best video of all their songs, i think......maybe they have better songs, but this is special :S
@ryeryemoon it actually a good thing to get hurt (not too badly) because when they heal the bone is thicker and stronger so yea thats WHY we get stronger bones as we grow
Been up and down these streets I've seen both sides of town I've been through the hardship The long way around The point of no return That's just where I begin I spent a lot of time with all seven deadly sins Hated who I was Who I became Lost my faith in God Put my faith in cocaine Cheated on my girlfriends Lied to myself Put my whole family through hell When the dust settles down You've seen where you've been You're runnin' on empty Broken within When the dust settles down There ain't nothin' left Turn it around Start over again And when you have nothin' left Find out what you're worth I came through the storm Stopped diggin' in the dirt I rewound the tape Saw through the evil and hate Started believin' that I had what it takes I went back to the start Workin' full shifts through the worst shit Kickin' carpet and bouncin' punks at the bar I got a new life now Now that I'm legit You can call the cops man It don't mean shit When the dust settles down You've seen where you've been You're runnin' on empty Broken within When the dust settles down There ain't nothin' left Turn it around Start over again When the dust settles down You've seen where you've been You're runnin' on empty Broken within When the dust settles down There ain't nothin' left Turn it around Start over again Start over again Start over again Start over again Start over again When the dust settles down You've seen where you've been You're runnin' on empty Broken within When the dust settles down There ain't nothin' left Turn it around Start over again

Kickin carpet
Been up and down these streets
I've seen both sides of town
I've been through the hardship
The long way around
The point of no return
That's just where I begin
I spent a lot of time with all seven deadly sins
Hated who I was
Who I became
Lost my faith in God
Put my faith in cocaine
Cheated on my girlfriends
Lied to myself
Put my whole family through hell
When the dust settles down
You've seen where you've been
You're runnin' on empty
Broken within
When the dust settles down
There ain't nothin' left
Turn it around
Start over again
And when you have nothin' left
Find out what you're worth
I came through the storm
Stopped diggin' in the dirt
I rewound the tape
Saw through the evil and hate
Started believin' that I had what it takes
I went back to the start
Workin' full shifts through the worst shit
Kickin' carpet and bouncin' punks at the bar
I got a new life now
Now that I'm legit
You can call the cops man
It don't mean shit
When the dust settles down
You've seen where you've been
You're runnin' on empty
Broken within
When the dust settles down
There ain't nothin' left
Turn it around
Start over again
When the dust settles down
You've seen where you've been
You're runnin' on empty
Broken within
When the dust settles down
There ain't nothin' left
Turn it around
Start over again
Start over again
Start over again
Start over again
Start over again
When the dust settles down
You've seen where you've been
You're runnin' on empty
Broken within
When the dust settles down
There ain't nothin' left
Turn it around
Start over again
