@@WADESGOATED I wonder if you realize Duncan went to the Nba paired with Robinson, one of the three best centers in the league, and once Robinson was done, the Spurs gave him Ginobili, Parker and a lot of role support. Go watch Hakeem's teammates through the years, you'll get the point. Got to contextualize man.
Hakeem and Bullard were the og's of the squad and Bullard would be the last rocket from the championship squads who would've thought matt would be the last rocket
@MDBBall honestly you have no idea i was a little kid in LA who was an Olajuwon fan i rarely got to see non national games of his growing up. I've already watched this 5 times this morning.
Vividly remember this final year of his. He looked over the hill some nights but other nights, he looked like an elite center again. He deserved to retire as a Rocket.
You may not think about it this way, but Hakeem was actually being unselfish by asking for a trade in this scenario. He gave the Rockets future draft picks, and he gave them the option to look for unrestricted players in the free agency pool. The Rockets ended up drafting Yao Ming in 2002, and they made a trade for Tracy McGrady in 2004. Granted, the duo did not work out as planned, but the point is that Hakeem tried to give the Rockets a better future.
Hakeem was the complete package offensively and defensively, and still the only player in NBA history to carry a team of average non-stars to a championship. Also, look at his salaries in his career, and he's arguably one of the most valuable players in the history of professional sports when you consider how little he was paid. Much smarter franchises could have won 7+ championships with such blatant theft.
Interestingly enough, both the Rockets and Sonics missed the playoffs that season, despite both of them being above .500. Granted, the Western Conference is a war zone, and had they both been in the East, they're automatic playoff teams.
😂😂 There are certain things I choose not to remember and seeing Hakeem in a Raptors jersey, Ewing when he was in Seattle and Kemp wearing a Orlando Magic jersey
@@GHOST91141 What about Scottie Pippen wearing a Rockets jersey? That so did not look right at all either! Of course nothing will ever take the biggest "prize" of players looking highly unusual in other jerseys that was Michael Jordan wearing a Wizards uniform for two whole seasons with that being said though! 😂L.O.L.!

24 pts, 9 rebounds, 6 assists
That's one heck of a Houston farewell
The GREATEST! Hakeem brought a GLORY and REVERENCE to Houston we will never see again! 1984-2001 ❤️💛❤️💛
Straight facts.
What a player, I don't think anyone of that size has ever come close to his grace on the court
David Robinson faster Tim Duncan same footwork as Hakeem
@@rumisfordrinkingnotburning that's right, it takes those two to make one Olajuwon

The Dream.. in my top 10 all time. Only player where i think the consesus is fine with him being #1 pick in draft over Jordan
Repn' H-Town! Should have retired a Rocket.
Wow The Rockets missed the playoffs 8 games over 0.500! Southwest Conference was a beast!
@christopherybarra1070 it wasn't the southwest back then they was in the Midwest division
That Calvin Murphy hairline crazy work lol
I guess that's why they called him captain chaos
One of the greatest players on his position ever, if not the greatest.
my goat center

let's see LeBlames do that for a franchise
My idol and icon.
Hakeem looked pretty respectable for someone in their 17th season.

Clyde Drexler and Robert Horry are all timers. But Hakeem also won with head cases like Lewis Lloyd.
he looks fresh, moves smooth

Facts the pacers were .500 and the magic were like 43-39 i bet they wished they had the play-in back then
1:42 Dude looking like barlrog 🥊 with that haircut 😂😂😂😂😂
Next year Hakeem joins Vince Carter in Toronto.
HAKEEM IS ROCKETS-TEXAS PRIDE!!
He sould stay for more seasons
This should’ve been it for Hakeem. Erase the Toronto disaster.
Dude wanted a last huge payday before he exited. Can't blame him.
Disaster is an embellishment!

He made Kareem's sky hook pretty boring!
He should of retired as a Rocket, not pay for Toronto.
