I love seeing your reaction to this, Alexa, this is such a great Assignment and a difficult one for Sapphire and Steel. The problem with Steel as with his nature is that he's hard and inflexible as an Element so, it's good that Tully is there for the softer approach. I'm so glad that you're enjoying it so much.

(haven't checked your previous fashion choices, though) One of the good things about this story is that you can have some empathy with the "other side", the soldier et al, who lost their lives when it wasn't necessary, while the "righteous" Steel is, to be honest, a bit of a dick! Wish I didn't have to wait a week for the next one
No I don't know whether it was in the script are costume note but when Eleanor and Sam are talking isn't wearing a uniform to begin with, yet as Eleanor talk about he going away the and he anger he switches back to his uniform. As if to reinforce the fact that he's supposedly grown up now. And will fight to get back
It's Monday morning at work, and another Sapphire and Steel review - hooray! ...and in this episode, we see Steel's incompetence endangering Sapphire , only stopped by Tully 'any change, any sudden shock could kill your friend Sapphire. Are you prepared to risk that for information on someone whose already dead?'. Tully is such a great character, sympathetic, but also unafraid to stand up to what he feels is right. If Steel had listened to Tully, they could well have made far more progress in these assignments by now.
I always wonder if part of the reason Steel is super disdainful of Tully is because his approach tends to get results, whereas Steel's approach tends to get deadly escalation and jump scares. Someone really ought to have sent Lead along, not so much for the tactical issues as to have encouraged the arrogant sod to chill a bit...
It's always a treat watching you react to thes classic series from my dim and distant youth. I disagree with you about Sam and Eleanor's relationship though. I've never personally been in a May to December relationship, but I don't see any harm in it providing both parties are consenting adults. It's so rare to make a real connection with anyone - when it does happen, should a few years difference really matter? Presumably the romance started after Sam left school and was out in the adult world. I also suspect it was Sam that did the pursuing - he strikes me as a loveable rogue/chronic rule breaker type.
Usually my objection is the older person in a relationship is taking advantage, esp if the young person is not mature and has low self esteem / a bad family situation and are desperate for the love of someone older. I think once both parties are over about 35 it is fine.
