I love that I like the style of the car I like to shape the back thins the tail lights everything I love the crown like you're saying that just screams cool thank you for the video
Anytime a car has a lot of chrome, I like it. Funny how we love the style they had back then but if you tried it today with a new car, it wouldn't sell. Thanks. Stevo
Hay Stevo, I'm just an old guy but my very first car was a 1958 Delray bought for 50 bucks out of a junk yard. The 58 was a single year bady style great cruser. I'm very fortunate to have aquired another one brings back old memories. Thanks for the video great to see the past still alive.
That is a pretty classy car for your first ride. I was impressed on how much style it really had. The ride on a car that big must have been smooth. Glad to see that you have found another one. Thanks. Stevo
I have a 2 door 58 Chevy Delray. The models for the fullsize 58's were as follows : Impala was at the top of the line, then Bel-Air, then Biscayne and the base model was the Delray, but the Delray is still more rare than Impala.
That is some good info to have. I have deinitely seen a lot of the other models but a first for the Delray. The two door would be way cooler though. Thanks. Stevo
It did not matter what name was on the car back then, they all had some sort of wing on the back. When I was young, my dad had a couple of 59 caddies, the last of the big fin. Maybe that is why I like them. Thanks. Stevo
Awesome video my classic car enthusiast, I too own a 58 Chev Delray 2 door. I bought it in 1978 & Still drive it today. Great times & a lot of Cool memories for sure. 👍💚😎
The four door cars are becoming a lot more popular these days. I have even seen one done up on one of those car shows on TV. Definitely way more practical. Thanks Jim. Stevo
I've always liked the styling of those 58 Chevy's. My Parents friends had one & I had a lot of trips with them in it. They never got the status they deserved like the Year before. Oh How I miss seeing those nice lines of Vehicles back then over present ones.
The blue is a bit bold for me but I like the style of that car. Not sure what people think when they put that kind of carpet in a classic. Thanks Dave. Stevo
Hi. I own this beautiful 58 now. I bought it in June at the car is in Norway now. Its a bit changed since your video. The roof and the boot lid ar painted white, while the rest has the same blue color. Love this car, perfect for me and my use.
Wow that car is really old. LOL. Everything from that era seemed to be cooler. The cars, music, and hair dews were all better. Too bad I guy could not go back. Thanks Bruce. Stevo
That blue is pretty close to the original color. My dad's was 2 tone blue with the lighter blue below the side trim. The interior also had the same colors.
My older brother had one, that more Navy blue. I think the color was called fathom blue. I drove it to school, and probably drove the car more than he did, because he was in the Navy. I loved the car, but it only had the 283, stick on the floor.
Having the stick on the floor would have made this car cooler yet. Always impressed with the styling back in the day. I drove a Beetle to school but you could get more friends in this car. Thanks. Stevo
From the lack of a Vee emblem on the hood and trunk lid this car had a six cylinder engine under the hood , and be glad that whoever put the V8 in there switched it over from the generator to an alternator .
You could be right on the engine. I don't know the history on this car but if I blew up my six cylinder I would replace it with a V8. I know the hub caps were either from a newer model or a year previous. It is still a cool car. Having an alternator is a big plus and we convert almost all the cars we are working on. Thanks for tuning in. Stevo
@@billsteinly8105 even the Delray's were red and white, with a blue bowtie in the center . After twenty or thirty years of exposure to the sun the red may have looked / faded to gray , but the red , white and blue scheme was part of Chevrolet's USA-1 theme .
The 68 Pontiac Had basically the same front end, with lots of chrome, just made a little different. I think with without the grill, you couldn’t tell them part from the front.
1958 was the peak year for the use of chrome on US made cars. It was pretty standard across the board for just about everything that year. Take a look at the 58 Buicks
The chrome is what made these cars so iconic. We had a 59 Caddy and if one was to redo the chrome on that it would cost 20 thousand at least. I am a big chrome fan. Cars are not like they use to be. Thanks. Stevo
That is interesting. I don't know the history of that car at all or where it came from. There may have been a parts car involved at one time. Thanks for the info. Stevo
First off it wasn't upscale, it was actually the bottom of the line model for 58 the next step up was the Biscayne, then the BelAir and of course the the top of the line and first for 58 was the Impala
I want that car! It is very cool. No lowering kit!
It is a very cool car. For me it is all about the chrome and as for me, I would not lower it. Thanks for tuning in. Stevo

My wife's father had a Delray back in the 80's- 90's & we use to cruising in it to Casino & Del Rio ballrooms back in the day
That is cool. They were a really classy car. I never took it for a ride but I bet it floats down the road. Thanks. Stevo
Nice car. I always had a soft spot for all the fat wing cars from 1958
It did not matter what name was on the car back then, they all had some sort of wing on the back. When I was young, my dad had a couple of 59 caddies, the last of the big fin. Maybe that is why I like them. Thanks. Stevo
Good looking car 🚗
The car makers were sure creative back in the day. Designs were classy when you did not have to worry about fuel mileage and safety. Thanks. Stevo

Wow that is awesome that you are still drive it today. It is a classy car and worth preserving. Driving it is the best thing one can do. Thanks. Stevo
We had one as a kid but it wasn't the Delray, and we had a 59 to just love the old body style.
I am glad I was able to refresh some of those great memories. Thanks. Stevo
I like the 4 door more than a 2 door They were a nice big good looking car and cheaper than a Cadillac

There seemed to be more style back then. The cars were built so you could feel proud driving one. I can remember the smooth ride. Thanks. Stevo
@@stevoj8959 Buddy, You sure got that right!
I like it Stevo. You are absolutely correct about that house carpet, that crap has got to go but otherwise very nice driver

The Delray you have there is sporting 57 wheel covers. Long live your 58.
That is some good info to know. That car has got the whole package and will always be cool. Thanks. Stevo
Delray had the dog dish hub caps from the factory .
The name is cool Delray. I was 2 when it was made. LOL I believe you could start them without the key inseerted?? maybe a different year.
Wow that car is really old. LOL. Everything from that era seemed to be cooler. The cars, music, and hair dews were all better. Too bad I guy could not go back. Thanks Bruce. Stevo
My dad had a 1958 Chevrolet Belair similar to this automobile. The color was yellow over white four door sedan.
My choice would be yellow over white. I think that is an elegant color combo. Glad I was able to spark a memory. Thanks. Stevo
My first car was a 58 Belair, four-door hardtop, 348 4 barrel.
Can't go wrong with that. That would have been a smooth ride. Thanks. Stevo
That blue is pretty close to the original color. My dad's was 2 tone blue with the lighter blue below the side trim. The interior also had the same colors.
I remember as a kid we had a 57 Chevy with the two tone blue. They were impressive for their time, not too many around anymore. Thanks. Stevo

If it had the 6 cylinder, the hood emblem would have been in gray and white, not red and white.
@@billsteinly8105 Wrong , all hood and trunk emblems were red , white and blue for years regardless of what was under the hood .
