I remember Globe, Az. My parents would drive through there on our way to El Paso, Tx. to visit my Grandmother. I remember it was a beautiful drive in that area. My father would stop and visit an Uncle, who used to live there. He used to work in the mines and passed away at an early age. I loved going threw the Tunnel. I miss going there. Love your show brings back memories.
Thanks for watching. I know what you mean by the tunnel and that drive being nostalgic. I used to go that way as a kid as well. Very beautiful and thanks for commenting.
The Jail Building, WoW! My Dad was a Police Officer during operation He was shot in the arm and later resign as an officer of Globe Arizona, i now live in Montana and would love to return and visit the Place especially the Reservation of the San Carlos Apache where i was raised and grown up, it would be awesome to Visit these place again as i once walk as a little boy. Dad would tell me stories about the Jail. Thank You for the video which brings back Memory.
Awesome, I love hearing these types of stories. The visit to the Jail was my favorite part of the trip. The staff were super friendly and just an amazing place. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment!
Born and raised in Arizona. I worked at the Magma Copper mine in Superior in the 70s. I used to drive by the old jail when it was still in operation and that was technically the old highway 60 route through Globe. My oldest brother was the undersheriff of Gila County in Payson for several years. I have never been in there and maybe it's time I stopped and took a look for myself.
Nice job! I remember visiting here with my parents. I discovered this video because it is directing some viewers to my Boise Penitentiary post. So thanks for sending some of your viewers over to me. Interesting how algorithms work. 🙂 Jerome is another day trip I like to take when I'm in Phoenix.
Thanks Scott! Yeah, we loved this trip. We have done Jerome a few times and will have to film that one as well. I will check out your videos and sub. Thanks!
@@DiscoverexplorerS You have some great road trips posted. Obvious statement coming up: One reason I always agree to drive to Jerome for the day is to go to the Haunted Hamburger. It's a perfect day trip.
Definitely a great little place to visit, all the little shops. It's been quite some time since being there. I'll have to make another trip there soon, love Arizona there is so much history in this state. Thank-you for the video. 🙏👍👍❣️🙋♂️
3:33: Next to the steps to your left used to be the stump of the old oak tree that was used for hanging criminals. I don't know if the stump is still there, but i got to see the tree back in 1959.

Great video, Bravo!
Thanks James!
I love that area. Especially neat to see some of those sites from the air! The jail was especially cool and creepy!
Thanks! It honestly felt like we had everything there just to ourselves. What a fun explore! We had much more fun than I expected.
Great vlog, a different world completely. And yes, I reckon with the history that was a bullet hole.

One of Arizonas' best governor , Rose Mofford, was from Globe.

Oh wow, that is interesting! So much history there. Next time I am out, I will look for it.
3:47: Forgot to mention below that in the 20s my mother worked as a clerk in the old county courthouse.
Your family is part of that rich history there. Amazing!
