This film is very powerful. A haunting, emotional journey of depth and scope- felt both the intinsic tragedy and the beauty of love. The tenderness, empathy and grace coming from each one of these characters is magical! Truly. Very grateful to all 4 of the actors who touched my heart deeply. The interview was lovely- interesting, intelligent and perceptive. It was very obvious that you recognized and appreciated this glorious film. 💔🌠
I saw the film last night and it has not let go off me yet. I don't think there was anyone in the cinema who wasn't moved by it. Great performances by Andrew and Paul. Lovely people.
I saw it last night too & you could have heard a pin drop when the film was over. I've never experienced that reaction before in the cinema. I have experienced people crying during or after a movie before, but I have never before seen people literally rooted to their seats at the end. The not one person got up as the credits rolled... Then the lights came back on... Then the cleaners came in & it took several minutes before anyone stood up. I was the first person to get out of my seat & I had to compose myself before walking to the station. Beautiful film!
This is sucha great interview! I've obviously seen their press tour for the movie and all enjoyable clips but these are really good questions. All the others are so samey. Well done! And such an incredible film.
My favorite movie of 2023, the best. The four best performances I saw this past year, especially Andrew Scott! This movie moved me like no other. Just amazing! Achingly beautiful!
It's such a gorgeous film! I find it's pace really interesting.. parts are super slow and ponderous, and others are racing by, and all of it is filled with layer upon layer of emotion, which is such a breath of fresh air! So many films approach serious topics in such a reductive manner, this one is beautiful and humble and sensative and lovely, and full of a whole gamut of emotions, as human beings are ❤
Beautiful film. Instantly my top film of 2024 even though it's January. I'm hard pressed to think there will be another film that will challenge the top spot. It has also become one of my top five all-time favourites. It's challenging for top spot too, and I just might put it there. I'll have to give it some thought. I saw it on Friday and I'm still thinking about it. This film is going to stay with me for a very long time.
Not only was Andrew Scott not nominated for a BAFTA but now this film is not to be released on DVD or Blu ray - only streamed, so preventing access to many potential audiences. What is going on???
@@PrivatePrivate-so4if 😢 *WOW* I know this is something that the industry is increasingly intent on pushing over the next 18 months particularly - especially with the recent news of DVD manufacturing starting to hit the brakes with the aim of stopping altogether in the next year or two, but I have to say I was very surprised when I realised that also included BluRay and most likely 4K BluRay too. Now to find out that this beautiful, impactful, powerful and *important* film won’t be receiving a physical release is particularly galling. I got to experience it for the first time a few nights ago, and after much thought, it knocked one of my Favourite Films from its position and took its rightful place at number 2. This move feels like such a kick in the teeth and I totally agree with you that gatekeeping access to movies is not going to fare well for movies like these - and it will only come back to bite the industry on its ass in the end.
@@BananaCologne It’s the way that art and culture is being insidiously undermined and quality productions made ephemeral. The good a film like “All of us Strangers” could do, to support ordinary gay people through its real and candid representation of their lives, is great indeed. Still there will be no discs available - though ghastly travesties like “Bros” continue to be marketed in all formats and reinforce appalling stereotypes.
I finally saw this movie this evening. I've never heard so many interviewers be so enamored with the actors that they can't give an unbiased subjective review of this movie. I noticed that there is not that many interviews with the actors who play the parents; who are central to the movie. Some critics can't even get their first encounter right. There are some excellent visual scenes, interactions, acting, and writing. The music works extremely well throughout the movie. It's not what you think it is based on how it is described or what is implied. This film should come with a mental, emotional, psychological warning ⚠️ That's not a bad thing I would recommend seeing it, if you can deal with the very extremely emotional issues.
I completely agree. Excellent Performances in a masterfully crafted film I cried ferociously afterward whilst enroute home and have had tears well up again often when i think back upon the story and connections (….24hours later!)
I actually address that on the full show. I saw the film and filed the review before I had the interview. I'm very aware of not giving films positive reviews just because I had a nice interview with the cast and crew open.spotify.com/episode/4nLQgyfcvf7dRWELKghbpO?si=h6Xv-VO5Q8OQi8mK0Yg0gg
If this film had been made fifteen years ago, I would not have made it through it. I would have walked out due to the overwhelming flood of experiences, thoughts, and emotions. This movie is a reminder that when you are ready, allow yourself to accept, embrace, and process your feelings, emotions, thoughts, memories, etc.. They will take you where you need to go. t's ok.
@jobloreviews I just listened to your interview, and it was very good. I too thought the line given by Mescal character , "I thought think that really matters" to Andrew's character was one of many great lines in the movie. It was a gut punch because I have downplayed impactful events in my life when someone tried to console me and that was said. I know why I tried downplay what happened because it was my defense to keep from breaking down. Again, great interview. You do an excellent job even when you're enamored.
@@jobloreviews Your sincere recognition of the mesmerizing performances and movie in it's totality shone through the entire interview. Your questions and observations were well thought out and profound. Thank you. I was thrilled with interview and Andrew and Paul's responses. Standing ovation to all. 👏👏👏
The best film I have seen in ages and ages. Absolutely spellbinding. I was transfixed. Could not recommend it enough. Best film with a Gay subject / content ever.
Spectacular film. Humanity on display.

That ending - my heart dropped to my stomach in Harry's apartment

Lovely interview with great questions, thank you! And your enthusiasm for this marvelous film (I've seen it twice so far) is tremendously heartening.

great questions! and i love how hard they thought about what movies to show!!
Lovely interview, thank you!
Thank you for bringing these outstanding actors to your show. All of Us Strangers seems an amazing movie, can't wait to watch it.

What?! 😭
@@NickeeCarterDisney are trying to kill off “hard media” and force everyone on to streaming. This film will eventually vanish because of that.

It's an amazing film but at no point ever again will I say "let's watch tyrannosaur". Madmen!
